Chapter 2 - Registration complete

Ethan looked at himself in a silent panic before looking up at the horrified and scared people.

It was not until he focused on every direction did he saw the same happening to other people too.

Ethan saw the glimpse of a girl with her whole body glowing, tears were flowing from her eyes, while looking at the judging looks of the people, and her own body.

While he was noticing all that, some of those armed people pushed their way to the crowd and stopped close to Ethan.

"What's happening to me?" Ethan asked, yet a part of his heart told him that there would be no answer.

The two armed people just grabbed Ethan's arm from both sides tightly.

"You're really pushing my buttons," Ethan finally thought it was enough, he tried pushing his arm out of the grip and punched one of the guys to start a riot.

But his eyes widened in shock when he couldn't even move his hands anywhere because of those tight grips.

Ethan wasn't one to exercise much, but he was not entirely weak either. Getting out of the grip was an easy feat for him.

But not right now, and it was weird; this whole situation and place were weird.

Just like that, Ethan was dragged by the two guys, and no matter how much he struggled, nothing happened.

"Let me go!!" He shouted only to be taken out of that metal gate. The people left behind were left frozen in place, while the glowing ones were dragged out of the place as if they were weeds.

When Ethan entered the metallic gate, there was a pitch black concrete tunnel for a while, where he was forced to move toward the light again.

When the light finally came close enough that he saw the outside, his eyes closed abruptly.

It took him a moment's time to get used to the light, yet by then he was dragged a lot farther than just the entrance.

Ethan saw a huge wall to his left first before he looked to the right, where many concrete made houses were lined up.

People were peeking out of windows, and the bystanders all watched with curious gazes.

Before Ethan could do anything or protest, he was taken inside yet another big building to the front whose gate was already open.

"Let's be civilized here guys, let me go." Ethan spoke again, even though he knew no one could understand anything.

The interior of the next building he was in now was a lot more tame than being in that open prison.

When he entered, Ethan could feel the temperature rise, and it became a lot more cozy.

By now, he was already used to being dragged away, and even when he was just limping without his legs moving, the two armed men just dragged him without any worries, which almost made it somewhat interesting.

Another gate opened, and they entered it, and that was when Ethan saw a table again.

ON top of that table, there was a glowing orb at the center of it.

"Klakl Dhun kan." One of the armed people clicked his tongue and pushed Ethan forward before pointing at him to sit on the chair.

Seeing them so pissed, Ethan just wanted to get away from them. He nodded and sat down.

Just from their interaction just now, he was in no way going to be able to beat them. They had iron spears, but that was a different case; their strength itself felt abnormal.

Without taking any risk, Ethan just sat there silently, and when the guards left the room and he had some quiet time.

Everything came down on his mind.

'What is happening? Why can't I remember anything?' Ethan thought with his palms rubbing his eyes in exhaustion.

Since he had come here, the only thing he remembered from the past was meeting that white robed guy.

But whenever he tried thinking anything else, it was all a mist and hismind went blank no matter how many times he thought about it.

It was to the point that he tried thinking so hard, he started gnashing his teeth hard. It was that frustrating, to have something you think you definitely know but still can't remember.

CLANKK

The metal door opened slowly, taking Ethan's attention off his misery. He looked toward the entrance of the room only to see that the cosplay girl was again in front of him.

"I don't know how you did that trick but it really scared everyone, you know," Ethan spoke with a shake of his head as if disappointed in her.

The woman just entered and, without giving even a single glance to Ethan, she sat right opposite to him and looked at the order in the middle of the table.

"Oh, this thing." Ethan only came to realize that he himself was quite curious about it but his mind had taken him off to another place before.

The woman moved her hand toward the orb and placed it on it.

Ethan had the craving to do it too, but refrained when the orb started glowing out of the ordinary.

The woman looked at Ethan this time with the orb still glowing and her hand on it.

Ethan didn't know what she wanted, so he clapped his hands to show some appreciation of her trick.

That was the first time the woman stopped to give him almost a chuckle; that cold demeanor broke for a second before becoming cold again.

She moved her hand forward with her palm out.

"... Sure, I guess?" Ethan moved his hand forward and kept it on the palm and she nodded before moving it forward and keeping it on the orb.

Ethan didn't know just what was happening, but it didn't feel like it was hurting him.

The orb flashed another glow before a holographic screen popped up and Ethan jerked his neck back so fast it crackled a few bones.

His hand didn't move as the woman was holding it so tight it seemed ridiculous.
