Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Shakky's Rip-off Bar

Soon after, Tom steered their ship to shore, and everyone disembarked at the Sabaody Archipelago.

Gustave and his crew prepared to explore the archipelago, with Camie wrapped in loose clothing and cradled securely in Po's arms.

Shortly after Gustave had introduced Po to Camie, the giant panda had awakened from his nap. Camie excitedly approached and introduced herself, hoping for permission to hug him.

Po readily agreed, as Camie reminded him of Uta, who had similarly enjoyed clinging to him. He genuinely loved these adorable children.

Before reaching the Sabaody Archipelago, considering Camie's distinctive identity, Gustave had provided one of his own shirts to conceal her tail.

As for Po and Tom, they were certainly more exotic and attention-grabbing than Camie, but Gustave felt no concern about human traffickers targeting them. Instead, he worried for any traffickers foolish enough to attempt such a thing.

When disembarking, Po had volunteered to carry Camie, concerned about her difficulty walking on land. He'd declared his intention to personally show her around the Sabaody Archipelago, creating their current arrangement.

"Wow! This place is so bustling! It looks even livelier than Marineford!" Luffy exclaimed upon seeing the crowded marketplace ahead, immediately attempting to break away from the group before Ace grabbed him.

"Hey, Luffy, don't wander off! The Sabaody Archipelago is much larger than Marineford—don't get yourself lost!" Ace scolded his impulsive brother.

"How's that possible?! I'm not like Zoro with his terrible sense of direction!" Luffy protested indignantly. He wasn't Zoro—how could he possibly get lost?

"If Zoro heard you say that, he'd definitely challenge you to a duel," Gustave said with amusement, gently tapping Luffy's head.

"But Ace is right. Don't act alone. Getting lost isn't the main concern here—there are numerous human traffickers. Children like you are prime targets," Gustave added seriously.

"Hmph! I'm not afraid of human traffickers! I'm going to be a great hero! Even if there are traffickers, I, the great hero Luffy, will definitely defeat them!" Luffy declared boldly.

Far from heeding Gustave's warning, Luffy began boasting about his capabilities.

While Gustave and the others had grown immune to Luffy's hot-blooded proclamations, Camie gazed at him with obvious admiration after hearing his heroic declaration.

Noticing Camie's worshipful expression, Luffy became even more theatrical, shouting that if he encountered human traffickers, he—the peerless hero Luffy—would use his special techniques to defeat them and make his name known throughout the entire Sabaody Archipelago!

Though Camie didn't understand the techniques Luffy mentioned or fully grasp what a "peerless hero" meant, she found him incredibly impressive.

Unable to tolerate any more of this display, Gustave suppressed the "great hero" Luffy and forcibly dragged him into the Sabaody Archipelago proper.

Meanwhile, several pairs of eyes observed Gustave's group from the shadows.

"Did you hear that, Tommy? The kid just said he was going to defeat all the traffickers in the Sabaody Archipelago," remarked a man with ordinary features but menacing eyes to his companion.

"I heard him, Rasu. These guys are incredibly arrogant, and those two mink tribe members—they're all valuable merchandise," replied Tommy, whose face bore numerous scars.

"Then let's show these ignorant brats how powerful we really are," Tommy declared before both men melted back into the crowd.

Gustave's group arrived at Grove 13 of the Sabaody Archipelago, specifically seeking Shakky's Rip-off Bar.

Groves 1 through 29 of the Sabaody Archipelago were synonymous with chaos, housing human trafficking shops and slave auction houses.

However, during daylight hours, Groves 1-29 maintained relatively normal appearances. At least Grove 13, where Gustave's crew had arrived, seemed appropriately prosperous and orderly.

The group wandered around the island, purchasing whatever caught their interest—they had plenty of money, after all.

The three children were thrilled by the Sabaody Archipelago's bustling atmosphere, though Camie showed the greatest excitement. This was her first exposure to the surface world's human civilization, while Ace and Luffy had already witnessed Mariejois's grandeur.

After inquiring about the Rip-off Bar's location, Gustave slowly guided everyone in that direction.

Shakky's Rip-off Bar

"Hey, Shakky! Bring me a bottle of wine, quickly!" Rayleigh called out as he entered the bar, his hair still only half-gray at this point in his life.

"Rayleigh, do you have any idea how much money you owe me this month?" Shakky scolded while still retrieving a bottle for him.

"It's fine. If I owe too much, I can just sell myself again," Rayleigh replied nonchalantly after taking a generous swig. He'd sold himself countless times when short on funds.

"Haha, you old fool!" Shakky found Rayleigh's approach amusing—only he would handle financial problems so casually.

Rayleigh was about to respond when he suddenly sensed several presences approaching from outside. He smiled to himself: "Interesting visitors are coming!"

Then Gustave's voice echoed through the establishment: "Excuse me, do you serve juice here?"

Shakky found the question amusing. Who came to a bar seeking juice?

"Sorry, this is a bar, not a beverage shop," she responded bluntly.

"What?! How can there be a bar that doesn't sell juice? Makino's bar always serves juice!" Luffy complained loudly, having grown quite thirsty during their extended walk and expecting this establishment to match Makino's standards.

Only after hearing Luffy's outburst did Shakky notice Gustave's complete group. Mainly because Luffy was so short that Gustave and Po had completely obscured him from view.

"Who brings children to a bar looking for juice?" Shakky muttered before heading to the kitchen to prepare some fresh juice for the group.

"Uncle, do you mind if we sit beside you?" Though Gustave phrased it as a question, he'd already settled next to Rayleigh.

Rayleigh found Gustave's brazen approach rather amusing. What an interesting fellow.

"You look unfamiliar, young man. Are you visitors from outside?" Rayleigh inquired after sipping his drink.

"Yes, Uncle! We came from Marineford," Gustave replied with a cheerful smile.

Upon hearing "Marineford," Rayleigh's hand trembled, nearly causing him to spit out his wine.

"Uncle, you look about the same age as my grandfather. Why are your hands shaking? Do you have some medical condition that needs treatment?" Luffy asked with genuine concern after noticing Rayleigh's tremor, assuming he suffered from some hidden ailment.

Rayleigh couldn't suppress a spray of wine and began coughing violently while Gustave struggled to contain his laughter.

"Tom, come check on this old man! He doesn't seem healthy! Does he have the same problem as Grandpa Zephyr?" Luffy called out, thinking Rayleigh might also suffer from asthma.

"Stupid Luffy! This old man is coughing, and Grandpa Zephyr has breathing problems—how could they have the same disease?!" Ace scolded his brother for the obvious medical confusion.

"Ahem! I'm fine—I just choked!" Rayleigh quickly waved his hands dismissively. If this continued, these two boys would probably talk him to death.

"Oh! Uncle, you should have said you were choking earlier! I thought you were seriously ill!" Luffy huffed indignantly, blaming Rayleigh for not clarifying sooner and causing unnecessary worry.

"Ahahahaha!" Gustave finally burst into uncontrollable laughter.
