Reaching the tunnel where Turbo Granny dwelled, Jin saw Momo and Okarun walking toward the entrance nervously. They arrived later than him even though they took the train because the station was located away from this place and they had to walk.
They seemed to argue about something before entering the tunnel together.
"Oh, that's bad." Jin muttered as he saw the tunnel got blocked by a large head.
Not even he could stop that gigantic hat blocking the way. Even if he could enter, he didn't want to waste time there because Turbo Granny was a crafty old hag.
"Momo will deal with that. My job is to deal with the earthbound spirit. Nothing to worry about."
Just like he thought, he felt the curse plaguing Okarun disappeared at the same time of the giant head. Jin could see they communicated with an old, wrinkly lady. He couldn't hear what they said, but it didn't matter.
Everything happened so fast. Momo challenged Turbo Granny in a race and got caught, followed by Okarun. Remembering the legend, he braced himself and bit Turbo Granny's tit.
Or so it should've been.
"Don't even try."
The old, wrinkly lady disappeared from where she stood, causing Okarun to crash against the ground, face first. She appeared behind him, ready to strike him.
Crash!
"Ack!
Before she could land a blow however, a loud slam was heard, signaling Jin's arrival with a black smoke. He grabbed the Turbo Granny and smashed her into the wall, cracking it with tremendous force.
Smoke started dissipating from his presence, revealing his appearance.
"Are you okay, Okarun?"
"Jiji?!" The glassed nerd screamed hysterically seeing him show up out of nowhere and rescue him. "How did you get here?"
"That's not important, no? Rescue Momo and run back to Kamikoshi City. Leave this one to me." He rested the metal bat against his shoulder.
The sight made the skinny boy tremble even worse than usual. His knees buckled beneath himself causing him to collapse backward onto the floor.
"B-But—"
A scream interrupted him and made Okarun whip around, looking for the source. There stood Turbo Granny returning from Jin's attack and glared at them with an enlarged head.
"It's you!"
"What if it is?" Jin stepped forward as he looked down condescendingly upon her ugly form, "Now, Okarun!"
"Y-yes!"
Stumbling around, Okarun managed to pick himself up and went to Momo. He helped her escape from the hands holding her and they escaped together. As they ran, Momo turned around and shouted.
"Jiji!! Be careful!"
Smiling, he saluted before turning his attention towards the enormous apparition before him who growled angrily.
"The boy who ruined my plan again... This familiar yet disturbing presence... A youkai power? How come you have that power?"
"Now, now, old lady. Just let me beat you into submission and leave me alone," he replied nonchalantly without caring whether she understood or not. "You won't die if I smack you hard enough, right?"
Saying thus, he brandished the bat overhead threateningly before slamming it home straightaway. However, Turbo Granny moved faster than he could imagine. She leapt upward to avoid getting hit and then latched onto the ceiling of the tunnel where she stayed momentarily.
"What an arrogant brat!" She snickered loudly.
"Ohh, very impressive. You should be in a circus instead, you crazy old hag." He retorted sarcastically whilst staring at her upside down figure hanging precariously overhead.
In response, Turbo Granny laughed again, louder this time, and stretched herself toward Jin's direction, attempting to snatch him. He dodged to the left, but not before he got scratched deeply on the cheek by her claws.
A trickle of fresh blood flowed down his jaw line where a wound was inflicted upon him.
She cackled triumphantly, gloating over her success until a sudden impact slammed right into her chin knocking her backwards violently.
"That's what you get for messing with me, you old hag. At least appear as pretty as granny Seiko."
The old youkai tumbled several meters away before regaining balance with feet firmly planted against the rocky surface underneath. She shook head vigorously while wiping bloodied nose from a recent blow received from Jin's swing.
As soon as she regained senses again however, she screamed furiously.
"Bound spirit! Kill him!" Turbo Granny shouted frantically at an empty space near the exit door leading outside the tunnel area.
Suddenly, a massive crab appeared behind her, bigger than any creature Jin ever witnessed so far aside from a UFO spaceship earlier that night.
'An Earthbound Spirit. It looks more menacing than I thought.'
"This is troublesome. Seems like I have to become more serious."
For the first time ever, he activated the skill he gained from assimilating with Nurarihyon.
"Kyouka Suigestu."
Black smoke rose from his body and his presence became thinner. He suddenly disappeared from Turbo Granny's sight, making the old youkai shout.
"This presence! As I expected. How did you get his power, you insolent brat! The wretched Nurarihyon!" Turbo Granny screamed maniacally and ordered the Earthbound Spirit to search Jin's whereabouts. "Destroy everything!"
The gigantic crab roared fiercely as it lifted its huge pincers and struck everywhere indiscriminately creating large craters within the tunnel interior where walls crumbled apart due to heavy impacts produced by the monster.
Dirt fell from the ceilings above where cracks spread throughout the entire length of tunnels surrounding them creating an eerie atmosphere akin to being trapped inside a cave collapsing inwards on itself slowly closing off all possible means of escape.
However, Jin had long since exited the tunnel thanks to his skill.
He already stood on top of the hills overlooking Turbo Granny and Earthbound Spirit rampaging through tunnels aimlessly, destroying everything their path trying desperately to locate elusive foe hiding somewhere unknown location nearby.
From the look of it, they had merged, seeing the large eyes and white hair belonging to Turbo Granny appeared on the massive crab's body.
'Damn, that was dangerous. My skill can only hide my presence, so if that claw comes I am toast.'
Thankfully, he was thinking fast when the bound spirit emerged. But unfortunately, he also left behind Momo and Okarun.
'Well, they should be fine. Now the problem is...'
Not only was the bound spirit strong, now it was as fast as a bullet train thanks to the Turbo Granny. To defeat her, he needed firepower. Something that belonged to one of the strong exorcists in the area.
'I need to bait her to Kamikoshi City so granny Seiko could deal with her.'
It was now a game of tag.
And who could defeat a Nurarihyon in it?
So he appeared before Turbo Granny once again, taunting her.
"What's up? Catch me if you can."
