Chapter 7 - Chapter 6 – Butterfly Effect

In the morning, Okarun made a commotion by saying he wanted to take a poop.

Long story short, Momo and Seiko woke up first and took care of it. Jin heard the commotion of them running through the house and woke up.

Yawning, he walked down the stairs and found Granny Seiko leaning against the wall while Momo looked at the open toilet door. Sitting inside was Okarun taking a poop furiously.

'Don't tell me he's really taking a crap?'

"Oh, you're here." Seiko glanced towards him before pointing her thumb at Okarun. "He's taking a shit."

"Holy shit, with an open door?" Jin commented loudly as he joined them watching.

"Look how much he poops."

"Please don't mention that!" Momo complained and turned to Okarun. "Just so you know, this is really embarrassing!"

However, instead of being ashamed as per usual, this time it seemed like he couldn't care less. Silence reigned supreme between everyone present except when Momo suddenly mentioned something.

"Um, grandma? Your nose is bleeding. Did you-"

Hearing that, Jin snapped out of his sleepiness and transformed. He stood before Momo, shielding her from the toilet door.

"Get back, Momo."

"Huh?"

Turning around, Momo saw a large hat with evil red eyes peeking inside. Compared to Okarun's tiny body, the head was way larger and filled the room. A disgusting stench and slimy substance surrounded him.

"T-Turbo Granny! Grandma, Turbo Granny has appeared!"

"It's no use, Momo." Jin said, narrowing his eyes.

Confirming what he said, the large head spoke.

"Indeed. This is a mere shadow where time flows only for us. Come to the tunnel tonight. If you don't-"

Thud!

Without waiting for her to finish, Jin threw a punch right in the middle of Turbo Granny's forehead. With enough force, he sent Turbo Granny flying straight into the walls surrounding Okarun who sat unmoving inside the toilet seat.

The loud noise broke the silence and everything returned normal, including Okarun's head. Blood dripped from his nose profusely due to the Turbo Granny's attempt to invade his mind.

"Grandma!" Noticing Seiko moving again, Momo shouted desperately. "Your ears are bleeding too!"

"What the?"

Seiko wiped the blood coming from her left ear with her finger, staring blankly at the crimson liquid sticking onto her digits. Then, she noticed the talisman on the wall turned black and turned serious.

"Jiji, tell me what happened." She turned to Jin, who reverted back to normal.

"Mm, Turbo Granny came from the toilet seat," He explained briefly about the situation earlier.

He also added that she mentioned tonight or she would probably kill them all with the curse.

"That explains the talisman being torn apart like tissue paper..." Seiko grumbled while taking out a cigarette, puffing it after she lit it. "Prepare yourself. It seems we have no time to train at all. You will race Turbo Granny tonight or say goodbye to your schlong forever, boy."

"Yeah!" The nerdy boy shouted energetically despite still being weakened physically by Turbo Granny.

Everything seemed to go like what happened in the manga, but Jin wasn't so sure if things would be alright.

Because of him, Momo and Okarun had changed from what he remembered. It was possible for the future to change too if there were differences in the present timeline. Everything depended on them now.

When he was about to return and change his clothes, Seiko grabbed him by the shoulder and stopped him.

"Jiji, if you can keep them safe tonight, I will reward you for your troubles." She whispered in a sultry voice, sending shivers down his spine.

"Granny, are you serious?"

"Aren't you the one who made advances to me last night? Rewarding a kid like you isn't a big deal for someone my age anyway," She shrugged lightly then flicked away ashes falling from her cigarette stick. "Just make sure nobody gets hurt during the trip. I am worried about Momo."

Crossing his arms, Jin nodded.

[The world's story has been progressing.]

It seemed like he had to work harder.

"I'll keep an eye on them."

That night, Seiko donned a proper exorcism outfit to put defensive charm on both Okarun and Momo, who wore their respective clothing too.

Miko wore a miko outfit with a headband while Okarun wore clothes that seemed to come from an exorcist movie, the follower of a miko, with a paper mask to hide his face.

Meanwhile, Jin watched the process from the side. The bell in Seiko's hand chimed twice as she chanted sacred words. A warm light enveloped the teens, forming an invisible barrier around their bodies.

Seiko raised her gaze up toward the sky and muttered under breath, "Protect these children. May the divine grace protect them."

Sensing a wave of spiritual energy emitting outwardly, Jin's eyes widened slightly. This was something that couldn't be felt from the manga. Seeing it directly was truly different compared to reading and looking at the panel.

He grinned widely, liking the feeling. To be able to witness real event from the manga he had read was satisfying.

"This is interesting."

"It might be interesting to you but it will be pretty dangerous for both of them." Seiko approached him after hugging Momo and said farewell, "Remember what I told you earlier?"

"Of course." Jin nodded, affirming her words before continuing on, "I will hide from afar and interfere when they are in danger. Turbo Granny is wary of me after I hit her twice, so the risk of her doing something unpredictable is high."

"Right. Bring this bat with you. It may come in handy." Seiko handed him a baseball bat"

"Thank you, ma'am. You're the best."

"I see that you're still a genius." Seiko loved to be praised so she smiled and tapped his shoulders. "I will make sure to reward you well when you return. Even a split isn't impossible."

Taking the bat with him, Jin transformed and grinned.

"I will take your words to heart." He waved goodbye to them and dashed away, following Okarun and Momo who departed first.

Turbo Granny's tunnel was located slightly away from the city, making it hard to reach by normal means. However, the transformed Jin was far from normal.

He jumped across tall buildings easily as he ran atop roofs and leaped high up in the air before landing gracefully upon concrete pavement below. The wind whistled sharply past his ears as he moved swiftly like a lightning bolt shooting forth from heavens above.
