Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 The Bravery Soul

Princess on the Corner

Princess sat quietly in one corner of their house.

She thought the house was filled with sorrow and sadness.

Maybe it was because growing up without the kind of perfect family that everyone else seemed to have was very hard for her. Not everyone could understand her.

Her mother came from a very prominent family.

her mother had twelve siblings, and every one of them was successful in handling their own careers and businesses. Some owned construction companies, while others managed farms in Silang, Cavite—coffee farms and orchards filled with fruit trees.

Everyone was watching her.

One wrong move, and they would all get angry. Some even whispered harsh things about her.

Why? Because she chose to live the way she wanted.

She didn't care if she ended up alone. She believed she could continue life without depending on anyone else.

Still, she felt hurt by her mother. Her mother was kind to others, but when it came to her, she always reminded her:

"I carried you into this world. I fed you. I gave you everything—even when your father didn't give support."

Princess was tired of hearing those words over and over again.

Her mother's family judged her, too. To them, Princess was too carefree, too bold.

Some said she was hard-headed.

Others said she acted like a gangster—someone no one could challenge.

But no one knew the truth.

Behind the toughness, she was just a girl tired of fighting for her life alone.

She was only sixteen.

She was about to graduate from high school.

And then there was a boy—a rich young man from a well-known family.

He always chased after Princess.

But Princess acted like one of the boys so that people would fear her and keep their distance.

Everyone else gave up.

Everyone… except for one boy who never stopped chasing her.

"Stop chasing me, Cream'O!

I'll never dream of having a boyfriend like you.

You're just too good to be true—the kind of guy every girl is dying to be with.

But don't ever wish I'll belong to them…

Because if you dream of that, it will turn into a nightmare!"

Princess stopped in front of Phoenix, glaring at him with a look full of disgust.

"I'm not Cream'O, my Princess," Phoenix replied, smirking.

"Maybe Cream'O is one of your favorite cookies.

So… am I your favorite too?

Is that why you call me Cream'O?"

Phoenix smiled as he looked at her.

He knew she was about to explode any moment—like the Mayon Volcano, perfectly shaped yet dangerously fierce when it erupts.

"I'm just tired of playing your little dramas!" Princess snapped.

"A boy like you is not my cup of tea.

If someone broke your heart, you'd probably go running to your mom or dad, throwing tantrums like a spoiled child.

I don't like boys like you.

Look around you! You're always surrounded by so many friends…

What's the matter? Too scared to be alone?"

With those sharp words, Princess turned away and continued walking without looking back—

leaving Phoenix behind, still calling her Cream'O.

Phoenix kept staring at the girl who had just walked away after throwing those sharp lines at him.

She spoke as if no one cared.

She spoke boldly, without fear.

He wondered why she was like a wild bird—

untouchable, always flying free.

All you could do was watch her in amazement.

Phoenix couldn't help but admire her beauty—

a beauty she never even acknowledged, as if she didn't know how much of a goddess she really was.

Her voice was sharp, sometimes even rude, yet her face was angelic.

Her innocence shone in her features, but her eyes told a different story—

they carried the fire and fierceness of a volcano ready to erupt.

She was always angry, always guarded.

And Phoenix was determined to find out why.

He made a silent promise to himself:

One day, Princess would fall in love—

and it would be in his arms.

Phoenix smiled widely.

"For now, baby, you may act like a tiger.

But soon… you'll learn to love this Cream'O you keep calling me."

Princess's temper flared the moment she saw that boy.

OMG! He's still just a high school kid… and yet he flirts like some old, desperate man!

Damn! Why am I even one of his so-called apples of the eye?

She didn't have time for such nonsense.

Flirtation? That was the last thing she needed.

She had too many problems already—problems nobody saw, problems everyone dismissed as "just her being hard-headed."

To her family, she was the black sheep.

The thought alone exhausted her.

Her relatives constantly labeled her as difficult, stubborn, someone they should just give up on.

If she can survive alone without her mother's support, then let her be! —that's what they believed.

And so, Princess lived like a shadow.

Unnoticed. Invisible.

And on the rare times they did notice her, it was only to rant at her:

"What will you do with your life?"

"Why are you so hard-headed?"

Everyone talked trash about her without thinking, never realizing how deeply their words cut.

But Princess had built her walls. She didn't care anymore.

As long as she could go to school, and as long as she had a few coins in her wallet for snacks, she was fine.

She never asked her mother for money.

Why would she?

After all, she had already learned to follow what her siblings said:

"Leave her. She can do it alone. That's what she gets for being rude."

And so, she carried it all—

the name of the black sheep,

the weight of being misunderstood,

and the silent strength of a girl who refused to bow down.
