Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

[First Update]

I just saw that novel on the snark ranking list — "Naruto: The Direct-Death Loli"…Well, now I get how those rankings work. They're being gamed way too hard… just look at chapters seven and eight over there.

Not that I'm criticizing.

What I am saying is… everyone, why don't you help bump my story up too? Extra chapters are waiting!

The rules are simple…

Top 10 on the snark list = 1 bonus chapter.Top 6 = another bonus chapter.Top 4 = another one.Top 3 = yet another.

And it's not just the snark rankings—favorites, clicks, recommendations, monthly tickets, and even (eventually) subscription charts all count too.

Once I hit the Top 3, there'll be a minimum of two chapters a day, without breaks for any excuse. That'll become my main writing project. And in the future, three or even four chapters a day could totally happen. That's the deal!

Mui's expression was… awful.

Truly awful.

Ding— Offer up your virginity, girl! Find someone and give it away.

Quest Reward: 50 Corruption Points.

"This is way too much…"

Her face darkened as she exhaled slowly.

She considered it for about a second, then made her choice. She wasn't doing it. She was abandoning today's quest.

After all, from what she remembered from her past life's biology lessons, doing that sort of thing at her age could actually harm her body.

That was the real reason. As for "virtue" or virginity… what was it worth, really?

Could you sell it for, say… two and a half Sage of Six Paths?

Besides, she hadn't been relying on the system all that much anyway.

According to her own conspiracy-theory reasoning, these kinds of carry-along systems often ended up being controlled by the real final boss.

If not for the bloodline rewards—like a sliver of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's bloodline being directly seized, or Saiyan bloodlines being granted through full reincarnation—she wouldn't even use anything the system gave her, aside from a few tools.

Because in the end, the only power you could trust was your own.

What if there was some hidden plot? (Spoiler: there actually wasn't.)

Sure, maybe the system was just the twisted indulgence of some unknown "author"—that was the safest possibility.

But who knew if, one day, said author might get a dumb idea and tack on a "final boss" twist to the system itself?

So… if she could avoid using it, she would.

Even though those fifty Corruption Points were tempting… she shook her head.

"No. My body's growth matters more than some lousy corruption stat."

Having decided, Mui sat up slowly, still in a sour mood.

Then—

"Shadow Clone Jutsu."

"Alright, you guys, carry on with yesterday's training."

She waved them off casually.

"Yes, yes…"

Mirroring her mood, the clones trudged away with low spirits, heading to the training grounds to practice.

"…Yeah. At times like this, buying something nice for myself is definitely the way to go."

Thinking that, Mui stepped out of her room and crossed the yard toward Kakashi's house.

"Oh… sleeping, huh? Makes sense. He probably trained late last night."

Not seeing him around, Mui scratched her head and went straight to his bedroom door. She pushed at it—locked.

BANG!

Mui kicked it open.

Inside, Kakashi shot upright from his futon, eyes wide in panic.

"Hey! What the hell are you doing?!"

"Ah, nothing. I'm just hungry, and I don't have any food at home. So I came to get some money from you."

"…Why from me? Don't you have your own?"

"Eh? I can't spend my money on something like this!"

Kakashi frowned. Staring at her stubborn, unbudging face—that you're not getting rid of me unless you pay up look—he sighed in defeat.

"…Fine. I'll get you some."

"Now you're talking."

Pleased with her successful shakedown, Mui nodded in satisfaction as she pocketed the cash.

"Well then, I'm heading out. Want me to bring you back anything?"

"No!"

"Got it." She paused, then added, "In that case, I'll be off."

As Mui left, Kakashi let out a small sigh, checked the time, and muttered to himself, "…Well, it's not that early. Guess I should get back to training."
