Narrator's POVYears blurred in Hell, but Keiran always knew when to look beyond its flames. Whenever the veil thinned, he sought glimpses of the mortal world — the Spellmans' home, the little red-haired girl laughing, crying, stumbling as she learned to walk.
Lucifer never knew. To him, Keiran was the blade at his side, his sharpest weapon, the obedient heir of Pandemonium.
But in the quiet moments, when duty was done and the fires lulled, Keiran's eyes always turned outward — toward her.
Age 4 — Sabrina's POV (Faint Memory)She toddled across the Spellman mortuary's garden, chasing a black cat. For a moment, she thought she saw someone standing by the iron gate — tall, dark-haired, with eyes that seemed to glow faintly.
She blinked, and he was gone.
Later, when she asked Aunt Hilda about the man at the gate, Hilda only laughed softly. "Imagination, poppet. Just your imagination."
But Sabrina never quite forgot.
Keiran's POVFrom the shadows of the mortal world, he watched her. Not interfering. Not yet.
He saw her first scraped knee. He saw her cry when she realized her parents weren't coming back. He saw her laughter with Hilda and Zelda.
Each time, he clenched his fists, forcing himself not to step forward. She had to live her mortal childhood without knowing what waited beneath the surface. His promise wasn't to control her life — only to guard it.
But once, when she was seven, she almost drowned in the river. Keiran's magic stirred instinctively — the water shifted, carrying her safely to shore. No one knew why she lived. She never saw him there, hidden among the trees, but he saw her. He always saw her.
Lilith's POVShe knew.
She knew her son was slipping away from Lucifer's chains and tethering himself to Sabrina instead. She never spoke of it, but sometimes, when they were alone, she would whisper:
"Do not break for her, Keiran. Protecting her will make you weak."
He would only look at her with those gray-silver eyes, his face a mirror of the man she once loved and hated.
"Or it will make me strong."
NarratorAnd so, as Sabrina grew, so did Keiran's silent vow. He walked through Hell at Lucifer's side, commanding demons, enforcing his father's will…
But his heart was elsewhere.
Always with the girl who knew nothing of him, nothing of her true bloodline.
