Chapter 4 - Breath of fresh air

Walking down the dark caves red eyed i calmly looked around for any openings or maybe tunnels leading to the next floor.

If i already entered inside then wouldn't it be normal for me to go down? That was my thought after i finished doing something, which i couldn't quite picture, it felt strangely calming.

As i walked down the cave i noticed a slight change in the air unlike in the first section it felt lighter, almost suffocating me with it but my body seemed to manage as i slowly got used to the increase, then out of nowhere a singular small light appeared in front of me like a flame growing warmer.

Quickening my step i went straight to it coming closer every second feeling warmth and mild moisture in the air.

'Its just like in the lectures'

These were the signs that the person has entered the second section and was now under the bigger influence of Terra Flux.

Light grew bigger as i was just dozen meters away from it and not wasting a single moment i stepped into it.

'Ugh'

It felt as though water was poured into my body filling me up slowly from every corner of my body, i thankfully didn't panic alot and focused on controling and expelling the current trying to get rid of as much of it as i could with my abilities.

'Phew'

It took me just a few minutes to finally breath a sigh of relied and having the leisure to look around to my hearts content.

Staring at my boots i watched the alien grass leaves brushing on them slightly from the air. It looked so alive that i felt the need to kneel down and touch it. Swiping my hands on it a few times it felt marvelous, the grass was wet and quite delicate with a distinctive smell.

Having enough i looked forward to almost lose my breath as i stood on a big hill, unlike the previous section it felt surreal as whole area was now covered in green and brown from various trees and plants growing all around me and going further dozen kilometers away, even the ceiling was different covered in gray smoke which was most likely the thing called clouds.

'So that's how they felt'

If i had entered a place like this then i would never want to leave it even for a second and never come back to the dull rocky world that i grew up in.

The stories coming from them were already like a big fantasy but now that i was here i didn't have to try imagining it in my dreams how they looked or what they did, it was like my small little wish came true.

'Alright'

Gathering myself up i went down the hill carefully, straight into the forest. I felt the need to explore more, to check everything that existed in this place, these desires were now coming into my head slowly like a calming lullaby and planted themself inside.

As i walked down, the trees started to get taller and cover my view of the distance but i couldn't care less while the endless variations of vegetation were presented in front of me.

I inspected everything with curiosity from the variations of grass, to different flowers growing on the trees. There were also colorfull fruits that i saw in my house or stalls from the streets.

The more i saw the deeper i went into the forest, the area was changing slightly now having small rocks and tree stumps placed around beetween the trees.

'If im correct then it must be the remains of when the people tried to destroy this place in the old ages'

In the books it said that people were destroying this place taking everything away up to the section one but there was a problem as the forest could not be harmed without the consequences.

The rocks amount grew and i heard splashing sounds not so far from me, i knew immediately what it was as i ran straight into the direction of the sound and saw the thing called lake. Water was streaming in one direction following the carved out path in the ground, it was also surrounded by another weird yellow colored mineral that reminded me of salt and sugar slightly.

I kneeled down slightly to have a feel of the water just to slightly sink in the yellow thing and scare me a little. But i knew that it wouldn't do me any harm as i have read some books about it.

It was sand which was said to be completely safe unless one was in the big areas with it as that could have a chance of holes appearing in it and people falling to their deaths.

Putting my hand in the water it was slightly colder than i expected but good enough to not get sick after a while, feeling the current slowly pushing my hand was a little comfororting as i kneeled there until my knees started to get sore and i finally paid attention to my surroundings.

'Where am i'

Yep! I was completely lost now in this place not knowing where i came from or whats the direction towards the stronghold meaning that i was completely doomed.

In the conference room of the Delver Order were four people sitting around a big round table, there was no one else inside due to the nature of their conversation and identities of the said individuals.

- Im really sorry Eric.

A red haired woman that wore a weird pair of goggles adressed the blonde man who already had a new cigarette in his mouth.

- Its alright, i understand the situation.

He didn't seem to care on the surface but everyone in the room knew just how much he loved his sister as he had a slight complex over it.

Everyone gave a moment for Eric to think and then a gray haired man wearing white armor spoke like he was indifferent to everything that happened and was just giving a report.

- As we were exploring seventh section managing to pass floor sixty six we though that it couldn't change so drastically, we got ambushed by the sections master and were heavily injured having to escape up to the stronghold on sixth section.

It was pretty straightforward and dull from the way he spoke but the contents were way worse than anyone could imagine.

Section masters were called the special creatures that were leading the entire sections, it took weeks or even months for them to reappear but when they did, it could be said that unless you were a grade higher it was a 10% chance of survival even if the group consisted of 5 grade 7 chasm dwellers.

- And what about Light Bringer- no, Damian?

It was now a scarred man wearing light leather armor who answered his question while having his legs on the table without any respect towards the people in the room.

- Hes just crying like a baby over his wife and trying to recover her body.

- Hey!

This attitude seemed to anger the woman as she slammed her hands on the table and glared daggers in his direction to which he raised his hands mocking her.

- Woah im so scared that my words will strike your little nerve.

It seemed irrational to behave like this right now but it is what it is as they worked together for a long time and had their own ways of accepting someones death.

The mans method seemed pretty simple.

Just ignore it and act like always until people snap.

- Enough.

A stoic voice broke them out of their little discussion as the room felt colder than before, the gray haired man sat on his chair and let out a chilling aura that stopped them both from fightning and sit down.

- Let's talk about how to deal with the section master-

*Bang*

He barely finished his sentence as the rooms door was suddenly opened and a guard rushed inside sweating profusely.

- Sir Eric!

It seemed that he wanted to say something but he stopped himself to catch his breath and stand upright in respect towards his superior.

- Young master Vlad has ran into the Chasm.

The guard after a few moments felt a chill fill the room following by the sound of the side of tables side being crushed from Erics direction.
