Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Brother is Simply My Child Husband

Hoshino Miru returned to his room and first took out the light novels from his shopping bag. He had gone to the bookstore today specifically to buy books.

Due to the rain, these light novels had traces of water damage. Fortunately, the packaging protected them, or the rainwater would have soaked through.

Recently popular were isekai themes, which Hoshino Miru wasn't very interested in. He only bought a few light novels that interested him.

Of course, it wasn't just interest, but also to observe whether readers' tastes had changed.

The reason was simple - Hoshino Miru was also a light novel author.

Like most plagiarists, after transmigrating, Hoshino Miru immediately concerned himself with whether there were any missing famous people in this world.

Unfortunately, they had lived very healthy lives and left behind a bunch of famous works, giving Hoshino Miru no opportunities at all.

Hoshino Miru once thought he could only continue being a small-town test-taker, but fate left him another window.

Two years ago, he had gained the [Writing] skill from Kasugano Sora. At that time, it felt like his whole body's meridians had been opened, a very wonderful feeling.

For example, when others saw mountain scenery, they would just shout "awesome," but Hoshino Miru could spontaneously come up with "The bright moon rises from the heavenly mountains, amidst the vast sea of clouds."

This skill made Hoshino Miru decide to start displaying his plagiarist talents, planning to reference his previous life's experience, combine it with this world's tastes, and write some light novels to make money.

He didn't consider traditional literature because his skill was only LV1 at the time, barely touching the threshold, unable to write amazingly impressive works. Better to write light novels.

So two years ago, Hoshino Miru used the pen name Kaede Karen and wrote his first original light novel, submitting it to Fushikawa Bunko.

Due to excellent writing, first-rate plot, and accurately hitting otaku tastes, this light novel was immediately approved by the editor.

Soon, Hoshino Miru's debut work began serialization at Fushikawa Bunko and rushed to the top five on the bestseller list in the first month.

Hoshino Miru received many reader letters at the time, with everyone expressing that the loli mother the author wrote was really great, and they loved authors who were lolicons like this!

Regarding these letters, Hoshino Miru pretended not to see them. He was just referencing some classic works.

Even so, Hoshino Miru's performance steadily improved. Especially as his skills upgraded, he could glance at colleagues' novels, then instantly refine them, turning them into his own nourishment with endless inspiration.

At this point, he was already a well-known emerging author in the industry.

But getting back to the point, after taking out the light novels, Hoshino Miru didn't look at them but opened his computer and played a random song.

After listening for a while, Hoshino Miru completely confirmed that the skill he had obtained for free today was very powerful. Originally tone-deaf, he could now distinguish what was happening with a song's melody.

[Music Theory (LV1)] was not only a universal skill for every musician but also core equipment for composing and arranging, very important.

With this skill, Hoshino Miru would learn instruments more easily and could try composing himself, maybe replicating his light novel experience.

Just as Hoshino Miru was studying popular songs, he suddenly heard footsteps and turned to see Kasugano Sora appearing at his room's doorway.

"You finished playing?" Hoshino Miru closed the song and noticed Eriri hadn't followed up, feeling strange. "Where is she?"

"She went home." Kasugano Sora somewhat absent-mindedly hugged her stuffed rabbit, which was a birthday gift Hoshino Miru had given her as a child.

Hoshino Miru checked the time. Although it was somewhat late, Eriri usually didn't go home this quickly. Was she just wanting to play games with Kasugano Sora today?

He was still thinking about whether to message Eriri when Kasugano Sora had already walked in. Seeing the light novels on the desk, the cover exposed a white-haired, red-eyed little loli, making Kasugano Sora frown slightly.

However, noticing the title contained the word "sister," Kasugano Sora didn't mind.

"Is brother going to write novels again?" Kasugano Sora moved to Hoshino Miru's side, habitually burrowing into his embrace.

As his sister, no matter what Hoshino Miru did, of course he couldn't hide it from Kasugano Sora who lived under the same roof.

When Hoshino Miru planned to write novels, Kasugano Sora was his first reader at the time.

"Not yet, just listening to music." Hoshino Miru let Kasugano Sora burrow into his embrace, letting her sit on his lap, holding her slender waist with one hand.

The girl's body was small, seemingly light enough to be kneaded into his embrace. Smelling her sweet fragrance, Hoshino Miru touched her soft little belly, with no trace of excess fat, feeling very comfortable to touch.

Since they were at home, Kasugano Sora was now wearing a long T-shirt, through which he could vaguely see her small, budding chest, like a newly born baby pigeon, not prominent at all.

Below were shorts, exposing two well-proportioned, slender jade legs. Kasugano Sora didn't have the habit of wearing stockings. Her clean little legs were pressed together, sitting obediently in Hoshino Miru's embrace, her two little feet hanging in the air, unable to touch the floor.

Hoshino Miru held her, the girl's exposed collarbone delicate, tender and fragile, her shoulders emanating a rounded luster. Although she lacked the graceful curves a girl should have, the girl's innocent body was no longer that of the little girl from before.

Logically speaking, a sister entering puberty should grow tired of the existence called "brother," even if they weren't blood-related siblings.

But Kasugano Sora's attitude toward him hadn't changed. She would cling to him as much as she wanted, making Hoshino Miru now accustomed to their sticky relationship.

Speaking of which, Hoshino Miru remembered that Kasugano Sora had initially called him by his name, but noticing everyone called him that way, this little girl quickly changed to calling him brother.

"Brother, was the person you helped today a girl?" Kasugano Sora suddenly asked out of the blue.

"How did you know it was a girl?" Hoshino Miru knew he couldn't hide it from her, so he simply admitted it.

"I guessed." Kasugano Sora pouted. "After all, you usually like hitting on girls. All the girls in school know you."

"You don't even go to school regularly, don't randomly spread rumors about brother." Hoshino Miru didn't admit this point.

Although Kasugano Sora's health was much better than when she was little, for various considerations, whether this guy went to school completely depended on her mood.

Unless Hoshino Miru required her to go to school, otherwise this guy would just stay home surfing the internet.

"Come on, when I used to go to school, the girls in class would get starry-eyed just hearing your name and constantly ask about you." Kasugano Sora was very disgusted. She felt like her Hoshino Miru was about to become their host.

"Really?" Hoshino Miru said uncertainly. "Maybe I'm just too handsome?"

Kasugano Sora got a little angry. She pinched Hoshino Miru's arm, making him wince in pain. It seemed like every girl could instinctively learn this special skill.

"Why did you suddenly pinch me?"

"Because it's not funny at all. Brother is always like this."

"Okay, I won't joke around next time."

Hearing Hoshino Miru say this, Kasugano Sora bit her lip. She didn't know why she would get angry and dissatisfied. She just felt uncomfortable inside.

Especially thinking about Eriri, this seemingly tsundere twin-tail was actually very scheming, often using her childhood friend status to try to get close to Hoshino Miru, which bothered Kasugano Sora.

More importantly, the more Kasugano Sora thought about it, the more she didn't understand why Hoshino Miru still hadn't made a move on her.

Although it was somewhat embarrassing, in her view, rather than being her brother, Hoshino Miru was more like a child husband prepared for her by her parents and fate.

Otherwise, why would Hoshino Miru happen to be her neighbor big brother, and why would mom and dad directly entrust Hoshino Miru to take care of her?

Kasugano Sora felt gloomy and dissatisfied. Could it be that she didn't have the charm a girl should have?

The girl felt somewhat unwilling and began unconsciously grinding her body, gently rubbing against Hoshino Miru's thigh, as if testing whether Hoshino Miru would have some kind of reaction to her.

Soon, Hoshino Miru pressed down on her shoulders.
