Chapter 25 - Confrontation at Notting College

Keeping a cautious attitude, Subei didn't want Xiao Wu in danger—even if he himself seemed risky in this world.

If cultivation methods involving furnace dings existed, Northern Jiangsu would be the first to grasp them.

Surrounded by fiery gazes from men, women, and children, Liu Erlong felt immense pressure to be better protected and to swear her allegiance.

No wonder Gu Yuena was eager to marry him—she feared other soul beasts would find him!

Wait, hadn't Zi Ji been subtly flirting with him earlier?

Xiao Wu stuck out her tongue: "Okay, I'll listen to brother."

Because candied haws acted like lipstick, Xiao Wu's exquisite lips were now bright red, tempting to bite.

"Xiao Bei, you and Xiao Wu follow me closely. Notting College is west of Notting City. Honestly, junior soul master academies like it aren't very good. When your 'mother' takes you to Blue Bull Academy, you'll meet many powerful soul masters—way better than Notting College."

At that moment, Liu Erlong seemed to emerge from her heartbreak, finding a new life goal; even her expression brightened.

Yet, unknowingly, she leapt into a fire pit.

Because Notting College was the haven of the weak!

A grand arch appeared before them, crafted from solid rock, with two dark iron stainless steel doors beneath.

The arch bore four large characters: Notting College.

Subei sighed inwardly seeing it from afar: "This is where the dream begins."

He wondered if the concierge who mocked the future king was still there.

Didn't they know Tang San had already revered the master as his teacher?

Unsurprisingly, the concierge did not embarrass them.

Perhaps because they looked good, unlike Tang San's childhood humiliations.

Where could a handsome person be weak?

After all, beauty was justice.

Or maybe because of fluctuations in Liu Erlong's soul power, no one dared be presumptuous.

Just as the three entered Notting College, Subei glanced back and saw an unimpressive boy escorted by an old man.

Soon, the concierge began making ugly faces, reciting the classic mockery:

"Can a golden phoenix be born in a grass nest? Can someone from a small village wield spirit power? Are you fakes?"

Naturally, several displeased people looked down on the poor newcomers, causing disputes.

Tang San eyed the concierge with murderous intent.

Subei noticed a middle-aged man walking behind them.

He quietly pulled Liu Erlong's sleeve and nodded toward the man.

The moment Liu Erlong recognized Yu Xiaogang, her eyes revealed complicated feelings, then turned hostile.

Subei knew the drama was unfolding.

Why work hard all life when you can experience the drama early?

Close-relative marriage wasn't allowed!

He saw the previously disdainful concierge respectfully greet the master and dared not overstep.

The master took Tang San's Wuhun Hall certificate from Jack, who gave a meaningful look.

Immediately, the master took Tang San's hand, entering Notting College gate—just as Liu Erlong awaited behind a green belt.

The atmosphere tensed instantly.

Yu Xiaogang froze, faced flushed, and instinctively wanted to flee.

In the original story, he fled for twenty years after escaping.

Though Liu Erlong despised Yu Xiaogang, she still harbored some hope.

Seeing him cowardly and humiliated, she sneered,

"So, do you want to run again?"

Yu Xiaogang forced a bitter smile, eyes reddened, voice hoarse:

"Two...long, how did you find this place?"

He had hidden well but never expected to be found.

"Enough vanity. I didn't come here for you. I came because my child insisted on visiting Notting College—otherwise, I'd never have come."

Liu Erlong's face remained indifferent.

The more she saw the man she once loved avoid their emotions, the more she despised him.

Yu Xiaogang was speechless.

Liu Erlong too.

Then Yu Xiaogang asked bitterly,

"You... have kids?"

Liu Erlong nodded:

"These are my two children, Xiao Bei and Xiao Wu. They're beautiful, right? Don't you have children too?"

Liu Erlong glanced at Tang San, thinking wryly that he wasn't as handsome as her son.

Subei grew increasingly excited inside:

"Isn't it your fate, Liu Erlong? You'll never have children as beautiful as Xiao Wu and me when we're with you. Let's ignore that scumbag and go!"

Subei tugged Liu Erlong's arm, preparing to leave.

Yu Xiaogang's face darkened.

This boy had a terrifying aura—how could he be so rude?

"You're just a kid. You don't know anything. What nonsense!" Yu Xiaogang barked.

Subei pointed at him, saying sharply,

"See? I was struck by you. I'm anxious!"

"Why hurry? Why call me a scumbag? My feelings are deeper than the stars and purer than the white moonlight!"

Is this urgency?

Has it been exposed?
