Chapter 36 - Hardware Enchantment Application

Now having a clearer understanding of how enchantments code work, I now paid attention to the enchanted equipments.

On the equipments was the same rune engraved onto the surface of the item.

The engraving was short, simply telling the name of the enchantments such as protection 2 on the armor or power 1 for the bow.

This left me a little confused on how one phrase or word can contain an entire code on the object, let alone execute that code.

The more I look at it, the more I'm confused with it. Having come to a stall on that path, I decided that I needed some practical experience with enchantment.

Grabbing a bow and a compatible enchantment. I headed toward an anvil I found in the workshop area of the outpost.

Remembering how the blacksmith enchanted the leather boots, I placed the bow on the anvil and then laid the enchantment book on to with the book open facing the bow.

When the blacksmith did it,he didn't seem to care about what page number it was and simply opened the book and place it on then hit it with the hammer several times until the book vanished.

His hammering pattern was interesting though the blacksmith started hammering the book from the top right and then move left without leaving any missed space.

He kept hammering all the way to the right then move down a little and start hammering again repeating the processes until he reached the bottom.

It look like he was reading the book with a hammer. Grabbing the forging hammer nearby, I began swinging it down against the book.

With ever swing, I could feel something being drained from me. I dont know what, it could be my experience or my life point.

But by the end of it, I felt a slighly sluggished compared to before.

Placing down the hammer, I could see a shimmering bow with a glyphs pattern engraved onto it.

The book on the other hand had mysteriously vanished from sight.

Picking up the bow, I closely inspected it.

There wasn't a dent or damage from the repeated hammering.

It was the same with the other enchanted item, a simple small word engraved onto the bow and it giving off a light purple shimmer.

Grabbing another bow and some arrow, I headed back outside.

I first notched an arrow on the normal bow using it as the controlled reference.

*Fwoosh*

The air flew through the air and soon struck a nearby archery training target. Switching to the now enchanted l bow, repeated the step.

*Fwoosh*

Like before the arrow struck the smell target near the first shot.

Setting the bow down, I approached the target and began inspecting the hit.

The first shot look like a normal hit with the arrow head embedded into the target.

The second shot on the other hand was embedded a little deeper with small miniscual crack forming around the area that was hit.

Seeing that it worked, I became satisfied with the progress.

Now all I needed to learn was how to make an enchantment book. Could I be able to just write into the book and it automatically turn into an enchantment book or would I need a crafting table.

Another question is, can I create my own enchantments.
