Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: First Meeting with Hermione

Augustus picked up the wand in his hand and examined it carefully. Unlike ordinary wooden wands, this one was made of metal and crystal.

A slender red crystal served as the core, with what appeared to be liquid constantly flowing within it, likely powerful fire elemental energy. Encircling the red crystal were two spiraling golden metal wires, making the entire wand appear exceptionally opulent.

"Absolutely beautiful, a genius combination, a completely different way of making wands."

Ollivander appeared extremely excited, his eyes fixated on the wand, filled with obsession, like a lovesick man discovering an unparalleled beauty.

"Quickly, cast a magic spell! Let me see the casting of this ancient wand; it must be truly wondrous."

Ollivander said excitedly.

Augustus was also a bit impatient. He raised the wand and chanted.

"Incendio!"

Flames erupted from the tip of the wand, but wherever these flames passed, no destruction occurred.

Where the flames had passed, the broken glass shards, the knocked-over shelves, and the scattered wand boxes seemed to rewind in time.

The glass shards were restored by the flames into a complete glass vase, the shelves were righted by the flames, and the scattered wand boxes were individually returned to their original places by the flames.

Finally, the flames, like little people, picked up the wood debris from the ground and flew to the roof, beginning to repair the broken roof. When the last flame finished repairing the roof, all the flames neatly returned to the wand.

"What kind of magic is this?"

Mr. Ollivander asked in surprise.

"It's merely a combination of the Incendio and Reparo spells. Don't be surprised, sir, it's normal procedure."

Augustus said slowly.

"Merely a combination of spells? Are Little Wizards nowadays all so outrageous? How can you possess such magic talent? It's simply unimaginable; this is absolutely impossible."

Ollivander stated firmly.

"Nothing is impossible, especially since my last name is Dumbledore, isn't that right?"

After speaking, Augustus looked at Dumbledore and smiled.

Upon hearing this, Dumbledore, with a proud expression, said, "Indeed."

"Alright, sir, I've found the wand I want. How many Galleons does this wand cost?"

Augustus asked.

Ollivander looked at the grandfather and grandson before him, a feeling of indignation welling up within him. He held up five fingers.

Dumbledore was very pleased, feeling that his position as Hogwarts Principal still had some use, so he said modestly,

"Let's make it 7 Galleons; 5 is a bit too little. Can't we make an exception?"

Ollivander looked at the old man with a playful expression, sneered, and slowly said,

"No, not 5 Galleons, it's 5,000 Galleons."

Upon hearing this, Dumbledore's happy smile instantly vanished, and he quickly said,

"5,000 is too expensive. How can a wand cost that much? Besides, apart from Augustus, probably no one else can use it."

"So what? This wand is my grandfather's relic, an artifact! And how much of my time have you two wasted? I must charge more. 5,000 Galleons, no bargaining."

Ollivander said fiercely.

Just like that, the two old men started arguing. One was fighting for his pension, while the other, feeling his years of wand-making experience had been trampled today, refused to budge on the price to save face.

Augustus looked at the two people before him, realizing the argument wouldn't end anytime soon. He had no choice but to ask Dumbledore for some money and go buy the remaining school supplies himself.

Augustus walked out of the Ollivander's Wand Shop, looked at the 50 Galleons in his bag, and cursed silently, calling him stingy. He had originally intended to ask Dumbledore for 100 Galleons.

But the old man had said something about it being unsafe for a Little Wizard to carry so much money, and would only give him 50 Galleons.

Augustus put the 50 Galleons into a small pouch, a storage bag he had made himself. It had an Undetectable Extension Charm cast on it, providing three cubic meters of space, and also a fixed Levitation Charm, so as long as the weight didn't exceed 300 kilograms, he wouldn't feel it in his hand.

Augustus walked down the streets of Diagon Alley, finding the bustling Diagon Alley quite novel. After all, seeing things that could only be seen in movies suddenly appear in reality truly gave it a magical feeling.

Augustus slowly strolled along, buying all the new and interesting items he hadn't seen before: herbs, magic candies, snacks, various small magic toys. He had filled about half a bag when a system voice suddenly sounded in his mind.

"A significant figure from this world has appeared nearby. Check in to receive rewards."

"Check-in character? I've been with Dumbledore all this time, why couldn't I check in?" Augustus asked.

"The system itself is incomplete, possessing only limited functions. Previously, it could not check in characters. Now, it has recovered some energy, but will only occasionally trigger check-in missions. To restore full system functionality, please collect fragments of the origin of magic as soon as possible. Do you accept the mission?"

The system replied.

Upon hearing this, Augustus's face darkened, realizing his system was a defective product after all that. He composed himself and silently thought, "Accept."

"Host has accepted the mission. Instructions given: The system has marked the target. Host, please use a pointing spell to locate the target."

"Point Me!" Augustus took out his crystal wand and chanted.

A thin red line of light shot from the tip of the wand, forming a marked route. Augustus followed this marked route, leaving Diagon Alley and entering Knockturn Alley. After several turns, he arrived in a dark, gloomy alley, where he heard a crying female voice.

"I have no money left; all my money was used to buy books."

He saw a male Wizard in a black robe cornering a little girl against a wall, while an old Witch in a black robe rummaged through a lady's handbag nearby.

"It seems she's telling the truth; she really has no money left."

The old Witch threw down the lady's handbag and said viciously.

"Then let's sell her. This little girl is quite pretty; with that tender young face, she should fetch a good price."

The male Wizard stroked the little girl's face and said lewdly.

Hermione Granger looked at the ugly male Wizard who uttered such words and felt like she was doomed. She had only been momentarily soft-hearted, tricked by the old Witch who claimed to be ill and asked her to take her to a doctor. She had been foolishly led into this alley, not only robbed of all her money, but now this pervert wanted to sell her.

Hermione's tears flowed uncontrollably, and in her heart, she wondered who would save her.
