Chapter 83 - Ch.83

On the second floor of the Wenren Kendo Dojo in Tokyo, in Seiya's room, a figure covered in medical instruments and with an IV drip in his arm suddenly opened his eyes on the bed. A figure with her back to him was using a wet towel to wipe herself down, completely unaware that Seiya had just woken up.

Cough, cough, cough...

Seiya hadn't expected that after being trapped in SAO for two years, the first thing he would be greeted with upon waking was such a sight.

Hearing the soft cough behind her, Kirigaya Suguha at first thought she was hearing things. But she quickly realized that besides herself, the only other person in the room was Seiya, who had been in a coma for two years. She immediately turned around in surprise. When she saw Seiya's open eyes, tears instantly welled up.

"Seiya-ge! You're finally awake! It's been two years, you and Kazuto-ge have been asleep for two years!"

The moment she saw Seiya, Suguha's tears of joy flowed freely. In her excitement, she completely forgot about her state of dress and immediately hugged Seiya, who was still covered in medical equipment.

Two years ago, when 10,000 players were trapped in the SAO game, it caused a massive uproar. Kirito and Seiya were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Even though their consciousnesses were trapped in the game, their bodies needed to be fed nutrients. If their bodies died before the game was cleared, there would be no saving them. Unlike most players who were bedridden and fed with IVs, which caused them to become frail and skinny, Seiya's physical condition was surprisingly healthy due to the power-sharing from his other selves. His health indicators were abnormally good. Because of this, doctors had recommended that Seiya's family take him home, as it would be easier to care for him and would also reduce expenses.

As everyone knows, this world's Seiya was an orphan, so the burden of taking care of him fell to Suguha. Because she was a student, she hired a temporary caregiver to look after Seiya while she was at school. The cost for the caregiver was covered by the compensation from ARGUS, the electronic device manufacturer. Kayaba Akihiko might have been the one who designed the game and trapped the players, but ARGUS was also partially responsible. It was normal for players' families to seek compensation.

Earlier that morning, Suguha had received the news that her brother, Kirito, had woken up. After visiting him at the hospital, she couldn't wait to go to Seiya's house. But when the caregiver told her that there were no signs of Seiya waking up, Suguha's world came crashing down. At the hospital, she had heard from her brother that they had only woken up because Seiya had defeated Kayaba. After hearing the story, Suguha was filled with excitement and pride. Her Seiya-ge was just as amazing and reliable in the game as he was in the real world, unlike her useless brother. But when she asked what happened to Seiya in the end, Kirito fell silent.

In SAO, Kirito and the others had seen Seiya and Kayaba kill each other in the final duel. In SAO, a drained HP bar meant death, and that was an unbreakable rule. So when Suguha asked about Seiya's condition, Kirito didn't know how to answer. When Kirito was silent, Suguha got a bad feeling and rushed to Seiya's house. After seeing that he was only unconscious and all his vitals were normal, Suguha let out a huge sigh of relief. According to the news, Seiya wasn't the only SAO player who hadn't woken up. Although she didn't know the reason, as long as Seiya wasn't dead, there was hope for him to wake up.

Frustrated, Suguha went downstairs to practice kendo to calm herself down. After working up a sweat, she returned to Seiya's room. Since Seiya was still in a coma and no one else was in the room, she decided to take off her shirt and wipe herself down with a wet towel. That's why Seiya woke up to such a delightful sight.

Overcome with joy from seeing Seiya wake up after two years, Suguha didn't realize how revealing her state was. When she was facing away, it was one thing. The scene might be a little suggestive, but it was still appropriate. But now that she had turned around... Seiya felt his blood rush to his head and his nose.

After two years, I'm not going to die from blood loss the moment I wake up, am I?

Two years ago, Kirigaya Suguha was a middle school student, but now she was a high school student. And even though they hadn't seen each other in two years, Seiya could confirm that Suguha had developed quite well.

"Suguha, I'm glad to see you, too, but you're making it a little hard for me to move right now," Seiya said.

Hearing his words, Suguha finally realized how bad her situation was. She immediately turned bright red.

"Seiya-ge, I was just too excited! You didn't see anything, did you..."

Finally snapping out of her excitement, Suguha realized how embarrassing her actions were.

"No, I didn't... I just woke up, and my eyes haven't adjusted to the light yet, so I couldn't see anything," Seiya said, going against his own conscience. His vision was a bit blurry, but he had seen everything. He had even stored it as multiple JPGs in his brain's hard drive. But to save Suguha from embarrassment, he had to lie.

"(///▽///) You really didn't see anything, Seiya-ge?"

Seiya: "(▽`), No, absolutely not! I swear on your brother Kirito's eternal singlehood!"
