Chapter 56 - Chapter 56 Public Shaming

"Pedro, let's talk frankly." Anton's small face was full of seriousness.

"I did indeed learn a few things from your memories." Anton raised his fingers and explained one by one, "First is the 'Goblin Eyes' secret technique. Although I learned it through the 'Wizard's Eyes' potion, I gained a deeper understanding of this technique through your memories."

Pedro nodded, acknowledging his attitude.

"I learned two goblin potions, 'Sealed Prison' and 'Stubborn Phelps'." Anton curled his lip, "Damn it, the feeling after drinking 'Stubborn Phelps' is extremely unpleasant. I will never touch it again unless I absolutely have to."

"It feels as if life is left with nothing but a stubborn persistence, with no other thoughts or joys."

Anna's eyes widened as she looked nervously at Rosier and Pedro.

Rosier shrugged nonchalantly, "I'm used to it, it's fine."

Pedro smacked his lips, "I don't even remember."

Only then did Anna breathe a sigh of relief.

"And finally," Anton continued counting, "I also learned your 'moving figurines' technique."

Pedro rolled his eyes, "That's just a magic trick, it doesn't count."

But Anton didn't think so, "Of all the magic I've learned, this is my favorite!"

He sighed with some emotion, "Actually, I don't know much either."

Seeing the strange expressions on everyone's faces, Anton couldn't help but roll his eyes too, "What misunderstanding made you all think I'm so powerful?"

"I learned Fiennes' Potion Theory and the 'Wizard's Eyes' potion from my teacher, and from that, I developed my own 'Bionic Spells'. Currently, I can only imitate the Color-Changing Windbird and the viper, oh, and a werewolf arm."

"Other than that, the spells I know are pitifully few. The Light and Shadow Display Charm, the Navigation Pointing Charm, those two don't even count. The proper ones are the Levitation Charm, the Shield Charm, the Cruciatus Curse, the Soul-Switching Curse, and the Dislocation Soul Curse."

"Oh, the last three don't count as proper."

Anton clapped his hands together and spread them, "You see, although I've learned a whole bunch of weird things, I really haven't learned many proper spells."

The old wizard floating nearby was also helpless, "I've taught everything I can. It's all my teacher's fault, he didn't teach much in the first place."

Pedro let out a cold laugh, "For me to teach you human spells is already..."

"Huh?" Pedro suddenly felt goosebumps all over his body, his hair standing on end. He stared wide-eyed at everyone, "Why would I take on human apprentices?"

He took a panicked step back, "I clearly despise humans so much?"

"I..."

"I don't remember!!!!"

He looked at Rosier, hoping for an answer, but Rosier was also stunned, "Don't look at me, you already had apprentices when I brought Nagini to find you back then!"

Everyone looked at each other in dismay.

Pedro asked again, "Rosier, you said that my past self told you that besides my own desperate desire to know, everyone else, including me from other times, is magically forbidden from prying into that memory?"

Rosier nodded solemnly, "A blood curse. You told me more than once that you were willing to let me in to see, but in the end, we couldn't get in time and time again."

"But it's different now."

Pedro sighed and looked at Anton, "Anton, you're right. This is no longer the era of goblins. I am the sage of the goblin race, their guide. I must find a way for them to survive!"

"I need to understand this piece of history!"

"To see why I would take on human apprentices, to see why I would..."

He glanced at the large snake Nagini beside Anna with a complicated expression, "Why I would unite with a human woman and even have a child."

"Follow me."

Anton led the group to the roof of the building, where the one-meter-high walls were covered with vines of the Elephant-Eating Creeper. "These vines have a natural Repelling Charm. No one can come here unless permitted."

"I've waterproofed the roof and had a large amount of soil delivered."

Anna looked at the soil in pleasant surprise, "Are you going to plant flowers? My mother and I both love planting flowers."

Anton shrugged, "Not really. If I were to plant something, it would probably be vegetables, scallions, and garlic. I'm too busy and have no time. Of course, if you want to plant something, go ahead."

He walked to the circular platform in the center, closed his eyes, and waved his wand.

Like a conductor, countless human wizards and goblins crawled out of the ground.

"This is the scene of the final great battle between humans and goblins, I remember." The goblin Pedro shrieked excitedly, exclaiming in admiration, "It can be used like this?"

Anton chuckled, "I told you, this 'moving figurines' is my favorite."

"Next, everything I see in your memory will be displayed synchronously through these figurines, so you'll know if I've secretly peeked at anything."

Pedro had a strange look on his face, "Although this makes you seem very honest..."

His mouth twitched, "But I still think it's unnecessary. This will just let more people see my memories."

Rosier disagreed, "Pedro, I think Nagini and Anna both have the right to know this memory."

The old wizard cackled, "Like Anton, I don't remember my childhood memories either. That's all because you made us drink too many random potions. I also want to know why I became your apprentice."

Pedro's shoulders slumped, "Alright, alright."

Anton's wand danced.

Ripples appeared before his eyes, which seemed to be looking through a magnifying glass, peering deep into Pedro's memories.

On his neck, the goblin 'Collector of Time and Memory' lucky pendant also began to glow and float.

Various scenes began to emerge from the ground, finally settling on a large gate.

"Open it!" Pedro's tone was more resolute than ever before.

...

...

"Why save me! Let me die, my people are all dead, why am I alive!" Pedro was wrapped up like a mummy.

"Pedro, save it. You only survived because you, the coward, hid under a bookshelf. Don't act like you're about to die a heroic death." A witch walked in carrying a bowl of medicinal soup, her beautiful long hair loose, her eyes full of scorn.

...

"Wait!" Rosier shouted, staring at the witch in shock. "I know her!"

Everyone looked over.

"Nerida Vulchanova! She's the one who founded Durmstrang Institute!" Rosier's eyes widened, finding it utterly unbelievable. "Our Rosier family is on the board of governors for Durmstrang. I'm very familiar with the school's history, I can't be mistaken!"

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Anton raised an eyebrow, looking at Pedro, Nagini, and Anna. "The river of time you three generations have crossed is truly astonishing."

"Impossible!" Pedro cried out in alarm. "Durmstrang Institute was founded in 1253. I mean, if she gave birth to Nagini, she couldn't have lived to give birth just a few decades ago. The lifespan of a human wizard is at most a little over a hundred years."

Rosier chuckled, "But you have the Stubbornness Potion, my old friend."

"..."

The old wizard cackled beside them, "That possibility can't be ruled out."
