As An Jian was walking back and people seeming to follow her, she came to a machine she didn't notice before but now there was a huge muscular man punching a bag connected to the machine. The bag would swing up forcefully after each punch and then constantly changing symbols appeared that she didn't quite understand but a red bar in the middle also rose that she concluded was some kind of measure of strength.
A group of men who people seemed to give a wide berth to were having there own little betting game by the punching machine on who could punch the hardest, betting $20 at a time. They seem to be making a ruckus intimidating anyone who got too close, They yelled at the top of their lungs after each punch, the winner would berate the loser aggressively .
They suddenly noticed the beautiful An Jian staring at them, getting there hopes up they thought maybe she was into bad boys, and gave her a nod and a wink.
An Jian had another bright idea and thought maybe she should bet with them to try to double her money. She was use to these kind of strength competitions back at her military camp, usually at some point in the year, the soldiers would get cocky after learning some internal kungfu and punch a wooden dummy with sled like feet across the grass field, seeing who could make it move the furthest. An Jian was open to showing the soldiers who was the strongest, because the more they had faith in her the better their morale was. The last time this took place, the cocky soldiers demonstrated their internal kungfu by punching a dummy 3 meters across the field. This was quite the feat as without internal kungfu, the dummy usually wouldn't even budge an inch. An Jian smiled walked up to the dummy placing her fist only an inch away from the dummy said "You have done well but you must practice much harder" and with a flick of only her wrist, the dummy flew 10 meters and toppled over with a deep crack in the middle. The soldiers were in awe and clapped with pride that their commander was the Invincible Immortal Fang.
An Jian pulled out the $100 bill, the muscular men who had been trying to pretend to sit in a cool relaxed position suddenly got up from there poses and smiled.
"You want to bet with us?"
The man then pointed to his biceps and said "You should bet on me, I promise you I will double your money and if you want we can get a room" with a wink.
An Jian ignoring the lewd comment, "Brother I would like to challenge you to the punching strength contest"
All the men started laughing, "Is this a joke" looking around suddenly noticing there was actually quite a sizable crowd watching them.
An Jian smiling like she once did to her own cocky soldiers "No this is not a joke, lets see who is stronger"
The muscular man who had been winning the most against his buddies walked over to the machine "Sure then, if I'm nice I'll let you keep your money for being a fool today"
"You wanna go first?"
An Jian smiled and said "No after you"
The muscular man stepped back further then even when he was completing with his buddies earlier, giving himself a good running start and with great momentum gave it his hardest punch of the night, rising the red bar almost to the top with the numbers wowing the crowd.
The crowd was now feeling sorry for An Jian, "Is this girl trying to lose all her money", a girl holding a giant mouse doll and her father holding a giant rabbit doll could be heard "Father I think she will win, I know she will"
The muscular man anticipating an easy $100 put in the dollar to reset the punching machine for An Jian. "There is no backing out now, if you think this was some kind of joke, we surely didn't! So you better pay up"
An Jian walked up to the machine "No I never thought it was a joke"
The crowd held there breath not exactly understanding how this girl could be so cocky. She would get a quarter of that mans score at best they thought.
Suddenly like a gun shot the punching bag exploded into pieces, rubber shrapnel from the bag smacked the screen behind cracking the window in several places, the machine seem to malfunction and couldn't tabulate a score. The bag exploded before it could even hit the censor.
The men, some falling to the ground looked around trying to figure out if maybe someone had shot the bag with a gun from the crowd.
An Jian looked around kind of worried, as the score didn't tabulate, this might not be accepted as the winner.
Then seeing that the machine seemed broken, she started to think there was no way she could pay for damaged property, maybe it was best if she would just make a run for it.
As An Jian looked like she was about to take off, The muscular man slapped four $20 bills into her hand. She looked back at him nodded and took off making a turn for the alley, some people chased after her but once she reached the alley, she seemed to disappear
