Chapter 12 - "The Angel and the Demon"

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The heavens blazed with sacred radiance, spilling down upon File Island until even its blackened skies were painted with light.

Yukidarumon lifted his head, warmth in his icy eyes. "Is Devimon… really going to be defeated?"

"Burn it away, burn it all…" Meramon whispered, staring toward the island's center.

The oppressive darkness shrouding File Island was unraveling, giving way to light.

Devimon snarled as he felt the shift. "Damn you, Angemon! What have you done to my island?!"

"Devimon, the darkness will vanish. Light will always return."

"Lies! It's you who will vanish, not me!"

A surge of monstrous black energy erupted from Devimon, dimming the sky once more. His form twisted, cloaked in swirling shadows—like a messenger from hell itself.

"Death Claw!"

Bolts of black lightning split the sky, only to be instantly dissolved by Angemon's holy radiance.

Then came the claw itself—vast and terrible—closing around Angemon's body.

A flash of white light burst outward, sizzling against the claw. Smoke rose as Devimon howled in pain, his massive hand seared.

"No! Angemon, stop! If you use up all your strength, you'll die too!"

But Angemon paid no heed. His gaze was steady.

"Devimon… your punishment has come."

"Heaven's Fist!"

A blinding wave of holy power surged from his fist, shaking the battlefield itself. The very air shattered, fragments of space scattering as the attack tore through reality.

The light pierced straight through Devimon's body, blazing upward as though it reached the heavens themselves.

Naruto World

"What… what kind of power is this?"Sasori of the Red Sand stopped his puppet-making mid-motion, staring at the glowing screen in front of him with wide eyes.

"There's no way I could take on that angel… just one punch, and the force behind it was overwhelming."

With a sharp crack, the puppet in his hands was crushed to dust.

"Nagato," he muttered, unsettled, "that angel from another world… he won't interfere with our plans, will he?"

Nagato was quiet for a long moment before replying. "That's not a power of the shinobi world. But even if he came here, the Six Paths of Pain would have nothing to fear."

Konan's expression, however, was still clouded with worry.

Deidara, on the other hand, was practically bouncing with excitement, eyes glued to the blinding light spilling from the screen. "Art! Now that's art—so mesmerizing, so explosive!"

The World of One Piece

Inside her grand castle, Big Mom frowned deeply. "Who is this man? To hold such terrifying power… If he came to our seas, we might be facing another Emperor."

Kaido swigged his sake and laughed. "A Mythical Zoan, maybe? Hah! I wonder if he could kill me. That kind of world-shattering strength… I'd love to put it to the test. Gahahaha!"

Marineford, Navy Headquarters

"Ha! That angel isn't bad at all. Took down a demon in one blow. I'd love to see how he fares against my fists of iron."

"Karp!" Sengoku snapped. "Do you ever think before you speak? Do you realize what this could mean for the Navy?"

Karp just chuckled. "Don't get so uptight, Sengoku. I was only kidding."

But Sengoku's brow had been furrowed from the moment that strange screen appeared.

"That angel—he looks like the very embodiment of justice. What will the people think when they see this?"

The Navy prided itself on being the symbol of justice. Yet now, the transponder snails were ringing nonstop, civilians demanding answers about the mysterious angel on their screens.

The World of the Saints

"Is that… the power of a god?" Aries Mu's eyes were wide with shock.

"No… impossible. We've never heard of an Angel God." He rose quickly. "I must seek His Holiness the Pope."

From the Twelve Temples of the Zodiac, golden figures soared into the sky, streaking toward the Pope's hall.

When all twelve Gold Saints entered, the Pope's voice was steady and grave. "I already know why you've come. That being is no god. His strength is formidable, yes, but he lacks the presence of divinity."

His eyes hardened. "What you saw is a warrior from another world, one who wields the power of light. Stay vigilant. Guard the Twelve Temples well—we cannot risk intruders crossing from beyond."

The World of Fairy Tail

"An angel? A demon?" Natsu's fists burst into flames, his fighting spirit blazing. "I wanna see whose power's stronger—mine or theirs!"

"Light strong enough to rival Master?" Another mage cracked a grin. "Makes my hands itch to spar with him."

The Digital World

"Angemon… A holy Digimon," murmured Devimon, bitterness creeping into his tone. "If only I'd dealt with him sooner, I wouldn't have ended up like this. Seems I'll have to move myself… find the eighth child and destroy them before it's too late."

"Gatomon, let's go."

From the shadows, a sleek white feline Digimon leapt forward, gaze fixed thoughtfully on the angel shining in the screen.

Elsewhere, inside the Dark Whirlpool Mountain—

"So, Devimon has fallen." The voice was cold.

"Distract them with Myotismon. We cannot afford another blunder."

"Yes, Lord Piedmon." A black shadow melted away into the darkness.

Overhead, MetalSeadramon coiled through the skies, eyes gleaming. "Interesting. If Devimon made the list, then surely I'll be next. I look forward to it."

The World of Bleach

Kenpachi Zaraki let out a satisfied grin. "Good. Now that's strength worth cutting into."

Ichigo could hardly believe what he was seeing. "That angel… his power rivals the Bankai of the captains themselves."

He clenched his fists, frustration burning in his chest. "I'd never stand a chance against him. I've got to get stronger—fast."

The screen flashed—

"Ahhhhhh!"

Devimon's scream tore through the air as his body began to dissolve from the feet upward. "No—NOOO!"

Angemon stood opposite, swaying, his own form breaking apart from exhaustion.

"Angemon!"

Takeru's voice cracked, his eyes overflowing as he watched the angel slowly vanish. He reached out, powerless, as Angemon's light dimmed.

"Takeru… we will meet again." Angemon's voice was calm, warm, even as his body faded. "As long as you wish it…"

With a final burst of holy radiance, his figure dissolved completely, bathing File Island in brilliant light.

"Angemon!!!"

Tears streamed down Takeru's face, dripping onto the ground. His cry of anguish made the others lower their heads in silence.

Even watching through the screen, seeing it a second time, Takeru couldn't stop the ache in his chest.

As the light dispersed, soft feathers drifted gently through the air. One landed before him, transforming into a white-and-gold Digi-Egg.

"A Digi-Egg…"

Takeru picked it up tenderly, cradling it against his chest.

"Is that… Angemon's egg?"

"Yeah, it has to be."

"As long as it hatches and evolves, you'll see him again!"

The others surrounded him, speaking words of comfort. Their encouragement steadied his heart. He hugged the egg even tighter.

"This time, I'll be the one to protect you. I'll take care of you until you're back. Come back to me, Patamon!"

"..."
