Chapter 10 - "The Power of the Crests"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Missiles shaped like black horns tore through the sky, exploding against Devimon's body.

"Don't give up, everyone!"

"It's Joe! We can't quit—we're the Chosen Children!"

One by one, the kids stood tall. Tai, Mimi, Sora, Matt, T.K., Izzy, Joe—their Crests began to glow with holy light.

"Damn it… I have to help Tai and the others get back to their world. I have to defeat Devimon!" Greymon struggled to rise, determination burning in his eyes.

Suddenly, a white radiance washed over him. Strength surged through every fiber of his being. Slowly, he rose, joined by the others' Digimon as they, too, stood tall again.

"Devimon—this ends now!"

The Naruto World

"That was… amazing," Naruto sobbed, tears running freely down his face. "Those summons and their partners—they trust each other so completely. They'll risk everything, even their lives, just to fulfill their partner's dream. They're not just pets… they're comrades. True friends."

Sasuke stared at the Digimon fighting desperately for their partners. Images of Kakashi, Naruto, and Sakura flickered through his mind. He shook his head violently, refusing to let the thought take hold.

"No… I don't need anything else. All I want is power. If I can get my revenge on that man, I don't care if it costs me my life."

Outside the village, Jiraiya sat in the ruins of an old shrine, watching the glowing screen in the air."So it can evolve? In an instant it becomes stronger than before… what an incredible power."

He murmured to himself, "Companions, huh? Orochimaru… Tsunade…"

"Back then, the three of us were called the Legendary Sannin. Now we've gone our separate ways. Tsunade abandoned the village, Orochimaru betrayed it… I wonder if we'll ever be like we were again."

Root Headquarters

Danzo's voice was cold. "Fighting so desperately for your comrades… such a naïve way of thinking. In the end, you'll learn that only absolute power and authority last forever."

For a moment, images of Hiruzen Sarutobi and the Second Hokage flashed through his mind.

"Sensei, why? Why did you give the Hokage's seat to him? In what way was I inferior? You've always been biased…"

One Piece World

"Hah! Not bad, brats. No wonder you made it onto the multiverse anime rankings."Shanks raised his mug with a grin. "If we ever meet in person, we're throwing a party."

The Red-Haired Pirates laughed and drank, discussing the strange outsiders on the screen.

Marine Headquarters

Admiral Kizaru lounged lazily in his chair. "Just some kids fooling around. I wonder who'll show up on the rankings next."

Sengoku's face darkened. "And no one has figured out where this screen came from yet? Is someone trying to mock the Navy's authority?"

Digimon World

"Agumon… so you've sacrificed so much for us. You were even ready to risk your life just so we could go home. I'm sorry."

"Tai…"

Yamato glanced at Gabumon, guilt in his eyes. "Gabumon… I never thought you'd get hurt this badly because of me."

Gabumon shook his head firmly. "Matt, I told you I'd protect you. And I will—no matter what."

"Everyone… let's cheer on the versions of us inside that screen!"

"Let's go! Give it your all!"

"Yeah! You can do it!!!"

Dark Tornado Mountain

"Tch. That Devimon is useless—can't even handle a bunch of kids. Watching this makes me itch for a fight," rumbled MetalSeadramon.

"Wouldn't mind playing a game with them myself," another voice laughed. "Wonder how long it'll take them to reach Dark Tornado Mountain."

"Puppetmon, don't you already have friends? Why go chasing after these brats?" growled Machinedramon.

"Mind your business. You can never have too many friends," Puppetmon shot back.

"If it weren't for that meddling Gennai, I'd have wiped out those Digimon long ago. Still… dragging this out might be more fun."

Their laughter echoed through the mountain.

The Battlefield

Greymon's body blazed with fire as he lunged at the towering Devimon, claws slashing with all his might.

Flames clashed with darkness under the wide eyes of everyone watching. Greymon roared, voice filled with fury."I'll defeat you—and send Tai home!"

Fire burst skyward, painting the heavens crimson.

"Don't get cocky, brat," Devimon snarled.

Black lightning crackled across his body, devouring Greymon's flames in an instant. But Greymon, unflinching, sank his sharp teeth deep into Devimon's flesh. Black blood spilled down the demon's chest.

"Courting death…" Devimon hissed. His massive claw, wreathed in dark electricity, clamped around Greymon's neck. With a surge of power, he hurled Greymon away, slamming him into Tentomon as both crashed into a distant mountainside with a thunderous explosion.

"Greymon! Tentomon!"

"Winged Meteor!" Birdramon soared upward, blazing like a phoenix reborn, before hurling herself at Devimon.

"Cheap tricks. Death Claw!"

Devimon's talons grew, lightning swirling as he crushed Birdramon in his grip and slammed her into the earth.

"Harpoon Torpedo!"

Ikkakumon launched his weapon, the missile streaking green through the air.

Devimon swatted it aside like an insect, sending both the missile and Ikkakumon flying. The blast scorched his body black.

The demon's cruel eyes turned toward the boy in green—T.K., the youngest of the DigiDestined.

"So you're the youngest of the Chosen Children… if I eliminate you, the rest are nothing to fear."

"You're not laying a finger on T.K.!"

"***! ..."

Patamon threw every ounce of strength he had into protecting T.K., but no matter how hard he tried, none of their attacks made a difference.

The trembling Greymon roared and charged again, sinking his teeth into Devimon's body. Togemon leapt up, grabbing onto Devimon's leg. Garurumon, Ikkakumon, Kabuterimon, and Birdramon all bit and clawed at him, refusing to let go.

"We won't let you hurt T.K.—not unless you kill us first!"

Thick, black blood oozed from Devimon's body, fueling his fury even more.

"You pests dare anger me? Fine. If you're so desperate to die… then die!"

A surge of pitch-black energy exploded out of him, so cold it felt like the world itself froze. The sky turned dark, space twisted, and the ground quaked beneath their feet.

The Digimon were all blasted back, blood spraying from their mouths as they hit the ground.

"I'm… sorry…"

Their voices were weak, ragged, and soaked in blood.

Digital World

"Damn it, Devimon! I'll kill you!" Tai slammed his fist into the ground, trembling with rage.

"Tai, calm down! Don't forget—T.K. has his holy Digimon."

"Angemon!"

"That's right, there's still Angemon. Thanks, Matt."

"Let's cheer for the ones we used to be."

"Go, T.K.! Go, Patamon!"

"..."
