Chapter 2
There are a few things a lazy and introverted person does, and one of them is overthinking.
Whenever I'm alone at home or walking, I always think about different "what if" scenarios.
Like, what if I had a devil fruit, what if I had a superpower, etc. And one of those many scenarios is: what if time stops?
While I was on the streets, the only vehicle I saw was my sister's scooty. It was standing alone on the side of the street in front of the house.
I thought, "At least the scooty is here, so my sister must be home."
I tried to find her. I went to the neighbours. I called for every house owner of every house I visited — not a single person came.
One family next door sells us milk. I went to their house and shouted,
"Aunty jiii! Aunty jiii!"
while knocking on the door.
"Knock-knock, knock-knock."
No one answered.
I don't know why, but the door was open.
I went into the house — no one was there.
They had a barn where they usually keep their cows. I went there, only to find nothing. Not even the cows.
I was terrified.
Are there really no living beings left in this world other than me?
The truth was terrifying. I ran straight home.
I went straight to my room, saying God's name:
"O God, O God, O God, O God, O God… Please, please, please, please."
For the next few minutes, I did nothing but chant God's name.
After a while, I stood up, trying to calm myself. I checked my phone, but unfortunately, it wasn't working.
I tried everything, but it wasn't even turning on.
I had made a few "what if" scenarios about what I would do if time ever stopped, but I never thought the phone would stop working 😭.
I panicked even more. All my "what if" scenarios never involved the phone not working.
I hadn't even gone to the market, forget about travelling. What should I do?
I went downstairs with the scooty keys and an empty bag.
I finally decided to go to the nearest mall and pack a few edible things — and of course, to borrow, not steal, anything.
Usually, whenever I wake up, I get very hungry.
But today, I didn't feel hungry or thirsty — either because I was panicking or just not hungry.
Whatever the case, I had to get something to eat.
Before going to the mall, I went to the fuel pump ⛽ to fill the scooty's tank and a few extra bottles of fuel, just in case.
After reaching the mall, the first thing I did was go to the freezer to get ice creams 🍨🍦 because I love them.
I ate a few different types 😋 that I never had before because of how expensive they are.
I took a cold drink bottle, a few expensive snacks 🥨, and I even tried different drinks like Red Bull.
Whoever said Red Bull tastes amazing is a big liar. It tastes like cough syrup 🤢 (for those trying it for the first time — yes, it really does taste like medicine). After that, I tried a few other drinks.
I kept tasting things until I was full.
I noticed one thing: even if time stops, I still feel hunger and thirst. And if I eat, I still have to 💩 and pee.
I went to the 2nd floor of the mall where there were two shops — one for clothes and one for electronics.
I went to the clothing shop, tried different clothes, and packed them in my bag.
Then I went to the electronics store. Even though I wanted to take a new phone, a new laptop, a new TV, and a computer… I didn't.
You may ask why. Well, because after everything becomes normal (I pray it does), if I borrow electronics like a phone, the people from the mall could trace them to me, and I could go to jail for stealing.
So, just to be cautious, I didn't take anything traceable (I know, I'm a genius 😎).
After that, I took a big suitcase with wheels, of course, and packed it with different clothes and edible things 😁.
More than half of the bag was filled with snacks because I love eating 🤤.
I came home and left the bag in the hall.
I sat on the bed, thinking about what I should do, but I couldn't think straight.
My mind had been distracted by food and clothes, but now that the work was done…
I was getting scared again.
I started panicking about what was going to happen.
