Capítulo 02: Isabella.
"Pap".""pap".""pap".
Lucas stiffened after hearing three light knocks on his bedroom door, which made him slightly nervous and gave him an idea of who it could be, since there was only one person he lived with.
Nervous Lucas and not really knowing what to do, he reviewed the memories that had been coming to his head little by little; they still hadn't made it hard to know how to respond correctly.
"Eiden, are you alright? I've been hearing noises from your room for a while now, are you okay?" The voice of a young woman was heard from outside the room where he was.
Before he could answer, Lucas heard the voice of a young woman whom he was sure was the sister of the body he had just possessed a few minutes ago.
"MMM, she must have heard me while I was writhing on the floor and emptying my stomach, it should also be from when I was cleaning, even though I was trying to be as quiet as possible." After hearing the voice, his nervousness quickly faded and allowed him to think more clearly.
Approaching the door, slowly with his bare feet, he began to think what he should tell his now sister and how to behave with her, since now she inhabited the body of his brother who committed suicide.
Without thinking any longer, Lucas opened the door without thinking any further and without giving it another thought, leaving the matter of feeling bad for her for later.
What came first to his eyes was a girl about fifteen years old, with cheeks slightly sunken and her slim body, lacking the fat that a girl her age should have. She had hair down to her waist of a light red color, not as dark as his, and light brown eyes like his.
"Hey, are you okay? Why are you looking at me so strangely." Said his sister with a worried voice and look.
"Ah, yes, it's just that I've been feeling a little bad and I just threw up a little on the floor, but I already feel better." Coming out of his daze, Lucas quickly replied with what he had already thought to say.
'Although it's not that it's a lie; in reality, yes I vomited on the floor of my room'.
Coming a little closer, he placed his hand on her forehead to see if she had a fever; upon seeing that she didn't, he stepped back and said:
"Mmm, you don't seem to have a fever; you must have been very worried these days and that must have made you sick. You must be more careful, Eiden." Her sister told him after thinking carefully.
"Don't worry, I'm already feeling better; it must have been just a relapse I had from being too stressed and from not sleeping properly." Lucas explained to his sister in a carefree tone in his voice.
"Mmmm, well, it's that I also heard your voice on the other side of the room; you know our walls are very thin and our rooms are basically next to each other." His sister told Lucas after seeing that he wasn't going to say anything, but trying to probe more to see if he said anything else.
'Wow, you have a good ear, although it could also be that I'm wrong and, instead of murmuring softly, I started talking normally out loud without worrying that she would hear me. Well, even when I started thinking out loud I didn't have all the memories yet, and I didn't know I lived with someone.' Lucas thought after realizing that perhaps he hadn't been so careful of what he was thinking.
"You don't have to worry; it was just me thinking out loud after having emptied my stomach, after that it was just me passing the time while my malaise passed." He invented an excuse as fast as he could so she wouldn't worry.
With a still worried but a little more relaxed look, she said: "Well, if you say so, I won't insist anymore, but be more careful and rest better. I'm sure everything will get better." She said sincerely and in a warm tone.
A smile began to form at the corners of his lips after what she said, since it felt good that someone genuinely cared about him. Although he also had people who cared for him before, due to his little free time it was hard to spend time with them.
After letting his thoughts drift a little, he answered Isabella with a smile: "Don't worry; I already feel better. You can go back to sleep, Isabella, since tomorrow you have to go study."
"Mmm, rest well and fall asleep quickly; you look terrible, you look like a zombie with those dark circles under your eyes and pale skin; you look like you're about to die, hehehe." Isabella told Lucas in a playful tone.
Becoming stiff after hearing his now sister, Lucas couldn't help but tense up, while his previous smile couldn't help but become uncomfortable and he grew nervous as he replied her.
"Haha, very funny. Go to sleep." He quickly got over his daze as best as he could, replying to her, while his smile returned to normal.
Closing the door as he finished saying good night to his sister and giving her a goodbye.
Lucas put the door's latch back on and returned to bed to sit again on the edge of the bed while he reflected again.
'That last thing me nervous.'
'Well, back to the topic of reviewing my memories, since apparently I'm not going to be able to go back, I can't come up with any way to return, I don't even know how I got here.'
'The first thing I need to know is what kind of world I am in, since if I have transmigrated to another world I must pay close attention to my memories.'
'Well, according to my memories, right now I'm 19 years old, and it is the year 2000, June 4th, more exactly, which is good to be in a modern era and not in the Middle Ages; although that was obvious by the light bulb with the switch.'
'It's also good that it's this year, since the decade of the 1990s and early 2000s is where there was a technological boom; from the year 2000 onward many websites and applications were invented in which I could invest early on.'
'Now, the main problem with that plan is that I have no money. This body has savings, but not enough to do anything; if I spend the savings we would have nothing to eat in the coming days.'
'MMM, then what are my options; I can't do much like this with basically nothing.'
At that moment, Lucas opened his eyes wide, as important memories began to come into his head.
Memories of people with extraordinary powers that appeared in the news from time to time, showing the destruction they caused and the irrational hatred of people toward them; also logos of large industries that only existed in movies or comics: Stark Industries, Oscorp Industries, and the Baxter Foundation, three large industries. In a world that Lucas remembered existed in a single cinematic universe that was Marvel.
"This is bad, this is very bad; it wouldn't matter if this were the universe of the movies since the greatest danger is Thanos with the Infinity Gem and other dangers that I don't remember very well, but this is basically the universe of the comics with many elements included, where the writers draw and did what they wanted." Panicking, Lucas couldn't contain his voice and said it out loud, though he quickly recovered as best as he could.
'Well, although this basically is real life and not all follows a script written by a writer who doesn't care about a logical story, and just do what happens in different universes.'
'Well, the main problem remains: I here, with all this of the different ways I could die, still need money to survive and, even if I wanted to do something for the universe, I can't do anything; I'm just a normal human, I don't have powers or a system that could help me become stronger'.
