Lux and Vi took turns holding Powder, and while the Enforcers were still several culverts away, they slipped into the mine shaft.
They had originally intended to go to the fake mine shaft to throw them off, but after Vi saw some figures behind the Enforcers, she decisively pulled Lux and turned to go to the real mine shaft.
"There's a traitor!" After entering the mine shaft, Vi spat angrily, "I saw the guy following the Piltoverians; that's a scumbag from the next block. Our disguise probably won't fool him!"
"What's going on?" Hearing Vi say this, Lux promptly handed Powder to her, then summoned a patch of Shimmer in her palm. "The Enforcers are with Zaunites... are they coming for you?!"
"Pesky curs." Vi snorted, not denying it. "Later, you and Ino, leave with Uncle Benso. Vander said Marcus wouldn't make things difficult for you—remember to take Powder."
"It's too late." Lux shook her head. "Why don't we just block this place up and then clear the last section of the tunnel with all our might? We're not far from the end..."
"Then we'll all be trapped here!" Vi clearly disagreed with this risky plan. "Their target is me; there's no need for everyone to be stuck here!"
"Don't be nervous, the end of our excavation isn't a dead end." Lux was quite relaxed. "There's a safe ruin at the very end, and the terrain in the mine shaft is quite complex, so they can't do anything to us..."
As she spoke, they ran into Claggor and Mylo, who were carrying buckets.
Lux extinguished the light in her palm immediately.
"You're too slow." Mylo, wearing a miner's helmet with a lamp, swung his empty bucket. "We've already made one trip..."
"Get out, Mylo!" Vi put Powder down. "Take Powder, go around the fake mine shaft, and return to the tavern to find Vander! That scoundrel Marcus has brought Zaun's traitors to block us!"
"Marcus brought Zaun's traitors?" Mylo unceremoniously dropped his empty bucket and grabbed Powder. "Then what are you waiting for?"
"They've already targeted this place." Vi turned and continued deeper into the mine shaft. "Mad dogs always need a bone to behave."
"Don't be a hero!" Mylo instantly understood Vi's intention. "If anyone's staying, it's me. You can't pick locks; if you get locked in Stillwater Prison, you'll never get out—"
Then, he and Vi were both yanked by Claggor and pushed towards the entrance of the cave.
"I'll do it."
Claggor said with a firm tone.
Then, as the four of them were talking, a voice from the darkness in the direction of the cave entrance interrupted them.
"You don't need to argue about who's staying, children." The owner of the voice seemed to sigh. "Don't worry, I'm not a bad person. I just hope to have a good talk with Vander with your help."
"Who's there?" Mylo twisted the lamp on his head. "Come out, you hidden scoundrel!"
"Little gophers still have the nerve to call others hidden." In the dim light of the miner's lamp, a slender figure appeared before them. "Do you remember me, Vi? I even held you when you were little..."
"Silco?" Vi widened her eyes in disbelief. "Did you lead the Piltover Cops here?!"
"They just happened to be in the right place at the right time." Silco also lit the flashlight in his hand, and as he swung his arm, the shadow beneath him sometimes stretched long and sometimes shortened, like a beast waiting to devour someone. "This young lady... you must be Lux, right? This doesn't concern you. Would you mind leaving for now and letting me have a good talk with these children?"
Vi subtly shook her head towards Lux.
But after a moment of thought, Lux chose to raise her hands and slowly walk past Silco, heading towards the outside of the cave.
"A wise choice, as expected of Kalamanda's young lady." As they brushed past, Silco even gave Lux a smile. "If there's an opportunity in the future, we can cooperate..."
"..."
Lux said nothing, just walked quickly with her head down, her figure quickly disappearing around the corner.
And watching Lux leave, Vi suddenly felt a sense of relief, but also a sense of loss—she bit her lip, her gaze once again fixed on Silco.
"What exactly do you want?" Vi's voice was filled with unrestrained anger. "Are you going to be a Piltoverian's dog too?"
As she spoke, Vi deftly flattened two tin buckets, removed their bottoms, and directly put them on her arms.
"If Vander can teach you a lesson, so can I."
"Oh, I'm so scared." Silco grinned indifferently. "Sevika, Vi says she's going to teach me a lesson!"
"Quiet, Vi." Behind Silco, Sevika's tall figure appeared silently. "This is Silco and Vander's business—it has nothing to do with you four children. The Piltoverians will have bad luck here; we are doing this for Zaun."
"You traitor!" Seeing Sevika, Vi became even more enraged. "Vander once trusted you so much—"
"But he is no longer the Vander he once was." When Vander was mentioned, Sevika shook her head with a hint of helplessness. "He is too weak; a weak person cannot take care of Zaun."
"So you're running with this scoundrel?" Vi gritted her teeth. "You listened to his smooth talk, thinking he could give Zaun a bright future? Damn it, he's a scoundrel, a spineless coward..."
"Alright, Vi, quiet down." Sevika frowned, hesitated for a moment, and ultimately did not draw the dagger from her waist. "If you can't learn to shut up and wait, I will teach you—just as Vander taught you to box."
"You don't deserve to mention his name!" Vi suddenly raised her fists and charged towards Sevika, "You disgraceful traitor!"
Vi's attack was very forceful. Although the two flattened buckets couldn't be considered proper boxing gloves, they were at least very effective weapons—especially when Vi struck with full force, the two buckets made a clanging sound, which was at least very intimidating.
Unfortunately, in Sevika's eyes, such an attack was full of flaws and not worth mentioning.
"You're ten years too early to beat me." She easily dodged Vi's attack, then grabbed Vi's arm, making the full-force punch smash directly into the mine wall. "Vander was right, you need to learn defense properly..."
"I don't need you to teach me!" Vi roared, twisting her body, and again swung her fist straight at Sevika's face, "You... scoundrel!"
