Five months have passed since Luky's secret marriage. The four wives have shown the development of healthy pregnancy under the strict supervision of Dr. Aisyah and the system in Sanctuary Bunker. The atmosphere inside the bunker is a mixture of medical routines and calm anticipation.
Luky was at the command center, monitoring the latest operations to the remnants of the Consortium cells in Romania, when his personalized personal phone rang. That is the number of his family home in Jakarta. He picked up the phone.
"Mother?" Luky answered.
"Luky Pratama!" Nana's voice shouted, her mother, with anger that almost exploded. "What do you want to explain?"
"Explain what, mom?" Luky asked, he could guess the direction of the conversation.
"Don't pretend to be stupid! Is this news that gets to your ears? Are you married? Four wives? And they are all pregnant? And you don't know anything? Mother is not invited?" Nana shouted, her voice trembled with anger and hurt.
Luky sighed. He knew that one day this secret would be revealed, but he hoped to have more time. "Mother, I can explain. This is a very complex security problem."
"Safety? What does that mean? Mother is your mother! Your younger siblings, sides and Adi, they also don't know! We are all like strangers to their own children! Who do you think you are? Hardik Nana.
In the background, Luky could hear the voice of his younger sister, Sisi, trying to calm his mother. "Mother, calm down first ... maybe Sis Luky has a reason ..."
"Any reason is unacceptable!" Cut Nana. "He must come here now and explain everything! Or Mother will go to his office and make a fuss!"
Luky is aware of the critical situation. His mother's anger could trigger unwanted publicity. "Mother, don't go anywhere. I will come now."
"Okay! Come now!" Nana ended the call roughly.
Luky immediately ordered the car preparation. He told Natasha that he had to go to handle "urgent family affairs" and would soon return.
The trip to his family's house in the elite area of South Jakarta feels long. Luky thinks of a strategy to explain the situation without endangering them or its operations.
When he arrived, his dark car and bulletproof attracted the attention of neighbors. His bodyguards who were dressed in plain were standing guard around the house. Luky opened the door and entered.
The luxurious living room feels like a courtroom. Nana sat on the main sofa, her face turned red and still angry. His sister, Sisi, who was 22 years old, sat beside him, looked worried. His younger brother, Adi, who was 20 years old, stood near the window, folded his arms with an expression of disbelief.
"Finally you came," Nana welcomed in a cold tone.
"Mother, side, Adi," said Luky, trying to stay calm.
"Don't 'mother, side, adi' me! Start the story! Now!" snapped Nana.
Luky sat in the chair opposite them. "What you hear is true. I have married legally with four women. And they are all pregnant."
A suck of distrust could be heard from Adi. Sisi looked at his brother with his eyes widened. Nana looked like she wanted to throw a flower vase nearby to Luky.
"Four? Four wives? Luky, are you crazy? This is Indonesia, not the time of the Prophet! That's not legal! That's polygamy! And you are not present? You don't even know who they are?" Nana almost cried in frustration.
"It's legal, mother. All marriages are recorded correctly by the civil registry officer. They have legal documents. Regarding why mothers are not present ... it's due to very serious security reasons," Luky explained.
"Security? What is security from? You are not a secret or secret agent!" Sanggah Adi, angry.
Luky looked at his younger siblings and then returned to his mother. "Mother, our family is not like other families. My business ... is much bigger and more complex than what Mother has ever imagined. And with such sizes and strengths, enemies come. Very dangerous enemies."
"Enemies? What enemy? Are you talking like in a movie!" Cut Nana, but her angry tone began to be mixed with confusion.
"Not a film, mother. A few months ago, there was an attempt to kill me. That was real. It was done by a very strong international criminal organization that felt threatened by my business. They will use all means to hurt me, including hurting the people I love. That is why all this is done in secret. That is why the marriage was held in a secret place that was very protected. To protect my wives.
He paused, letting his words soak. Nana's face slowly changed from anger to anxiety. The side of holding his mother's hand tightly.
"Why ... why don't you tell us?" asked the side in a soft voice.
"Because knowing the truth will make you in danger. Ignorance is the best protection. If my enemies think you don't know anything about my true operation, they will not see you as a target or leverage," Luky answered.
"So ... your wives ... are they in danger?" Adi asked, his tone changed from confrontative to curiosity.
"They are a priority target. That is why they are hidden in a very safe place today. Under constant protection," Luky explained.
Nana took a deep breath, wiping the tears that finally dripped on her cheeks. "Luky ... Mother's child ... this is too big. Too dangerous. Mother doesn't want you to go into things like this."
"It's too late for that, Mother. I am already in it. The only way is to move forward and win it. And the part of winning it is to ensure that there is a strong successor to inherit and protect everything that has been built. That is the reason for marriage and pregnancy is important. This is not about lust. This is about survival and heritage."
He stood up and walked over to his mother, knelt in front of him. "Mother, I apologize for hurting my mother's feelings. I never intended to do it. Not included Mother is the most difficult decision I have ever made. But it was done to keep the mother safe. Believe me in this matter."
Nana looked at the face of her son, seeing the firmness and a little sadness in her eyes. As a mother, she finally understood that Luky's actions were painful, maybe indeed to protect them.
"Who ... who are your wives?" Nana asked finally, her voice was softer.
"Natasha Reid, an international financial expert. Dr. Aisyah Lestari, a famous heart surgeon. Chiara Andiani, an art and philanthropic curator. And Valerina Kusuma, a prosecutor at the Attorney General's Office," Luky answered, mentioning one by one.
The side is amazed. "Dr. Aisyah Lestari? I read about him in a magazine! He is very famous!"
"And Valerina Kusuma? I feel like he heard his name ... he handled a big corruption case some time ago, right?" Adi added, impressed.
Nana also looked surprised by the credentials of the four women. "They ... they are all very successful career women. Why do they accept ... Arrangement like this?"
"Because they understand a bigger vision. And they are strong women to be a part of him. They are not people who are weak or just make money, mothers. They are strategic partners."
Nana nodded slowly, starting to understand the big picture. "When ... When can you meet them? And ... Mother's grandchildren?"
"As soon as I am sure that the threat has decreased significantly. At present, even visiting them will bring risks to you. Believe me in this matter. When the time is safe, I will bring you all together."
Adi approached Luky. "Sis, what can we do to help? We are families. We have to protect each other."
Luky put his hand on his sister's shoulder. "Do what you have done. Live your normal life. Don't talk about my business to anyone. Don't try to investigate or contact my wives. Your ignorance is your best armor. That's the best way to help."
Side hugs her mother. "Mother, Sis Luky does the best for all of us. We must trust him."
Nana took a deep breath and finally nodded. "Alright, Luky. Mother believes in you. But you have a condition."
"What is that, Mother?"
"Once the babies were born, mothers want to take photos. And you want to meet them and their mothers as soon as possible after you say you are safe. Promise?"
"Promise, mother," Luky said, smiling with relief. "I will send their ultrasound photos tomorrow. Four grandchildren are growing healthy."
Nana finally smiled, tears of happiness now replacing tears of anger and sadness. "Four ... four at once. Our family will be big."
"Very big, mother. And very strong," Luky said.
Family crisis has been overcome. Luky spent the next few hours with them, answering questions that were not too sensitive and convincing them once again about their safety. He left the house with a feeling of relief that his family was now on his side, even if they did not know everything.
On the way back to Bunker, he received a call from Ariawan.
"Boss, we got confirmation. Victor Haas's hiding location was finally identified. He was in a very protected villa in the Swiss Alps."
Luky frowned. Victor Haas is one of the main board of directors of The Consortium.
"Plan the arrest operation. I want him to be taken alive. He has the information we need to paralyze them once and forever."
"Ready, boss."
War is still ongoing, but now Luky feels a little lighter. His family is safe and understanding, at least in part. And the dynasty continues to grow, protected in the bunker, waiting for the time to be born into the world.
Two weeks have passed since the Luky tense meeting with his family. The atmosphere at the Sanctuary Bunker went calmly, dominated by medical routines and monitoring of Luky's four wife's pregnancy. Luky himself spent most of his time at the command center, overseeing the preparation of Victor Haas's arrest operation.
That morning, Luky was sitting in his office in the bunker, studying the Vila Haas plan in Switzerland which was projected on his desk, when a satellite phone especially rang. That is the number of his mother.
"Luky," said Nana, her voice sounded much calmer than their last conversation.
"Mother, what's up?" Luky asked, resting the plan projection.
"Adi," Nana answered, and Luky immediately caught the worry tone in his voice. "He ... he began to wonder. Too much asking."
"Asking about what?" Luky sat more upright.
"About you. About your 'real' business. He ransacked the old archive at home, looking for old company documents. He said something about wanting to 'help' and 'not want to be left in ignorance'.
Luky sighed. This is what he is worried about. Adi's curiosity, which is combined with a young spirit and a desire to prove himself, can be a dangerous liability.
"Where is Adi now?" Luky asked.
"He went to campus. But Mother was worried, Luky. He might do something stupid."
"Don't let him leave home after returning home. Tell him I will call him tonight. I will talk to him."
"Fine, Luky. Please, don't be angry with him. He just wants to get involved."
"I will not be angry, Mother. I will explain. Now, you must be calm. Everything will be fine."
Luky ended the call and immediately pressed the Interkom button connected to the command center.
"Ariawan," he called.
"Boss?" Ariawan answered directly.
"Mobilize the light supervision team to oversee my younger brother, Adi Pratama. He is a student at the University of Indonesia, Depok. I want a report on his movement every hour. He must not know that he is being monitored. The absolute confidentiality protocol."
"Understanding, Boss. The team will be mobilized in ten minutes. Is there a certain level of threat?"
"The threat to himself. He wants to know too much. Watch him, and make sure he doesn't try to investigate things he shouldn't investigate."
"Ready, boss."
That night, at exactly 19:00, Luky called his family's house. Nana raised.
"He is in his room," Nana said. "I'll call him."
Luky heard a roar from the phone before Adi finally picked up his cellphone in his room.
"Sis Luky?" Greet Adi, his voice sounded a little defensive.
"Adi. Mother said you had many questions," Luky starts, directly on the point.
"Yes. I just feel ... isolated. You have a secret war, four secret wives, and we can't even know anything? We are your family, Sis. Not a burden." Adi's voice is full of restrained frustration.
"Knowing that will only make you a burden, Adi," Luky answered firmly. "And the target. What will you do with that information? Want to go to war? Want to bring a gun and be a hero?"
"Maybe! Better than sitting here and don't know anything while my sister faces danger!" Denies Adi.
"The danger I face is not a type of danger that you can face with courage, Adi. This is not a fight in the bar. My enemies are organizations that will torture you without mercy just to get information about me, or just to hurt me. They will not think twice about hurting mothers or sides if they think you know something."
He paused, hearing Adi's heavy breath across the phone.
"So, what should I do? Pretending to live a normal life while you did advice?" Adi asked, his voice was a little smaller.
"Yes. That's exactly what you have to do. That is your role in all this. That is your way to help. With a normal life, you protect yourself and our family."
"But ... I feel useless, sis," Adi complained, and now Luky heard surrender in his voice.
"You are useless, Adi. You are my younger brother. One day, when all this is over, there will be a place for you. But now is not the time. Believe me. When the time comes, I will ask you. But for now, please, live your life. Focus on your studies. Take care of your mother and side. That is a big enough task."
There was a long silence across the phone.
"Okay," Adi finally said. "Okay, Sis Luky. I understand. I'll stop looking."
"Good," said Luky, relieved. "And Adi, remember, this is for your safety."
"I know. Sorry for being troublesome."
"No need to apologize. Now, leave the phone to Mother."
Luky heard a roar again before Nana spoke again.
"It's finished?" Nana asked.
"Already. He will be fine now. But keep watching him, Mother. Report to me if there is something unusual."
"Fine, Luky. Thank you for handling it. And ... thank you for the photo." Nana refers to the photos of ultrasound sent by Luky to them. "They are beautiful."
Luky smiled. "Yes, Mother. They will be like that."
After ending the call with his family, Luky immediately contacted Ariawan again.
"Status of the Supervision Team?" he asked.
"The team was on the spot, Boss. Target, Adi Pratama, had returned to his residence after campus. There was no suspicious activity. He seemed to spend the night inside the house."
"Maintain supervision for the next 72 hours. If there is no suspicious activity, pull the team."
"Ready, boss."
Luky then went to the Bunker medical room. He found his four wives gathered. Natasha and Aisyah were sitting, while Chiara lay on the sofa with a pillow on her stomach that had begun to enlarge. Valerina stands near the medical console, views the data.
"Everything is fine?" Luky asked, entering the room.
"As usual," answered Dr. Aisyah. "The weekly examination is complete. All fetuses develop optimally. The health parameters of all mothers are also within normal limits."
"My baby boy kicks today!" Chiara exclaimed excitedly. "Like playing soccer in there!"
Natasha rubbed her stomach gently. "Mine is calmer. Like his father, maybe. Seriously and full of calculations."
Valerina just snorted a little, but Luky saw the way he occasionally put his hand in his stomach, a subtle signal that was unusual for him.
"I am happy to hear it," Luky said. He looked at them all. "I just talked to my family. My mother sent a greeting to all of you. She can't wait to meet you and her grandchildren."
"When can that happen, Luky?" Natasha asked.
"The threat of The Consortium was neutralized. We were very close. We have identified the location of one of their highest leaders. Arrests can occur at any time."
"And after that? Are we going to live forever in this bunker?" Valerina asked in a practical tone.
"No. After the main threat is lost, we will move to an estate that is being built. Safer from this place, and more comfortable. A place that is worthy of raising children."
"Like what?" Chiara asked, his eyes sparkled.
"A small private island that I have secured. Is in the final development stage. Equipped with a sophisticated defense system, medical facilities, schools, and everything we need. That will be our home."
"Sounds like a fort," murmured Valerina.
"That is indeed a fort, Valerina. But it will also be a home. A safe place for our families to grow."
Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of fine alarm from Luky's compulance. It was a priority call from the command center.
"I have to answer this," Luky said before stepping out of the corridor.
"Ariawan, report," Luky answered.
"Boss, the operating team in Switzerland is in a position. They are waiting for orders to start Assault on the Haas villa. Bright weather, good visibility. All parameters of green operations."
"Is Haas confirmed inside?"
"Positive confirmation, Boss. He was seen on the terrace over an hour ago."
"Good. Give orders to start the operation. I want him to live, Ari. Don't fail."
"The operation starts now, Boss. The team will give a report every five minutes."
Luky decided to communicate and walk to the elevator that would take him to the command center. An important event is happening, and he wants to watch it directly. The war against The Consortium might soon reach a decisive turning point.
