Suddenly, Senju Tobirama's vision blurred. From the scattered iron dust of shuriken that should have already been ground to nothing by his Water Release, new shuriken suddenly emerged.
The hollow center of the weapon was threaded with fine strings, spinning in a wide arc as it flew toward his flank.
A shuriken hidden within another shuriken!
This was the Uchiha clan's secret technique—the Shadow Shuriken Jutsu!
But Tobirama wasn't the type to yield to tricks. His figure vanished into thin air.
Not the Body Flicker Technique—this was the Flying Thunder God.
The battlefield was already littered with his specially marked kunai. Even the predictive power of the Sharingan couldn't determine where Tobirama might reappear. In fact, the Flying Thunder God was almost certainly designed specifically to counter the predictive abilities of the Sharingan.
Yet, within Izuna's spinning left Mangekyō Sharingan, the vision of the future unfolded like a projected film—
Tobirama materialized at the nine o'clock direction, clinging to a broken tree where one of his marked kunai had landed, and immediately launched a high-speed Water Release: Severing Wave toward Izuna.
The image snapped back. Izuna turned his head sharply toward the nine o'clock direction.
Sure enough—about two hundred meters away, one of Tobirama's kunai gleamed in the shattered trunk of a tree.
Without waiting for Tobirama to act, Izuna made his move.
He sprinted forward, chakra swirling rapidly in his right hand until it condensed into two spheres the size of fists, glowing a vivid blue. Around them, four cutting blades of wind formed, crackling with sharp whistling sounds like shredding steel.
Wind Release: Rasengan!
Without Sage Chakra, he couldn't throw it yet—but even so, this was an advanced, A-rank Wind Release technique!
As Izuna charged, Tobirama flickered onto the broken tree, already forming a single-handed seal to unleash Water Release: Severing Wave. But before he could complete it, Izuna's Wind Release: Rasengan was already descending upon his face!
"What?!"
Caught off guard, Tobirama twisted his head at the last instant, relying on pure combat instinct. Even so, the Rasengan scraped across his cheek and shoulder.
Splatter!
Blood sprayed from his face and shoulder, though most of the technique's devastating power had missed.
Grimacing, Tobirama immediately warped away with the Flying Thunder God once more, reappearing five hundred meters behind Izuna, where another marked kunai had landed.
BOOM!
The spot Izuna struck exploded into fragments, pulverized by the Rasengan. When the smoke cleared seconds later, Izuna emerged, frowning.
"The Flying Thunder God… what a troublesome jutsu."
Tobirama, however, was even more unsettled.
Why?
The Sharingan shouldn't be able to predict the Flying Thunder God!
Could it be that new Mangekyō Sharingan…?
Izuna suddenly felt a sharp sting in his left eye. Instinctively, he pressed a hand against it.
Damn it! Already protesting, after just a short while?
A double-edged gift.
The ability of his left eye—future sight.
It was frighteningly similar to the advanced Observation Haki of Katakuri in One Piece—a brief glimpse into the moments yet to come.
And against instant techniques like the Flying Thunder God, it was a perfect counter.
But Izuna hadn't expected his eye to ache this quickly.
"I don't intend to drag this into a battle of attrition with you."
Clapping his hands together, he clasped his palms tightly, thrusting forward toward Tobirama.
"Let's end this quickly."
Lightning Release: Earth Walk!
From Izuna's clenched fists, sparks leapt, racing across the ground in a streak of crackling thunder, roaring toward Tobirama.
Tobirama froze for a fraction of a second.
The Uchiha were masters of Fire Release. Izuna should lean toward Wind Release, not Lightning Release. Lightning Release was more of Madara's specialty.
"…But if this is the best your Lightning Release can do, it's hardly worth mentioning."
His voice cold, Tobirama revealed six Flying Thunder God kunai, flinging them in a perfect arc to cover every angle around him.
In the blink of an eye, his body disappeared again, evading Izuna's lightning effortlessly.
Thwip! Thwip! Thwip! Thwip! Thwip! Thwip!
When he reappeared, six Tobiramas stood suspended in the air, each gripping one of the marked kunai.
In the moment he vanished, he had even used the Shadow Clone Technique!
"Water Release: Severing Blade!"
Streams of water, honed sharp as swords, coiled around each kunai. At that instant, the six Tobiramas became streaks of blue lightning, moving with a speed that even the Mangekyō could barely trace—though no human body could possibly keep up.
In the blink of an eye, six Tobiramas encircled Izuna, each thrusting their water-imbued kunai toward his throat, heart, waist, and legs.
Clang!!
The screech of metal rang out, startling every Tobirama in unison.
Staring in disbelief, they saw it—
The tips of their specially made Flying Thunder God kunai had snapped.
"You're nothing like the pathetic imitators Sasuke once faced," Izuna's cold voice growled. "You've forced me to use this."
Tobirama narrowed his eyes.
Around Izuna's body, a ribcage of white skeletal bones had formed, enclosing him completely.
In the next heartbeat, a massive skeletal arm burst forth from the ribcage, its palm wreathed in raging black flames.
"Susanoo: Amaterasu!"
The skeletal arm swung, hurling the searing black inferno in a sweeping strike toward Tobirama.
Left eye—future sight.
Right eye—Amaterasu.
When both were unleashed together, they awakened the true secret art of the Mangekyō Sharingan—
Susanoo.
This was Uchiha Izuna's Mangekyō Sharingan.
