The next morning, the principal called an assembly to announce that the Alpha king is going
to visit our pack in two days so everyone had to be on their very best behaviour. I walked to
class trying to figure out what best behavior meant, but I guess I wouldn't need that since I'm
the alpha's daughter
I met Bianca in the hallway on my way to class. She is the definition of Barbie. Blond, long
endless legs, exquisite makeup, two minions behind her, Dean's girlfriend and captain of the
cheer team. I used to think she had it all but I was sorely disappointed, apparently being
beautiful doesn't automatically account for brains.
"little b***tch,
" she said " I saw you around Dean yesterday, what were you talking about"
"No..Nothing" I mumbled out
"I'd better not see you around my boyfriend ever again, get it?" she said venomously before
digging her long nails into my arms.
"Good for nothing little runt, don't you dare try or even think of seducing my Dean or you'll
regret it, hmph"
"ye…Yes" I stammered out
Then she sashayed out of the closet with her minion behind her.
I left the closet as soon as the coast was clear. As I got back to class, the teacher, Mrs
Anderson, was already in class
I tried to make myself as invisible as possible to enter the class without her noticing,
"Miss Snow" she called "if you want to at least graduate, you should make an effort to attend
classes early"
"I'm sorry Mrs Anderson it won't happen again " I apologized as I slid into my seat at the very
end of the room, listening to the lectures.
After class, I reviewed what I know about the Alpha king in my head.
The alpha king is the ruler of all wolves in the werewolf kingdom and he is also rumored to
be a business mogul, highly respected in the human world. According to my knowledge, he
has not met his fated mate yet. I feel sorry for him because he must be an old man already.
As the lakemoon alpha's daughter, I had to receive and welcome him with my dad so I left
school early and went to my dad's office. I got to the office and didn't meet him there but I
saw some files on his table. One of them caught my interest, I opened it and saw a
transaction dated three months ago with the neighbouring pack, and the object of the
transaction was me. It read that soon as I turn 16, I am the property of Westlake Alpha and
his chosen mate. I felt the ground spinning and was about to fall till I heard my dad's
footsteps, I shoved the documents back and arranged the office the way I saw it. My heart
was pounding and I don't know how I'm gonna face dad with this knowledge weighing on
me. So I ran out of the office and met Dad in the hallwayDAD'S POV
I am so nervous about receiving the Alpha king, it's been a great week so far. My daughter,
Lindsey, is doing well in school and I hope she's happy. She will soon turn 16 and I can't wait
to celebrate her coming of age ceremony. I still have to find out who forged my signature on
those documents that I received from my Beta.
(bumps into Lindsey)
"Kiddo, what are you doing here" I asked excitedly
"I came to have lunch with you Daddy,
" she said.
"ok honey, let's go have lunch"
At the cafe I noticed, she was absent-minded and asked her "What's wrong honey ? you
seem lost"
But she said "Nothing Daddy, I'm just thinking about my upcoming birthday, I'm nervous
about what the day will bring.

"Don't be nervous, it will be wonderful, I promise,
" I said
"But what if I don't get my wolf" she asked worriedly
"You will, the moon goddess will pair you with your wolf on your 16th birthday,
" I said " it's a
tradition for shifters to be paired with their wolf on their 16th birthday, it won't be any different
for you"
"Will shifting hurt?" she asked
I tried to be as honest as possible but I don't want to scare her
"Yeah honey, but just for a little while, and then you will feel how exhilarating it is to meet
your Wolf who is your second half"
She fell silent and I could see that she was thinking about what I said
We eat in silence until my Beta, Derrick interrupted"Alpha" he said "there's something that
needs your attention at your office"
I nodded and stood up "Kiddo I'll see you at home when I'm done,
" I told Lindsey
"OK Daddy,
" she said
After lunch, as I walked back to my office with Derrick, I was still worried about Lindsey, she
is a very pitiful child. She thinks I don't see how depressed she has been these days and I
know that some pack members are bullying her but my hands are tied if she doesn't open upto me, I don't want to be the parent who forces his child to speak, I want her to do it on her own terms.
On my way to the office, three things were on my mind: one, why is the alpha king deciding
to visit us all of a sudden?
Two, two is who forged that signature on that document, and the
Third, what is going on in Lindsey's mind? She seemed panicked and scared when we were having lunch, I just hope she can open up to me one day and be truly happy. As I looked back at Lindsey walking off into the sunset, I felt like I was about to lose something precious to me and I prayed to the moon goddess that this feeling was wrong.
