Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Spare Me

Using his ability to control clones, Rogel easily found an opportunity to manipulate one of the pirate henchmen, causing infighting and taking advantage of the chaos to seize control of the pirate leader.

Moreover, he wasn't alone.

Beside him, Lina held a firearm, aiming at the pirate deputy's head.

Upon hearing the commotion in the town, he immediately headed to Lina's clinic, as his deputy captain's safety was a priority.

When the pirates arrived, Lina had already sensed the danger and found a place to hide.

However, the gardener elf treated yesterday panicked, making noise as he fled and was heard by the pirates.

But Rogel arrived quickly.

He was initially very cautious.

But soon he confirmed that the pirates before him were merely wicked ordinary pirates.

So he stopped hiding and acted decisively.

[Rogel! Lina!]

[It's that young man who came here recently, I recognize him!]

The sight of Rogel's arrival excited Old Nelson and many islanders.

Confronted with the sudden intrusion by the pirates, the residents of Sea Serpent Island lacked the means to resist.

They expected the worst today.

Little did they know that the young man who arrived recently possessed such formidable strength, able to disrupt the entire pirate gang single-handedly and control their leader.

[Have your men hand over the guns to the islanders, I have questions for you.]

Rogel calmly said to the pirate leader.

The pirate leader, hearing this, clenched his teeth, trying to feign composure despite his inner terror.

[Sir, why don't you let me go first, perhaps we can talk...]

[If you care about these islanders...]

Thud!

Before the pirate leader could finish speaking, Rogel transformed into a gray mist, his steel sword brandishing as he swiftly beheaded a pirate in an instant.

[You killed a pirate and gained combat experience.]

The gray mist then reformed, once again gripping his throat.

The entire process took only two seconds.

Swift like a phantom!

Even as Rogel had already seized his throat again, the head of the henchman fell with a thud.

Suddenly, the surroundings fell silent.

The ruthless pirates at this moment realized that the man in the black robe before them was utterly beyond their ability to contend with.

The firearms in their hands posed no threat to him, not even offering a shred of safety.

Rogel switched to true perspective, lifting the pirate leader with his left hand and gazing into his eyes.

"Do you think I'm asking for your opinion?"

Witnessing this scene, the pirate leader felt a chill surge from his tailbone to his skull.

He knew these extraordinaries were incredibly powerful, but he couldn't fathom their overwhelming might.

Rogel's actions were undoubtedly a warning and a final ultimatum—he could kill them all at any moment.

This completely eradicated the pirate leader's small schemes, replaced by a strong will to survive.

"Put down your guns! Surrender!"

The pirate leader shouted loudly at his men.

The henchmen, hearing this, exchanged glances and one by one lowered their firearms.

It wasn't hesitance but sheer fright.

Upon hearing the pirate leader's orders, they snapped out of their daze, hurriedly putting down their guns, not daring to harbor any thought of resisting.

Once the pirates were disarmed, Rogel gestured towards Lina and Old Nelson.

Understanding, Old Nelson gathered the islanders to pick up the firearms, aiming them at the pirates.

The pirates trembled, kneeling on the ground.

Honestly, for the first time, they realized being held at gunpoint wasn't the most terrifying thing.

The man in the black robe before them was the real walking demon!

Soon, the pirate leader was tightly bound and placed before Rogel.

"What is your purpose for coming to Sea Serpent Island?"

Rogel asked the pirate leader.

Hearing his words, the pirate leader fell silent for a moment, mustered his courage.

"If I tell you, will you spare me?"

Rogel frowned and fired a shot.

With a bang, the pirate leader, eyes filled with disbelief, fell into a pool of blood.

[You killed the pirate leader and gained combat experience.]

Such a fool, trying to negotiate under these circumstances, couldn't see the situation clearly.

Moreover, this guy attempted a maneuver a second time, and Rogel was no longer inclined to give him another chance.

Rogel's curiosity about their origin and purpose was limited; it wasn't a necessity.

These pirates were wicked, and the pirate leader especially so; killing them was unburdening to Rogel.

Though he felt slightly uneasy.

Killing in true perspective was fundamentally different from playing games on a screen.

But Rogel didn't show it.

Lina frowned, glanced at her outfit, then looked at Rogel with some exasperation.

Upon seeing her gaze, Rogel was a bit surprised, then noticed the blood splatters on her white clothes.

"...Uh, sorry, sorry."

Rogel chuckled awkwardly.

The pirate deputy beside him was also splattered with blood, his eyes vacant for a moment.

Gulp!

The pirate deputy swallowed hard, pale with fear, his teeth trembling uncontrollably.

This man, what kind of devil is he?

Shooting the boss over a disagreement?

That's brutal!

Much worse than when they killed civilians.

"You, speak."

Rogel turned to the pirate deputy.

Startled by the sound, the deputy flinched.

With the pirate leader's example, he dared not entertain any schemes, nor utter a single useless word.

As for whether the lord would spare him afterward...

He dared not even consider the question.

For now, it was about living a second longer, forget anything else.

After listening to the pirate deputy, Rogel's face showed a knowing expression.

As it turned out, these pirates hailed from a group outside the Five Major Seas.

However, they were merely minor figures, a subsidiary pirate gang of a large pirate fleet, consisting of only a dozen people.

A month ago, their leader ordered them to enter Harmony Sea Area in pursuit of a group.

This group had visited Sea Serpent Island earlier, roguel had seen them.

It seemed they had acquired some sort of sea treasure, hence being hunted by the fleet.

The gardener elf Rogel and Lina rescued not long ago was likely from their ship.

It seemed the group that visited earlier wasn't simple...

Rogel pondered this.

"How do you plan to handle these pirates?"

Lina asked, looking at the trembling pirates after Rogel finished his interrogation.

Upon hearing this, Rogel glanced at the townsfolk mourning over the young man's body.

"Leave it to the others, whether execution by gunfire or hanging."

The combat experience provided by these pirates was minimal, and Rogel was disinclined to kill them one by one.

He had more pressing matters to attend to now.
