Caleb Lockwood looked up, his tone calm: "I took some time off, I'm not busy for now." His expression was indifferent, and his attitude seemed sincere.
Nathan Sutton, who hadn't spoken yet, walked over with a slight frown: "We're fine here, you can leave."

The meaning was clear—he should leave, as this had nothing to do with him.
Serena Sutton was indignant on Caleb's behalf, grasping his hand and angrily saying, "He's here to accompany me; it has nothing to do with you all. If you can't speak nicely, then don't speak."
