Mr. Sutton finished smoking before Serena Sutton and her group returned, then opened the window for ventilation, and even found Ms. Hayes's perfume to spray around the room.
Serena Sutton knew he would do this; Old Sutton is a bit of a coward, but he's quite meticulous. Since she didn't catch him red-handed, she'll just bluff him.
"What's that smell in our house? Why does it smell so strange?" Serena shouted loudly towards Mr. Sutton's doorway as soon as she stepped in.
Norbert Sutton and Nathan Sutton indicated that they didn't want to be involved; after all, he's their dad—his daughter can provoke him, his sons better not. Don't ask why, just know that the feather duster is ready to serve.
Upon hearing Serena's voice, Mr. Sutton immediately came out of the room, smiling broadly: "I accidentally sprayed a bit of Old Hale's perfume just now, not a weird smell, right? Quite fragrant actually."
