Chapter Two
fragile
Then she saw it, it looks pale, fragile and wounded. It looks helpless at the moment and needs to be tendered for to survive and continue its mission The Huge Black Wolf, The Alpha. As she got closer, Eloise couldn't help but noticed the helpless poor thing sprawled on the forest floor, its flank heaving with ragged breaths, its fur shimmered strangely under the moonlight and its eyes locked onto her.
She wanted to run away, her instinct screamed at her to run but her feet felt heavy to move, she felt compassion for it, something in those eyes caught her attention. Kneeling slowly she whispered, "hush now… I won't hurt you, I promise."
Blood glistered on its fur. A deep tore on its left shoulder. Eloise quickly shrugged off her jacket and tenderly pressed it against the wound. The wolf flinched, lips curled back in warning, but didn't attack it watched her instead, the gaze so intense like it was trying to read into her soul, her heartbeat thundered but she couldn't look away. She observed passionately, then before her eyes the wolf's body shimmered, and just like that, it bolted into the trees, still in pains but soundlessly.
Eloise frizzed, "what the hell was that?" she asked. Deep down she already knew, it was not just a wolf. Then she walked back in still thinking about it only to find her grandma was out at the side of door, "grandma Tate you're awake, why are you up?" she asked scared that would have woken her grandma up from her sleep. "Child go to bed, I am fine". That was Grandma Tate brief reply.
As she lay on her bed she pounder over and over again about the ordeal she just experienced. A normal wolf didn't have eyes like that, a normal wolf doesn't look at human with familiarity, and a normal wolf would have attacked her straight away right there. She sniff something was off from the wolf ordeal to her grandma's strange attitude, they didn't sit well with her. She will find out soon.
The smell of Silverpine and damped earth thickened deeper, and the night got darker. She couldn't find sleep, just few hours already and its feels so weird all around, her grandma isn't helping her out from her curiosity. Eloise wish it would be easy since her grandma has stayed for as long as she could remember. She just believed a lot more of mysteries will keep unfolding as times goes on. She had a flashback of the connection she felt when she saw those eyes, the sparks in the eyes and the tenderness behind the tough figure. If only she could feel it real not mysteriously. Though she didn't understand the connection but she knows that is beyond her natural understanding. Knowing she would have a long day tomorrow.
