Chapter 1 - MOONBOUND FANTASIES

Chapter One

Silverpine

A small secluded area, very close to the woods with few neighborhood. Very serene and mysterious area full of mysterious activities. The road was swallowed by fogs, the town didn't exist on most maps. Every twist of the narrow road felt like going into another world.

Silverpine isn't just an isolated town hidden deep in the woods, it borderland between worlds. Worlds of both natural and supernatural powers. On the surface, it's quiet, forgotten and shrouded with endless fog. It has deep ancient stories that should be long forgotten. The trees around the town aren't normal, locals believed their silvery bark and faint luminescence under the full moon are tied to the Moon Goddess's tears.

Eloise and her Grandma just arrives the town and she notice the neighborhood are strangely secretive, she decided to ask about the environment from her grandma for the umpteenth time who keeps giving her unsatisfactory replies and keeping her in the dark, which she found very mysterious. As they unpack their boxes her stomach tightened and she felt the hush of a still wind swept through her nostrils. The neighborhood was too quiet, no birdsong, just a little wind and a strange heavy silence.

Something moved among the trees, Eloise stopped what she was doing, froze, scanning through the dark underground. But there was nothing just shadows and her grandma's presence in the room. Deep down she felt something about the place was off but decided to shake off the feelings since she is not alone.

That night, from her window, Eloise, heard howls and rattling of leaves splitting from the darkness, these were closer, layered and hauntingly human and wolves sound. She decided to step outside and walk through the leaves, she notice claw marks and footsteps of human etched into the wooden porch railing. As she turned to head back inside, she noticed a glowing pair of glowing eyes watching her from the tree line. Fear gripped her as she take few steps towards the tree line, she thought it could just be one of the neighbors' pet or what it could be she had thought again. Her grandma was fast asleep so she thought and she didn't want to disrupt the poor woman's sleep because they had a long day.

The night was colder, damped with pine and earth as she walked closer, her flashlight cut thin beams through the tree lines scanning through as she heard a faint whimpering sound, Then she saw it.

Deep in the woods, there was echoes of howling from lost and wounded wolves running and seeking their pack mate. There was an attack from an unknown. It was chaos everywhere, fire burning in every angles in the woods.
