Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Group

I stared at the screen of my laptop, scrolling through the information I had just uncovered about my predecessor, Seo Soo-Ah. Apparently, she—or rather, I—was the eldest member of Siren + Angel, a name that made me cringe the longer I looked at it. SiAn (Cyan), as the fans called it, was supposed to represent both allure and innocence, a contrast I found amusing but didn't dwell on.

Their fandom, known as Sirephim (a fusion of "Siren" and "Seraphim"), represents their duality—both fierce and heavenly.

What did interest me, however, was my profile. I was the main visual and the center of the group, my representative animal was a dog and my color was pink. That last part made me pause.

Pink, huh? I actually liked pink. Even when I was a guy in my past life, I had no issues admitting that. It was a nice color.

Continuing on, I saw that the other members had all described original Soo-Ah as the kindest in the group. The og Soo-Ah also apparently knew how to cook, bake, knit, play instruments, and even produce music. That was even more unexpected. I frowned.

"Why does she sound like me?" I muttered, leaning closer to the screen. "This is kind of eerie."

I scrolled down to the second profile and was met with the sharp, elegant features of Choi Hyerin. The girl had striking fox-like eyes, a tall nose bridge, and an undeniable aura of confidence. As soon as I read her name, something clicked.

"Wait a minute. Choi Hyerin?" I whispered. I had read that name before, hadn't I?

Ignoring the weird sense of déjà vu, I continued reading. Her representative animal was a fox, her color was blue, and she was the leader and main dancer of the group. Described as the most extroverted and having the weirdest habits, she was also the unofficial photographer, always snapping pictures of her members.

I found that oddly cute before moving on.

The third member, Ha Jiwoo, was also beautiful, with a koala as her representative animal and orange as her color. She was the main rapper and, according to the description, the ice queen of the group. She liked coffee, sleeping, anime, and staying up late.

I smirked. "A relatable queen."

Finally, there was Park Hayeon. With a bunny as her animal and purple as her color, she was the youngest and the main singer. She was known as the "happy pill" of the group, naturally funny, an animal lover with four dogs, and Jiwoo's late-night partner-in-crime.

As I finished reading, a strange realization settled in my chest. The group was set to disband in five months. SiAn wasn't just any girl group—it was an extremely popular one. And this situation…

I narrowed my eyes.

This felt familiar.

I quickly searched my memory and let out a sharp breath. "Rising Again." It was a novel I had read before, and was also my favorite. It was about Choi Hyerin, about how she regretted not fighting for her dreams after her group's disbandment. In her second life, she was determined not to make the same mistake, and joined a survival show to continue her dream.

I blinked.

So, I was one of the side characters?

My lips curled into an amused smirk. "Well, isn't this interesting?"

From what I recalled, after the disbandment, Ha Jiwoo and Park Hayeon ended up living together, with Ha Jiwoo becoming a professional gamer and Park Hayeon a vlogger documenting their chaotic lives. But Seo Soo-Ah…

I frowned.

The novel said that she had vanished, like a ghost. She was barely mentioned, only appearing in Choi Hyerin's regretful flashbacks. Apparently, og Seo Soo-Ah and Hyerin had a big fight that caused them to break apart. Choi Hyerin had tried looking for her, but the novel never revealed whether she found her or not.

I leaned back in my chair, exhaling through my nose.

"So, the original Seo Soo-Ah was timid, introverted, and polite," I muttered, tapping my fingers on the desk. "Well, that's convenient. I was also like that in my past life, so pretending to be her won't be too hard."

Before I could dive further into my thoughts, my stomach grumbled. I sighed and stood up, deciding to grab something to eat. Just as I reached for my phone, it rang.

The name on the screen made me freeze.

Choi Hyerin.

I stared at the glowing name for a second before clicking my tongue. "Well, speak of the devil."

Taking a deep breath, I pressed the answer button. "Hello?"
