The packhouse was chaos.
Selene pressed herself against the corridor wall as three wolves rushed past, arms laden with linens and decorative banners bearing the Bloodfang crest. No one acknowledged her... they never did, but she'd learned to make herself small, invisible, a shadow that didn't warrant attention.
"Move faster!" Beta Kira's voice cracked through the air like a whip. "Alpha Lucian arrives at sunset and this place looks like a pigsty!"
It didn't. Selene had spent three days ensuring every surface gleamed, every corner was immaculate. But Kira's standards existed in some impossible realm where perfection was never quite enough, especially when it came from the Cursed Luna.
Selene waited until the corridor cleared, then continued toward the kitchens, her arms aching from the bucket of cleaning supplies she carried. She had to check on the feast preparations, then finish arranging the guest wing, then...
"You."
