Legend: Cash Levels
Episode 3 – Money Ain't Enough
⸻
Opening Scene – The Test Begins
The Brooklyn night was heavy, humid, and tense. Legend stood outside the dark warehouse, a blunt hanging from his lips, Miles pacing beside him.
The Escalade door opened. Out stepped three figures draped in chains that glowed faintly under the streetlight. Their swagger was violent, their smiles dangerous. These weren't college boys. They were killers dressed like rappers.
The tallest one spoke first. "So you're the bum who leveled up overnight. The strip club baller. The sneaker thief."
Legend exhaled smoke slowly. "That's me. Legend. Who asking?"
The man smirked. "We're the Cash Syndicate. Money Crew of Brooklyn. And before you even think about eating with us, you gotta prove you can keep what's yours."
Legend frowned. "What you mean?"
The man snapped his fingers. Another figure stepped forward—a big dude, six-four, muscles built like prison steel. He cracked his knuckles.
"Money ain't enough, bum," the boss said. "Out here, people will rob you, scam you, kill you. If you can't fight, you'll lose it all. Let's see if you got hands."
Legend dropped his blunt. Smiled. "Say less."

Scene 1 – First Fistfight
The big dude rushed him, swinging heavy. Legend ducked, instincts kicking in. He wasn't a fighter, but NYC life had taught him enough to survive.
He took a hit to the ribs, coughed, but stayed standing. His HUD flickered.

Legend's grin widened. "Ohhh, so it's that type of game."
He dodged, countered with a hook, surprising the big guy. Crowd murmured. Legend's punches weren't pro-level, but his energy was wild, chaotic, unpredictable.
The fight turned ugly fast—grappling, headlocks, knees. At one point, Legend bit the dude's shoulder just to get free.
Finally, he caught the big man with a wild uppercut. The guy stumbled, then collapsed, groaning.
The Cash Syndicate boss clapped. "You got heart. And you got hands. Money without strength is nothing. But money with strength? That's empire."
Legend spit blood, grinned, and lit another blunt. "Guess I'm empire material then."

Scene 2 – Miles's Mom Makes Her Move
The next morning, Legend was on the couch counting his balance when Miles's mom walked in. She had bills in one hand, coffee in the other, stress lines creasing her forehead.
"Legend," she said softly, for once not roasting him. "Can we talk?"
Legend looked up. "What's up, Ma?"
She sighed. "I got… debt. Old credit cards, some medical bills. Around $5,000 left. It's been eating me alive. I hate asking, but… could you help?"
Legend didn't hesitate. He pulled out a fat envelope. "Say less. Here. Six racks. Clear it all and treat yourself."
Her eyes watered. She was only 33, still young, but life had worn her down. She'd been holding the family together, sacrificing everything.
"Legend…" she whispered, holding the money. "You don't know what this means."
Legend smiled. "I do. You been holding it down while I been broke. Time for me to hold you down."
She hugged him tight, her perfume sweet and youthful. For a moment, she wasn't Miles's mom—she was just a young woman getting a second chance.
Later that week, she showed up with her hair done, nails fresh, and new clothes. Her glow returned. The neighborhood dudes stared. Miles was annoyed.
Legend laughed. "Told you, Ma. You still young. Live."

On the block, a group of haters pressed him. "Yo, you the money boy? Hand it over before we strip you."
Legend grinned, fists up. "Try me."
The brawl was quick, dirty, bloody. Legend fought like an animal, every punch fueled by pride and power. He left them groaning on the sidewalk.
His HUD lit up.

He slid Miles another $500. Miles smiled, but inside, jealousy deepened.

Legend lit a blunt, eyes glowing with ambition. "Then let 'em aim. I'm built for this."
