Chapter 6 - 006

Kiezy, who was currently returning to her place, gave attention.

"Hmm...?"

She uttered as she took a look.

"...!"

The moment she does, her eyes could just get shadowed with dread.

"Wh... Zetra, what are you saying?" (chuckles)

"..."

Zetra gasps.

"Uh! N...! Nothing... "

"Good grief, Zetra. What are you even thinking? Your playing seems to be getting out of hand, I see." - Attacked Hara from behind of her currently on read book.

"...!"

"Zetra... "

Zetra was just about to retaliate but Kiezy shut her down.

"Uhm... Yes... "

Well yeah. Zetra is just too childish. I think. It appears she wanted to be seen in such a cool form.

"Well... Whatever."

I muttered as I continued reading.

I closed one book...

"Not here... "

And another book...

"Not here... "

And so on...

"Not here...!"

I cracked out almost everything but it seemed there was no luck.

There was no information about Mihgilrahann!

Kiezy might have seen through my trouble which is why she asked.

"Uhm, are you looking for something?"

"Y-Yeah... "

I replied with my eyes and hand still busy reading and flipping pages.

"..."

Kiezy could just wonder.

I was flipping pages at an unnatural pace and sometimes flipping them back and forth. Obviously, it wasn't an act of reading. It was clear to Kiezy that I had a specific thing in mind that I was searching for.

"Uhm... Can I be of help?"

"..."

It took me finishing three books before answering.

"Uhm... "

And currently, I was still flipping pages.

"I can't find a certain history."

"History? To what year are we talking about?"

"Uhm... Maybe 3... No, 10 years or 20 years... 30 years at most... "

I didn't even look at Kiezy as I talked.

"Ah... Ahaha... You're really in a hurry, huh? So, 10 to 30 years to the past... Hmm... "

Kiezy also began scanning the books.

"What are the specifics of that you're looking for? Records on politics, wars, economy, dungeon management, government-civil relations... Or any other specific fields?"

"Uh... "

'Should I say Mihgilrahann?'

It was still in my mind when...

"Mihgilrahann! It's all about the family name Mihgilrahann!"

I blurted it out without thinking.

Seriously... I was getting tired of this. If someone knows just tell me already! I was even beginning to think that if I just shout this out on the streets, everything will be easier and faster.

But I must not act rashly. Someone might be awaiting my return or expecting that someone from the Mihgilrahann heirs will arise and retake the kingdom to continue its legacy.

"It's none... "

"...!?"

My eyes could just widen.

"This can't be... At least one? At least a hint? At least bad records?"

That was what I muttered as I thought that ever finding a trace of our existence was already impossible.

Why wouldn't there be a record about it? Was that sin too great to erase my existence this much? That I can't find the land where I used to be?

I know this was Ilgrair, but it feels nowhere near the one I know anymore.

I felt like I was distant.

Now I see how it feels to die without leaving anything behind. To perish without proof that the person ever existed... It was probably this now.

What, in this case... It will look like I just got reincarnated in another world. This feeling... I am totally a stranger aren't I?

"Stranger in this world... "

I muttered with a hint of tears that seemed to glimmer in my eyes.

"...!"

Kiezy noticed, which causes her to get frantic.

"Uhm... What you're searching for is really that important to you, huh? Don't worry we will find it! So, uhm... Anymore other than that name only?"

Taking a kingdom that doesn't belong to me is creepy and disgusting. I don't know why. But if my existence was this greatly hidden, then I guess I am not its king anymore.

My proof of existence was gone.

What is the reason for continuing a legacy that won't raise?

"Uhm, other than the name, was it?"

Part of me already accepted that I've lost. But seeing Kiezy being too zealous over something she absolutely has nothing to do with just to help, I couldn't just say I surrender, right? It was important enough that I almost went into tears... Kiezy will probably feel disappointed if I stop now.

"It was still ageing to the past where this kingdom was still being ruled by a mighty king. The family that united the whole land as one. The mighty Mihgilrahann."

I can't think of something to say so I just started spouting nonsense. Praising my mighty family out of nowhere. It's not like every Mihgilrahann was powerful. It's just that from that one king who was considerable as my great-grandfather, has successors so strong that they didn't get dethroned until me.

Well, my enemy was the whole continent. There's nothing we can do about it.

...

The place was quiet.

Even though I wasn't interested anymore, I was at least expecting a reply from Kiezy.

From the sleep-inducing scenery outside through the window, I turned my sight to her.

...

She was like... Surprised?

"Is something wrong?"

I asked confused about her reaction.

"To the date where this kingdom was still ruled by a king... You said?"

"...?"

With a questioning look, I thought to myself.

'What of it?'

"Mr. Yui... Do you know what era or year it is you're looking for?"

"Year? Era?"

Come to think of it, I would have found it faster if those were the categories that I used for searching. The problem was that I didn't remember what era it was. My death probably causes to lose unnecessary memories.

"I don't quite remember but it was an age where dungeons were still just a hunting ground. A place to extract resources."

Well, I can see that the dungeons still seem operative right now. But seeing that monster the other day... I can tell that the inside of the dungeon is no longer a safe place to gather crystals anymore.

"..."

Once again, Kiezy was looking at me in curiosity and a little bit of uneasiness.

"What... Are you...?"

"Huh? Uhm... Kiezy?"

"The age when this kingdom was still ruled by a king... It was 1000 years ago."

"...!?"

POOORGSSHH...

Due to surprise, my aura could just slip away from my clutches.

A sudden surge of aura burst forth from me, sending a heart-pounding energy throughout the castle.

Without doubt, although in an instant, I know everyone has felt it.

["What was that...? Again? ... How ominous... Where did that come from!?... "]

Everyone in the library and at the castle began to make a commotion.

Well, I doubt they would know where that came from. It's just in an instant after all.

The problem is... Kiezy was looking at me with total curiosity.

It seemed that she was so disturbed by the fact that I was searching for something from a thousand years ago that she didn't even feel the aura outbreak that had just occurred.

"Mr. Yui... What kind of history are you looking for from a past that distant? And no... How did you even think that this kingdom has such a kind of history?"

"...!"

What is this? What kind of joke is this!?

'Are you telling me that this day is 1000 years later than my death!?'

No... I must confirm.

"How did you discover it was 1000 years ago?"

I asked to clarify whether it was true or not. If it was really 1000 years ago... Then what the heck is the meaning of my reincarnation!? Now, indeed... This will just look like I got reincarnated in another world!

But while on that thought, if it's true that the last time this kingdom was ruled by a King, I think my reign would not be so far from that. At least... Just one time... I want to see the record of my existence.

So that I can carry on the existence of my whole family and the emotions of everyone who knows that name.

"Also, did you... "

I was a bit hesitant. If I say these words, this might immediately create a network of thoughts leading to the exposure of who I really am. But whatever. I think I should just trust these people.

"Did you find out anything about Mihgilrahann? A period of time of the rulership of the royal family... Migilrahann?"

...

"Heh... "

"Uh?"

Kiezy let out a sudden amused sound in which I wondered what for.

"Oh, so you were just looking for the legacy of your bloodline. Hehe."

"Huh?"

Kiezy was freely smiling like she was in a very beautiful spirit.

I can even feel and see her cheerfulness getting into me.

"Ah... Ahaha... What's the matter?"

Is just what I said as I was also being somewhat cheerful. Despite my deep sadness.

"Don't worry Mr. Yui. Even if no one believes that your ancestors once ruled this place, I with all my reasons, will believe in you."

Ah... She was beaming... An expression and a smile I really need right now.

"T-Thank you... "

My eyes then began searching for the book where she found the information. I have to read it.

"The thing is... Mr. Yui... There were no records of this kingdom ever being ruled by a single king. Within this 1000-year length of historical record books. That's why I concluded that the history you were looking for was still far beyond that."

"...!"

I could just close my eyes.

"I see... "

With that as if accepting the fateful truth, I began muttering without knowing.

"How about that first general who betrayed us? Didn't he take the throne for himself? Or the others fight over it?"

Kiezy heard it which is why she immediately responded.

"If you're talking about revolution... And a general... This might be him you're talking about."

"...!"

The moment I heard, a glint of hope could just light inside me.

Seeing the person being pointed at in the picture...

"The honoured first general and also the excellent advisor. Later on, named or known as... Wiseman."

I could just grab the book off the table and raise it to the sky as I said in a very enthusiastic voice...

"It really is this BASTARD!!!"

It feels contradictory, feeling so happy seeing the bastard advisor who acted on his own just to carry on his own ideal. But oh well. Whatever.

This was now enough proof that we weren't fantasy. I now have a reason to regain what is mine. I was now alive enough!

Living in memory alone won't suffice. Now with this glitter of hope... I can finally introduce myself!

Though this is still not enough... But I will dig deeper!

I will be recognised!

"Hey! You really are being too noisy!"

The librarian yelled.

'Oh. Of course, there will be a librarian here.'

"Ah... Ahaha... We're very sorry... "

Kiezy immediately apologised.

"I'm very sorry!"

Which I followed as it was my fault.
