Worried for their safety, I walked ahead covering them with my back.
...
"Mr. Yui, stand back. This one is dangerous."
Kiezy told me to back down. The person probably looked too sinister for them.
"Yeah. I know."
I replied aware of that fact.
Within my tone, I intended to reassure them that it was not that unusual. However, Kiezy were being too apprehensive. In her view that I couldn't see, this person was probably too much than I could ever have expected.
With her eyes being toned with dusk due to deep sincerity, she uttered in a rather inarguable manner.
"Mr. Yui. I am serious."
That was firm. However, I just responded to let her know how serious I am.
"I know."
In the same manner, as if worried about the fact that I couldn't understand how serious the situation was, Kiezy began raising her voice.
"Mr. Yui! You don't know anything about this one!"
"..."
That could just give me a blank thought.
Being somewhat serious in my own reason, I let out my totally rational response.
"You also don't know anything about me."
I said with a sense of solemnity.
However, it seems it didn't faze Kiezy even a little.
"Mr. Yui... I am serious!"
'Sigh... '
"Don't worry. This won't end up bad."
"..."
Kiezy could just grit her teeth.
"Mr. Yui! You seriously don't know anything about this! Please get away from here!"
I could just wonder what's up.
Looking at Kiezy, it seems she was asking me to withdraw for all reasons.
Wasn't it I who was supposed to be mysterious here?
This fiend also just stole a line from me.
UNFORGIVABLE!
I am the intangible person here! The one who came from the dead!
In this world, you all can be relatives! But I am from the distant past!
I can't let you disregard my being the intangible ruler!
With that thought in mind, I just walked ahead.
"Tsk!"
Kiezy could just click her tongue in the background.
The fiend began moving.
"Not gonna go anywhere!"
Exclaiming in playful tone, Zetra began letting out large magic circles behind her; all directed to the unannounced guest.
"Hey, Zetra!"
With whole deep, Kiezy yelled at Zetra.
After all... What is this fool doing?
Seeing those numerous massive and aggressive-looking magic circles, one could easily tell that it won't let this place remain standing!
"Fire! Ahahaha!"
The magic circles; all release a destructive and intense burst of concentrated power.
Tsiiiw... Tsiiiw... Tsiiiw...
Were what could just be heard as those massive lines of lights or just pure burst of firepowers rain down on the place.
"This...!"
Kiezy could just exclaim in frustration.
"This is bad...!"
Preparing myself for a lounge so that I could intercept the destructive barrage, I saw the fiend act to defend itself.
For the fiend realising they're cornered and have no way to dodge, the only thing they could do was clash with the attack.
Although the night was dark, it became darker as the fiend accumulated a considerable amount of energy on their scythe. (Well, it was not totally dark, due to the illumination of the stars and the brightness of the moon, the place was clear, reigned over by the mesmerising azure sky. For the fiend to change the tone due to their immense power... )
Swaying it towards Zetra...
SHOOOWG...
...
["...!"]
...
I was apprehensive at first because intercepting Zetra's attack could be a little troublesome. Also, I was a little lax due to how ironic the situation was. Imagine how ridiculous it was to block an attack from an ally just because she didn't give it enough thought.
However, I could just get serious; my rather relaxed countenance ending up into a frown.
"This one... "
Whoosh...
As the intense flow of wind was sauntering around the place, I could just think of what had become of Zetra's attack.
Zetra's obliterating barrage vanishes with just that swing.
This was not something to be ignored.
"Hehemm."
Zetra could just let out a smug laugh. Not because she had something to be smug about, but because she's conveying that this person would've taken care of her rather senseless release of magic power. That the fiend was that capable.
"This one can be a good playmate."
Grimacing at the fact, Zetra uttered with a rather troubled smile.
"What are we gonna do?"
Seeing the fiend, who didn't let go of the accumulated energy, walks as their scythe emitting a dense ominous dark aura, Hara could just ask what to do.
"Should I send the signal?" - she added.
"Indeed. It could be the only way to help us out here."
Realising this won't end well, Kiezy decided to call for assistance.
"Oops! Wait, wait. I don't have a plan to wreak havoc for now. You can call him later. Actually, you don't have to. It will all depend on me. I was just here to hang out. And... "
"Him?"
I could just mutter as I wondered who could it be this guy was referring to.
Without pondering to it too much, I moved forward to cut the fiend's escape route.
"You think you can just go without interrogation? I won't let you escape."
Sensing a tremendous aura behind me...
"Mr. Yui. do you want this kingdom left devastated?"
"...?"
"Please stand back, Mr. Yui. Let them go peacefully."
'What exactly is this girl talking about?'
"Mmm... "
Amused by their decision to let them go without trouble, the fiend could just let out that impressed murmur. Noticing something about them, the fiend attempted to guess.
"You three. Are you... "
Raising her hand slightly to the sky and spreading her fingers, Hara could just make the fiend stop.
Without doubt, Hara was warning them that she would send the signal if they continued making nonsense talk.
The fiend was required to leave this instant.
The fiend could just raise their hand as they felt it was nonsense to stay any longer.
With that as if nothing-we-can-do gesture, the fiend left saying...
"Maybe it's good to retreat while I am ahead. See you later, Ilgrair."
Leaving those words, the fiend vanishes into the tranquillity of the night.
...
"They're gone."
The area finally felt free.
From the tight atmosphere that was oppressing the place, finally the experience got lively on this chilly concrete surface.
"Are you alright, Mr. Yui?"
"Y-Yeah!"
'What alright? We didn't even get to fight.'
Still. To think that knights nowadays were this capable.
"Come to think of it, what are the other knights doing?"
There were about a hundred of knights here in this castle. Naturally, I would ask.
"Uh! Ahahaha... I wonder... Right?"
Surprised, Kiezy turned to Hara as to request for assistance.
"H-huh!? Y-yeah. I wonder... Ahahaha... Haha... "
The two could just chuckle.
"That was great! Can't wait for next time!"
Leisurely descending from the sky, Zetra were uttering those words exhilarated by the thrilling event that had just happened.
'Can't wait?'
Can't she understand that her attack just now was completely ineffective?
Well. Whatever.
"How troublesome... "
Muttering, I turned to the horizon then shifted my sight to the sky.
Considering dearly of what happened, I could just let out a breath as I presume that this will give me a guaranteed discomfort.
"This can be a potential trouble in the future."
I uttered as I let the clear blue sky fill me with heart-deep relaxation.
...
Surprisingly, the news did not get out. It didn't even become a talk in the castle. The knights were just walking around there and there like nothing happened.
"What is happening?" - Confused, I muttered.
I've thought of reaching out to those three but I think it's for the best to just leave it this way. I've also finally shaken them off. Couldn't just let my situation go back to square one.
I mean, I couldn't act free. With them around, I was getting closer and closer to getting exposed. It's too delicate a path to walk on.
I guess I should just let myself end up as a loner. However, it could also undoubtedly attract suspicion; only making me more suspicious. Maybe I should find a knight that I could trust. Not to hide secrets, but not to be too curious over little things that could reveal secrets.
"I wonder if there's a person like that... "
I muttered as I lifted my head turning my sight to the golden brown ceiling.
"I guess none... Huh?"
I was standing on my usual post by the way. Although there was no strict order to line up for majestic display, I was just clinging to my duty. After all, like this, I can easily emit an aura that says Don't come talking to me.
I was currently facing at the large wide-open window in front of me. Relishing the view through it as the vivid red curtains were fluttering on its sides.
That's why... Who would get bored standing here? I mean the cool fresh air was whooshing directly into me.
"Hmmmmph... Aaaah... !"
Satisfied with the spot and display, I could just let out a contented breath.
Stretching my sight through the window toward someone who was sitting on a bench...
"...?"
The person turned to me in wonder. She probably noticed someone looking.
I attempted to sway my sight but...
"Heh."
Probably amused, the girl gave me a faint smile.
Seriously...
Judging from her situation, she was like not the sociable type, so why suddenly make contact with me?
In such cases, if you hate communication or paying attention, you should just ignore your surroundings.
There was absolutely no problem with her reacting to me, but...
Seriously I was trying to do my best not to attract attention here, you know!
To think just some random bystander would make contact with me...
"Just how unfortunate am I?"
