Chapter 3 - Tension in the quiet room

Tension in the quiet room

After a little while of deep imaginations and thoughts,

The sound of water faded as he turned off the low music, and then he pushed the bathroom door open. A fresh, clean scent of soap fragrance and warm steam followed him into the room and occupied every single corner in my brain.

He came and stood beside the reading desk opposite to me and leaned against the wall shirtless, his skin is still damp, his hair pushed back carelessly as he stared at me and asked,

"What are you reading". His voice was deep and calm, as if he already knew what my answer would be.

"Anatomy", I said with a shaky voice, the intimidating scent of him and the weight of his presence half naked before me wouldn't let me stare too much at him.

"I know it's anatomy, explain the particular topic you are reading to me then" he said calmly this time, as he went and stood behind me and rested his elbows on the back of my chair. That left me helpless because I could feel the warmth of his breath as he breathed out at the side of my face.

My mind scrambled because there was nothing I had understood since I got into that room. All that came to my lips was the little I understood from Miss Victoria's lecture before he came into the hall earlier during the day.

I explained or just mentioned the parts of the skeleton, the major bones and their divisions quickly and nervously. " I understood this part ".

"Good, let me explain further so that you can be ahead," he said calmly with a teasing voice.

Before I could protest, both of his arms reached forward, both of his hands resting on either side of me as he opened his laptop, the screen lit up with a picture of him and his grandmother when he was a little bit younger in a graduation gown and cap.

He opened the skeletal system and was scrolling and pointing through the diagram.

"Here the skeletal system…. Look at this joint.. "The way it moves … The way it supports", his voice explained, but my mind was far away from anatomy.

All I felt was him, his presence wrapped around me like a wall, his scent, the warmth of his breath and the low lum of his voice right before my ears whenever he spoke. My eyes flicked on the screen, but my mind refused to hold on to the diagrams or videos he played. I was restless, my heart was hammering so loudly I feared he could hear it.

And still spoke calm and steady like he was in complete control. "Of course he is".

Just when the room felt heavy, a sudden knock rattled the silence. I rejoiced in my seat, grateful for the interruption.

He straightened and sighed in silence and walked to the door. I used that brief moment to breathe and put my hands on my chest to calm my rumbling heart beat.

At the door, a delivery man handed him a plastic bag and, after a brief talk, he shut the door again.

The smell of crispy fries and fried chicken with tangy ketchup filled the room.

He kept the plastic bag on the dining table before the door. For a moment i thought that is over, that the food would distract him, But when he came back to me he sounded steady and said "Where were we?" That sound shattered the uprightness in me and took me back to my fantasy land of lustful desire.

He leaned down again, finishing his explanation when he closed the laptop and said in that calm tone "let's eat".

I nodded quickly, eager for the change, and pushed my chair back to rise, but as soon as I stood up his eyes fell on my seat.

His facial expression changed as he reached down, brushing his hands on my seat fabric exactly where I sat. The touch was slow and deliberate. When he lifted his hands, there was a trace of wetness. He glanced at me, rubbing his thumb against his forefingers.

My blood froze, it wasn't blood. No. It was something more intimate that betrayed my body in ways my words can't confess.Slick, warm, unmistakably the liquid of arousal.

It was my p*ssy juice.

He showed me the glistening trace of his fingers and said "Are you this comfortable…"

The question was teasing with a light smile.

My voice froze as I lowered my gaze because that question had no answer.

He didn't press further, he wiped his fingers with toilet paper and walked towards the dining table and gestured for me to sit.

The bag opened, releasing an even stronger aroma. Fries, crisp and golden, piled beside spiced chicken legs. Small packets of ketchup and sauce lay tucked in neatly. He served himself, casually, taking a seat opposite me.

I lowered myself into the chair slowly, every movement stiffened with embarrassment.

My hands lay still on my laps, the food looked delicious, but my stomach was tangled in knots that i couldn't pick a single fry.

He noticed. He always noticed. His gaze lingered on my untouched plate, then on the flush still high on her cheeks. A corner of his mouth lifted as though he understood everything.

"You are not eating," he said with a light tone and not unkind.

I shook my head faintly. " I….. I can't".

Without a word, he put the food into the container and put it in the plastic bag and handed it toward me and said " Take it with you…. You can eat it later".

My hands trembled as i accepted it.

Then he stood and walked to the wardrobe and pulled out a dark jacket. Before i could resist, he stepped behind me again, draping it around my waist and tying it firmly. His hands brushed her hips lightly as he knotted the sleeves.

"If anyone asks you… tell them you got your period and somebody offered you his jacket to cover up". He murmured close to my ear.

I could barely breathe.

His eyes steady on mine, calm but carrying something deeper beneath. For a second, it felt as though the room itself leaned closer, waiting.

I lowered my gaze, clutched the bag tightly, and walked toward the door. My knees threatened to buckle with each step, but somehow i managed to keep my balance.

The corridor beyond was silent, also too dark after the dim intimacy of his room. I closed the door behind me, pressing her back against it for a brief moment, my heart thundering.

My mind spun: How will I explain the jacket? What will my roommates say when they see the food package? And more than that…

I hugged the bag tighter, heat rising in my chest. How will I survive the next time we're alone? Will I even want to resist?...
