Cherry's POV
"Wow, I just got two pinkies here, and both are freaking beautiful! I'm so lucky today," Nathan said, smiling awkwardly. I knew right away he was trying to save me from embarrassment
I loved him even more He was rich, famous, and still such a good person. Wow.
"What's your name, beauty?" he asked, looking at me, Me? My heart stopped I prayed it was a dream, because I didn't want to wake up.
"I-I'M CHERRY!" I shouted nervously, my voice cracking. I swear, I thought I was having a heart attack.
"Cherry, calm down. You're a good girl I actually like you, you're such a cutie pie," he said, stepping closer and gently petting my hair. That's when I realized it had to be a dream because something this magical? This unreal? It could never happen to me.
Sure, Nathan was known for flirting with fan girls on stage… but me? No way never.
"Actually, the name suits you better," he added, "You're sweet like a cherry. Did you know that? Everyone, scream CHERRY!"
"CHEEEERRYYYY!!" the crowd roared back, and I swear I could see Belinda's envy burning through her eyes.
"I wish it could be me! Cherry, you're so lucky!" the girls screamed from the crowd.
I turned to look for the other girl in pink, but she was gone. It was just me and Nathan. My face was no, my entire body turned red, my eyes welled up, my heart pounded like a drum, and I felt like I was on fire.
"Oh, beautiful girls don't cry, Cherry," he said, gently wiping away my tears
I couldn't take it anymore
I passed out.
****
I woke up in the hospital about an hour later, with Belinda hugging me in total relief
"What happened?" I asked, sitting up, confused and worried
"Girl! I would've passed out too if I were you, damn, that was too much, Nathan!"
"No, seriously what happened? All I remember is this… dream a really beautiful dream." I smiled, dazed.
"You idiot, that wasn't a dream, dummy! Nathan actually brought you here, and you're trending on every social media, check your phone right now!" She handed it to me.
Sure enough, my phone was blowing up with notifications, and not the good kind.
The video of me fainting had gone viral, and people were being ruthless. Some were laughing at me, others hating on me; they said I was faking it to get Nathan's attention, and they accused me of being desperate.
Even in my fangirl group chat, people were furious, some were talking about removing me from the group, but what did I do wrong? Seriously, I didn't mean to faint. It just… happened.
Then again, if it hadn't been me, maybe I would've been one of those mean fans, mocking the "crazy girl" who passed out at Nathan's concert.
When I was finally discharged, Belinda brought me home. After she left, I rushed to the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face I was sweating like crazy.
Staring at my reflection, I couldn't stop thinking about everything, I laughed at myself.
"Cherry, you're so dumb," I muttered.
After a long shower, I picked up my phone to order pizza, I was in no mood to cook.
Suddenly, my phone rang.
A new number!
A crazy fan? Oh no, please no...
I picked up nervously.
"This is Nathan's manager, we're terribly sorry for not calling you sooner," he said.
Nathan's manager? What?! Why was he calling me? How did he even get my number?
"I heard you were discharged, we wanted to at least cover your hospital bills," he continued.
"Oh, you don't have to! It's all my fault, I'm sorry for causing trouble," I replied politely.
"All right, Cherry. One more thing don't ever call this number again, okay?" he said
And then he hung up.
What? Why would I even call that number? What is he taking me for? He's crazy!
