"Want to run? Dream on!"
Killer Bee and the others saw Kakashi's movements and immediately understood Konoha's plan. They weren't going to let him repeat the same trick.
Inside Hiruko, Sasori sneered and controlled the Third Kazekage to fly high, shooting out countless magnetic shuriken.
However, these weren't aimed at the Konoha ninjas, but at the direction Kakashi was likely to escape.
Sasori of the Red Sand was experienced in battle. He glanced at Kakashi and the Konoha team's positions, saw some clues, and guessed that such extreme speed might be hard to control even for Kakashi himself. So, he immediately started testing.
It worked perfectly. Kakashi suddenly stopped, braking hard, and the speed hadn't even built up before it died.
However, he wasn't discouraged. Instead, he changed direction, preparing to use the technique again.
The Third Kazekage's Magnet Release was powerful, but the number of magnets was limited. After using all his strength before, there weren't many left. He could stop Kakashi once, but not a second time.
However, during that brief stop, Killer Bee and Kakuzu caught up.
"White-haired kid, don't think you can escape."
Killer Bee let out a yell, and a blue light flashed on his red tailed beast cloak. His speed instantly increased several times, rushing forward.
Behind him, Kakuzu not only didn't stop Killer Bee, but instead unfurled four demonic black wings and shot eight black spears at the Konoha team.
Hiashi Hyuga and the others' faces changed. They wanted to fly out of the way, but worried that the enemy would take the chance to attack Kakashi, so they had to stay put and use defensive ninjutsu.
But defending against Kakuzu's attacks was already difficult, and they couldn't spare any more energy to deal with Killer Bee.
The two who were just fighting earlier had silently pulled off a perfect team move.
So, Killer Bee, unimpeded, passed right over the Konoha ninja team and caught up to Kakashi, whose speed hadn't reached its maximum yet.
In a split second, the two were within striking distance.
"Kid, don't even think about it!"
Killer Bee stomped hard, cracking the thick tree trunk with one kick, and his speed increased again, actually overtaking Kakashi.
"Lightning Release Super-Vibrating Lightning Blade!"
After a wild roar, Killer Bee twisted his waist and abdomen, using his powerful core strength to gather his forward momentum into his thick arm, which he slashed at Kakashi like a battle-axe.
The speed was so fast that Kakashi couldn't dodge in time.
In that life-or-death moment, a bit of understanding came to him.
Each Raikage trains in 'Lightning Release Chakra Mode', and they will have a partner in the village who works well with them to use 'Lightning Release Super-Vibrating Lightning Blade'. Killer Bee is one of the members of this generation's A-B combo.
If he were slow or had poor reflexes, how could he keep up with the Fourth Raikage's speed?
Killer Bee had always been known as the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki, and Kakashi himself had been fooled by it, underestimating his individual abilities.
But realizing this now was too late. He had no room to dodge.
With a loud crash, Kakashi flew backward, actually being knocked back to where the Konoha ninja team was before, smashing a large hole in the ground.
"Cough cough cough..."
Kakashi spat out a mouthful of blood, falling weakly to the ground, unable to stand, and had lost the ability to fight.
However, most of this damage came from hitting the ground, not from the 'Lightning Release Super-Vibrating Lightning Blade'.
If that move had hit him directly, it wouldn't have been just a serious injury. With his weak body, he would have died instantly.
Lying in the deep pit, Kakashi's face was covered by a shadow. Tsunade, who had taken the hit for him, had recovered most of her strength and was able to stand up.
What can I say? As expected of one of the 'Sannin'.
Kakashi sighed sincerely, but a bitter smile appeared on his face.
This is really losing both the battle and the war. Not only did they fail to save Tsunade, but they themselves were going to be trapped here.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh...
After a series of whooshing sounds, Sasori and Kakuzu, Killer Bee and the Kumogakure ninjas, and many human puppets, had surrounded the Konoha ninja team.
Even if he wasn't seriously injured now, there would be no way to escape from here.
Hinata, Hyuga and the others protected Kakashi and Tsunade in the middle, watching the surrounding crowd with watchful eyes. Their hearts sank.
"Heh..."
From inside Hiruko, Sasori let out a chuckle, his voice echoing in the dense forest. "Everyone from Kumogakure, why don't we eliminate the Konoha ninjas first, and then decide who gets Princess Tsunade of Konoha, how about it?"
The Kumogakure side looked at each other, seemingly tempted.
They had all participated in the previous war and had a lot of hostility towards the Konoha ninjas, so much so that they didn't mind cooperating with these two S-class missing-nin.
Killer Bee, however, spoke in a strange tone,
"If you get rid of the Konoha ninjas, we would probably be next, haha, what a nice plan."
"I, Killer Bee, the handsome me, won't fall for it!"
The Kumogakure ninjas were reminded and realized that they didn't have an advantage facing Sasori and Kakuzu alone.
Compared to these two powerful opponents, the weak Konoha side was the one they could cooperate with.
They had just been blinded by bloodlust before and weren't as calm as Killer Bee, and they hadn't seen it.
"Tsk tsk... I thought they were crazy guys, but I didn't know their minds were so clear."
Sasori didn't care about the failed attempt and continued to attack with the puppets.
The Kumogakure ninjas had bodies of flesh and blood and their numbers were limited. He still had many hidden puppets in reserve that could wear them down, it would just take more time.
The battle broke out again. Other than the addition of the Konoha side, the situation was the same as before.
Killer Bee led the Kumogakure ninjas and the two missing-nin fought each other, sometimes at a disadvantage, sometimes being pushed back by the other side.
But in any case, both sides were holding Tsunade and the others back, not giving them any chance to escape.
The battle had entered a delicate balance, and it was very fragile and could be broken at any time.
...
And not far from the battlefield, there was another force hidden that could break the deadlock.
Watching the Konoha group in such danger, Shisui's face was full of worry. "Orochimaru-sama, aren't we going to help?"
Their team arrived at about the same time as Kakashi's team, only about ten minutes off.
The reason was simple: Kakashi had to search for Tsunade's location, but they only had to follow the marks left by the former.
Shisui had originally planned to cooperate directly with Kakashi, but he was stopped by Orochimaru, and he watched them fail again and again, gradually falling into a heavy siege.
Now that Kakashi was also seriously injured, Shisui could no longer contain himself.
"Don't be impatient, wait and see."
Orochimaru glanced at the silent figure in the center of the battlefield, but still looked relaxed.
A smile showed at the corner of his mouth, and he looked at the woman next to him, "I will need to ask you to continue concealing our presence."
Tagorihime covered her mouth and giggled, "It's nothing, it's a good chance for me to get some fresh air."
The two talked to each other, the light mood was like a picnic, but it made the surrounding Konoha ninjas feel cold.
Kakashi and them were fighting for their lives, but did Orochimaru-sama truly have everything planned out, or did he simply not care about Tsunade or Kakashi's lives?
Shisui was confused, and the three-tomoe Sharingan in his eyes spun rapidly, staring intently at the changes in the battlefield.
He had made up his mind. If Kakashi and the others were in mortal danger, he would recklessly go to save them, even if he was punished by Orochimaru-sama afterward.
