Bambi's POV
The shower water was warm. It ran down my back in slow rivers. Steam filled the small bathroom. I closed my eyes. Let it wash away the morning.
Dawn's touch still lingered. On my skin. In my mind. The silk tie. His mouth. The way he said good girl.
I turned the water off. Stepped out. The mirror was foggy. I wiped a circle with my hand. My face looked back. Flushed. Eyes bright.
I smiled a little.
Wrapped a towel around me. Soft and white.
The room was quiet when I came out. Sunlight slanted through the curtains. Dust floated in the beams.
I sat on the bed. The sheets were still warm from us. I pulled his shirt over my head. It smelled like him. Cedar. Something dark.
A soft knock landed on the door.
I froze.
"Bambi?"
Sable. It was Sable.
My heart jumped. I stood. Walked to the door. Opened it slow.
She stood there. Hood down. Bruise on her cheek. Purple. Fresh.
Her eyes were red. Like she'd cried.
