Chapter 198 - The Chessboard of the Multiverse: The Time Traveler's Layout

Thanos sat on the Obsidian Throne, his face as dark as an impending storm. A heavy silence enveloped the surroundings, broken only by the soft chanting of ancient spells from an alien priest beside him. The priest's long, slender hand glowed softly as it slowly covered Thanos's chest, healing the wounds left from the previous battle.

"Black Dwarf, Proxima Midnight," Thanos's deep voice rumbled through the silent hall like thunder.

Black Dwarf and Proxima Midnight exchanged glances, their eyes revealing an indescribable understanding and tension. They slowly knelt, bowing their heads respectfully, and said, "Great Lord Thanos, we... we let Loki and his companions escape."

Thanos's gaze fell upon them like a knife. He raised one hand, clenching it slightly, as if he could crush them with just a little force. He didn't immediately erupt in anger but asked coldly, "What about Corvus Glaive and Supergiant? What is their itinerary?"

Proxima Midnight was the first to lower her head and reply, "Lord Corvus Glaive and Supergiant are heading to the designated target location, intending to seize... another Stone."

Thanos's fist slowly unclenched, a flicker of thought crossing his eyes. He didn't scold them but said in a low voice, "You know I need results, not excuses."

Black Dwarf and Proxima Midnight bowed their heads simultaneously, saying again, "Yes, Lord."

Just then, a Strange halo suddenly appeared in the hall. The halo condensed into a figure in the air, and a tall man in ancient Egyptian-style robes stepped out. His gaze was sharp, seemingly able to see through everything, yet a subtle cold smile hung on his face.

"I can tell you why they failed," a Strange voice broke the silence of the great hall.

Black Dwarf and Proxima Midnight instantly leaped up, their weapons flashing with cold light, vigilantly blocking Thanos, their eyes fixed on the newcomer.

"Who are you? How dare you trespass here!" Black Dwarf roared angrily.

"Calm down, puppy," Rama-Tut said leisurely, his tone filled with condescending contempt. "I am here to help your great Master, not to bother with you guard dogs."

"Shut up!" Proxima Midnight's glaive gleamed with cold light as she took a slight step forward.

"Enough," Thanos raised a hand, signaling them to stand down. His gaze locked onto Rama-Tut, his voice carrying a sense of oppression: "State your identity, and tell me, your intentions."

Black Dwarf and Proxima Midnight hesitated for a moment, finally retreating slowly behind Thanos. The priest continued his chanting, the light in his hand flickering slightly, but he couldn't help but secretly glance at Rama-Tut.

A meaningful smile played on Rama-Tut's lips. He bowed slightly, his tone calm but with a hidden threat: "I, am Rama-Tut, a traveler from the future. And I am here because you are facing an unavoidable war."

"The future?" Thanos's brow furrowed slightly. His voice was steady, but a hint of vigilance appeared in his eyes. "Do you think your lies can sway me?"

"Lies?" Rama-Tut shook his head slightly, waving a hand, and a blue energy screen appeared in the void. Images of Dominic, Eddie and Venom, Deadpool, Logan, America, Miles Morales, and Peter appeared on the screen one by one.

"These people are your greatest threat right now," Rama-Tut said with a hint of mockery in his tone, "They have not only obstructed your plans but are likely to completely destroy them."

Thanos's gaze fell upon Dominic on the screen. His voice was low and dangerous: "Who is he?"

"A powerhouse from another World," Rama-Tut's tone carried a hint of awe, but more calculation, "His strength can even rival yours, even with the Power Stone."

"Rival?" A cold smile appeared on Thanos's face, "Before my throne, no one can rival me."

"Of course," Rama-Tut nodded, "But if these people unite, plus your enemies the Avengers, are you sure you can escape unscathed?"

Thanos fell into a moment of contemplation. His gaze swept over the images on the screen, a hint of hesitation showing in his eyes.

"I am not here to threaten you, but to offer a shortcut," Rama-Tut continued, "I can help you acquire more Stones and completely eliminate those who dare to oppose you."

Thanos's gaze sharpened, his voice low: "What do you want?"

"I need you, and your army." Rama-Tut's smile deepened, "My goals and yours do not conflict. On the contrary, we can become the most perfect allies."

Thanos was silent for a moment, finally nodding slowly. A dangerous arc lifted at the corner of his mouth: "Very well. Then, tell me your plan."

Stephen Strange, draped in the red Cloak of Levitation, slowly walked into the temporary Asgardian base. His gaze swept over the unconscious Thor, lingered on Loki for a moment, then scanned the row of unfamiliar faces, finally stopping on Deadpool, who was using his katanas as a mirror to adjust his mask.

"It seems I've missed something... interesting," Strange's tone was calm, yet held a hint of confusion.

Deadpool instantly raised his hand: "Ah! I know this opening line! 'Missed something interesting,' are you going to give some unimportant warning next, then force us to join a doomsday party?"

Loki rolled his eyes: "Shut up, clown. Strange, just say it, what are you doing here?"

Strange sighed, turning his gaze to Loki: "I felt the Earth's Space Stone fluctuating, and at the same time, Dr. Banner fell from space into my Sanctum. The news he brought compels me to be here—Thanos is coming, and Earth is about to face an unprecedented catastrophe."

Before he finished speaking, Deadpool was already waving his katanas, excitedly running into the middle of the group: "Wait, wait! Did you hear that? 'Catastrophe'! That's movie trailer level vocabulary! Shouldn't we have some epic background music, slow motion, and then I—" he said, striking an exaggerated charging pose.

Logan took a deep drag from his cigar: "Can you just calm down, Red Socks?"

"Red Socks?" Deadpool stopped, looking at Logan with a shocked expression, "Are you serious, Logan? Couldn't you come up with a cooler nickname, like 'Mr. Sexy Invincible'?"

"Shut up," Logan turned his head away impatiently.

Dominic slowly stepped forward, standing in front of Strange, his tone calm: "Thanos is indeed powerful, but he is not my match. In space, we fought—he relied on the Power Stone, while I relied solely on my own strength."

Strange looked at Dominic, his brow furrowing slightly: "Your confidence in your strength might be justified, but Thanos's goal is all the Stones. His power far exceeds your imagination."

"Please, Doctor," Deadpool chimed in, striking an exaggerated thinking pose, "How do you know Dominic isn't playing the Dragon Ball style of hiding his power? Exploding in one second, then Thanos kneels and shouts 'Impossible'? Classic trope."

Strange turned to look at Deadpool, a hint of helplessness in his eyes: "Are you always this distracting?"

"Distraction is an art," Deadpool raised a finger, saying earnestly, "Art is an attitude, and attitude is my superpower."

Miles Morales couldn't stand it anymore and whispered to Peter: "Who is this guy anyway? He doesn't fit in with us normal people at all."

Peter sighed: "Long story short, he's trouble."

Loki gave a cold laugh, raising his hand to point at Strange: "So, you mean, Thanos has already arrived on Earth?"

"That's right," Strange nodded, his voice low, "And his next target is very likely everyone on this land."

Deadpool clapped his hands together: "Wait! Are you saying, Thanos is here, and we're going to fight a battle to defend Earth? This feels like Avengers 3.5! But with a few more of us messy characters, tsk tsk, it's simply perfect chaotic aesthetics."

America couldn't help but roll her eyes: "This guy's mouth just won't stop."

Strange looked at Dominic: "If Thanos appears again, how do you plan to deal with him?"

Dominic's eyes were cold, but his tone was full of confidence: "Simple—make him regret living in this Universe."

Deadpool raised his hands behind him: "I propose we have a celebratory dinner first, then wait for Thanos to come find us. Anyway, with me on the team, we're guaranteed to win." He paused, looked at Strange, and suddenly changed his tone: "Oh, by the way, Doctor, can your Cloak of Levitation give me a ride? I want to film a short video, called 'Flying Deadpool'!"

Strange took a deep breath, turned, and whispered to Loki: "Can this group of people really defeat Thanos?"

Loki curved a dangerous smile: "Don't worry, they can at least annoy him to death."
