Chapter 47 - Blood Bag

The smoke of Sokovia had not yet cleared when the Red Room's transport plane landed on the temporarily cleared open ground.

The hatch slowly opened, and Melina stepped out first, her tactical boots making a slight sound as they touched the scorched earth. Behind her, 15-year-old Natasha Romanoff held onto the hatch with one hand, her red hair sweeping up in a sharp arc in the wind.

(Regarding Natasha's age change: My previous description of Natasha being five or six years old was my mistake. I only roughly watched the Black Widow movie once, basically at triple speed, and the impression of young Natasha's thin body led me to believe she was only five or six. This was my mistake. Fortunately, a reader pointed out that Natasha should have been around 10-11 years old at that time. I have already modified the previous text. No wonder I thought the age of Black Widow's defection from the Red Room didn't match the age in my book. It was my fault, and I apologize with a bow.)

"It's him," the girl's voice was faint, but her fingertips gripping the hatch had turned white.

The back that had left without a word three years ago was now standing in front of the medical tent two hundred meters away, the hem of his black trench coat stained with blood, talking to Alexei.

Seven-year-old Yelena, lollipop in mouth, came closer, "Who is it, big sister?" The candy rolled around in her mouth, making her words adorably muffled.

Natasha didn't answer. She took a deep breath and suddenly leaped from the three-meter-high hatch.

Her tactical boots leveraged the scorched earth three times, each push precisely avoiding rubble and shell craters. The fifteen-year-old girl's body already displayed the explosive power of a top Agent, and the fifteen-meter distance vanished in an instant.

"Chen Tian!!!"

The moment the man turned at the sound, Natasha's whip kick, accompanied by a whooshing sound, attacked his temple.

This strike was at least three times more powerful than three years ago, the result of countless hours of practice against steel pillars in the Red Room training ground.

"Bang—!"

He raised his hand to block, easily deflecting Natasha's kick.

"Oh?" Chen Tian raised an eyebrow, a playful smile on his lips, "Ha, Nat, haven't seen you in a few years, your temper's grown, huh."

Natasha used the force to flip backward and land, the lines of her body, encased in the tactical suit, already showing signs of maturity.

She adopted a modified close-quarters combat stance, complex emotions swirling in her emerald eyes: "January 17, 1996, Kathmandu, Nepal."

"You abandoned Yelena and me without a word!"

Chen Tian was stunned for a moment, then chuckled, "So that's what this is about?"

He reached out to ruffle her red hair, but it was parried by a hand chop. Just as he was about to explain, his peripheral vision caught another little cannonball sprinting towards them.

"Yorha big sister!" Yelena's cheer interrupted the standoff.

The little girl charged towards 2B like a golden cannonball, but slammed on the brakes at the last second, shyly adjusting her bow hairpin before throwing herself into the silver-haired warrior's arms: "I… I completed the training program you left for me well! And… and I missed you so much."

2B ruffled Yelena's hair, "I missed you too."

Yelena smiled, enjoying 2B's caress, "Nat," Chen Tian suddenly reached out, "Need to be like Yelena and…"

"Do you take me for a seven-year-old?" Natasha sneered.

But her gaze involuntarily darted towards 2B. Yelena was hanging onto 2B like a koala, and 2B's expression was no longer cold; a warm smile played on her lips, and her movements as she stroked the little girl's hair were exceptionally gentle.

Chen Tian grinned mischievously, opening his arms: "Come on, don't be shy~"

"Go to hell!" Natasha delivered a beautiful roundhouse kick straight for Chen Tian's face, which he dodged with a laugh.

Natasha stood with her back to Chen Tian; the little girl from three years ago had grown up. Now she understood that some questions shouldn't be asked, and some answers shouldn't be heard.

The Red Room's training taught her that secrets are like landmines—the less you know, the safer you are. So, regarding Chen Tian's sudden disappearance, she didn't pursue the matter. (Chen Tian met Natasha's family in 1995 and took control of the Red Room in the same year. After going to Kamar-Taj in 1996, he was teleported to 1999.)

She took a deep breath, suppressing the swirling emotions in her heart, and turned to walk towards 2B. At this moment, 2B was cradling Yelena with one hand, the little girl chattering about the interesting things that had happened over the past three years.

"Yorha big sister," Natasha's voice was open and confident, her hands on her hips, a bright smile on her face.

"Long time no see, Natasha," 2B smiled at Natasha.

Chen Tian watched Natasha and Yelena chattering nonstop around 2B, and then a voice came from behind him.

"Oh? Our 'Shadow Commander' finally decided to show up?" Melina stood behind Chen Tian with her arms crossed, a cold sneer on her red lips, "Three years ago, you just left a 'Hibernation Protocol' and even had Mr. Ban stationed at headquarters, and what happened?" Her voice was filled with strong dissatisfaction, "Even Ban suddenly disappeared."

Chen Tian awkwardly touched his nose, suddenly remembering that he had been inexplicably transported to this point in time again by the Time Stone's energy in Kamar-Taj. Perhaps such a situation would occur again next time.

His expression grew serious, "Melina, find a safe place, call Alex, I need to talk to you about my sudden disappearance."

Melina's cold sneer instantly changed. She keenly caught the unusual glint in Chen Tian's eyes and immediately turned around: "Alexei!" Her voice already carried the sharpness characteristic of a Red Room Commander.

The large man, who was checking on the wounded, suddenly looked up. Melina quickly spoke a few words in Russian. Alexei's expression rapidly changed from surprise to solemnity. He patted the medic's shoulder, gave a few instructions, and as he strode over, he had already pressed the encrypted communication on his wristband: "Safe Room B7, full radio shielding activated in three minutes."

Natasha, who had been chatting with 2B about the interesting things of the past few years, sensed that the atmosphere was off. She slightly turned her head and saw the serious expressions of her adoptive parents and Chen Tian.

She frowned slightly, 'Something's not right, is there some sudden incident?' she secretly wondered.

As Natasha pondered, 2B gently patted her shoulder. She quickly turned her head and saw 2B smiling gently, "Natasha, don't guess, let's go, let's go together and see."

Natasha's confusion showed on her face, "Can I… go? I'm not Red Room high-ranking personnel."

2B, holding Yelena, walked past Natasha and towards Chen Tian, "Come on, Master won't mind."

Natasha looked in Chen Tian's direction, and Chen Tian happened to be looking at her, beckoning to her.

She took a deep breath and quickly followed 2B's footsteps.

— — — —

The temporary metal door of Safe Room B7 silently closed behind them, and the air circulation system hummed softly.

This so-called safe room was just an Underground Room. The room above the Underground Room was temporarily requisitioned by Red Room Agents, and all the equipment inside the Underground Room had only just been set up.

"All communication channels are cut, encryption protocol activated." She looked up from the screen at Chen Tian, "Now, Commander, what do you have to tell us?"

Chen Tian smiled, signaling everyone not to be nervous and to sit down first.

After everyone was seated, Chen Tian tapped the table with his fingers, "In 1996, I went to Kamar-Taj, you all know about this, but I accidentally got roped in by Ancient One."

As he spoke, Chen Tian rubbed his nose. He was deceiving them because he didn't know whether he should tell them that he was affected by the Time Stone's energy and had become an unstable time-traveler.

But this action made Natasha narrow her eyes—Chen Tian always made this small gesture when he lied.

"What do you mean? And who is Ancient One?" Alexei rubbed the back of his head, completely confused by Chen Tian's words.

Chen Tian glanced at 2B, who spoke for him: "Ancient One is the Sorcerer Supreme of this World, a Sorcerer specifically protecting this World from invasion by external evil forces."

"Uh, what?" Alexei's eyes widened, "Am I still drunk from last night or something? How are Sorcerers coming out now?"

Chen Tian laughed, "You're not drunk, it's all real. There are many mysterious existences in this World; as long as they don't actively expose themselves, no one can find them."

"Chen Tian, you haven't explained being roped in yet," Melina interrupted Alexei, who was about to speak again.

"Oh, right. You can feel it, can't you? My 'family members' and I, our powers are clearly far beyond ordinary people, right?"

"Hmm, I can feel that," Melina nodded.

"So, because of our abilities, she pulled us in to be conscripted. From now on, I might still disappear from time to time," Chen Tian shrugged.

"That's not fair!" Natasha stood up, and everyone looked at her. She was somewhat angry, "Why? We in the Red Room also have many crises to deal with!"

Melina nodded in response to Natasha's words, "Nat's right. In the years you've been gone, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been constantly targeting us. Even when we went into hiding, they kept searching for us, making our actions against HYDRA very passive."

"S.H.I.E.L.D., you say? Is Nick Fury, that 'black egg', still giving the orders?"

Chen Tian's words made Alexei and Yelena laugh. Alexei laughed so hard he couldn't breathe, slapping the table, "Black... egg... Hahaha... What a vivid... description... Hahaha."

Everyone present was affected by Alexei's loud laughter and started smiling. Melina glared at Alexei exasperatedly before suppressing her smile and speaking to Chen Tian.

"Not just him, but also Pierce from the World Security Council. He's the one instigating Nick Fury."

"That's normal. Alexander Pierce is one of the HYDRA heads lurking within the World Security Council."

"What?" Melina and Alexei stood up abruptly.

"No wonder, no wonder. The HYDRA intelligence we intentionally left for Fury's Agents was completely ignored by them. Instead, they consistently treated us as enemies." Melina finally understood.

"Then can't we just go and eliminate Pierce?" Alexei shouted angrily. Several times during his missions, he encountered S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, and to prevent the World Security Council and S.H.I.E.L.D. from continuing to target them, he didn't dare to kill them.

Chen Tian stroked his chin, deep in thought.

The destruction of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the World Security Council was his plan in 2010. If he were to plan this earlier now, would it cause any changes to events after 99 years? After all, anything he did now could potentially affect the future timeline.

Thinking of this, Chen Tian looked at Natasha, frowning.

'Wait, if that's the case, Natasha clearly didn't recognize me when I attended the Stark Industries charity gala. What's going on with that? Also, now that the Red Room is under my control, will Natasha still defect and join S.H.I.E.L.D.? This... is something wrong here?'

Chen Tian's frown deepened. He couldn't quite figure it out, or perhaps the future timeline had already changed.

'This is the downside of returning to the same timeline's past. Even a slight change can completely alter the future. If I want to revert to my previous timeline, I need to actively change things. But how can I ensure Natasha joins S.H.I.E.L.D.?'

'When did Natasha join S.H.I.E.L.D.? I think I saw on some website that the timeline was between 2000-2008. It's too vague, no specific date. How do I deal with this?'

Natasha looked at Chen Tian with a puzzled frown, but she didn't dare to interrupt. In fact, no one dared to interrupt.

'Never mind, let's go with this!' Chen Tian looked at Melina. "Melina, the Red Room will go into full hibernation. Oh, right, wasn't Dreykov researching the 'Sky Red Room' project before?"

Melina nodded, "Yes, but after you took over, we shifted our focus to eliminating HYDRA."

"Hmm, then restart this project now. Once the 'Sky Red Room' is built, we'll move everything there. The outside Bases can be abandoned, leaving only a few people who were brainwashed during the 'Puppet Protocol'. And Budapest will retain all of the 'puppets'."

"Why do we need to keep Budapest?" Melina didn't understand.

Chen Tian looked at Natasha, "I want to leave it for Natasha."

Everyone looked at Natasha in confusion, even Natasha herself pointed to herself with a surprised finger, "Me?"

"Yes, for you. It's your 'letter of allegiance' to join S.H.I.E.L.D."

"You want me... to be a spy for S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Her voice was calmer than she expected.

Chen Tian tapped his finger on the table: "We're going to create 'the Red Room's last Black Widow.' A perfect weapon defecting with the fire of revenge."

Melina immediately objected: "Nat is only fifteen, S.H.I.E.L.D. won't—"

"So, not now." Chen Tian waved his hand, "Once the 'Sky Red Room' is built, Natasha will first make a name for herself in the black market. Fury will be particularly interested in an 'out-of-control super weapon.'"

"Why do this?" Alexei, the brute, couldn't think that far.

"Emm, Melina, since we broke with HYDRA, how has the Red Room's financial situation been?" Chen Tian didn't answer Alexei but asked Melina.

"Not good, especially now that we're being targeted by both HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D. Even our previous secret accounts have been frozen by S.H.I.E.L.D. So far, we've lost at least a billion dollars."

Chen Tian nodded, "Hmm, this is my plan."

"First, we'll use a few years to let Nat grow and make a name for herself as 'Black Widow' in the Agent World, thereby attracting S.H.I.E.L.D.'s attention."

"Then, they will 'discover' that Nat's behavior is not like a human, but like a machine."

Chen Tian chuckled softly.

"This situation will definitely attract that guy Fury."

"At that time, he will definitely send out Agents to investigate Nat. Oh, right." Chen Tian looked at Natasha.

"Nat, you need to disrupt S.H.I.E.L.D.'s operations a few times. On the surface, you'll complete them alone, but actually..."

"All actions will be supported by the Red Room from behind." Melina interjected. "Is it to show Nat's strength, right?"

"Bingo, that's right. With such a powerful 'Black Widow' who performs missions like a robot, Fury will have no choice but to send his best Agents."

"Then, when Nat is fighting this Agent, she will 'accidentally' show that she is being controlled, but cannot break free."

Chen Tian sneered, "When this situation is revealed, Fury will start investigating Nat's background again."

"And Yorha will be at the Budapest Base, preparing a 'flawless' background for Fury. After Fury investigates thoroughly, Nat will reappear in an operation, 'accidentally' captured by S.H.I.E.L.D., thereby breaking free from control."

"And the first thing she does after breaking free is to show S.H.I.E.L.D. her hatred for the Red Room. From the Red Room Base in Budapest, Nat will obtain a lot of Red Room data from when Dreykov was in charge, and then..."

Chen Tian made an explosion gesture, "With a BOOM, Nat will single-handedly blow up the Red Room Base in Budapest, and then disappear. Until she 'coincidentally' encounters that Agent again. To 'repay' the Agent who awakened her self-awareness, Nat will give all the data she obtained from Budapest to that Agent."

"In this situation, will Fury try to recruit Nat?"

"But there are many uncontrollable factors," Natasha frowned, "For example, how can I ensure that after I'm accidentally captured, that Agent will release me?"

"If he won't release you, why can't we release you, making it seem like your consciousness awakened and you escaped his captivity for revenge?" Chen Tian countered. "You know, this play isn't just you acting alone. You are the protagonist, and behind you, the Red Room is your film crew."

"What's the benefit of doing this?" Melina still didn't quite understand why they were spending so much effort on this.

Chen Tian leaned back slightly in his chair, "It's simple, because we're going to feed off S.H.I.E.L.D."

"?"

"?"

"?"

"?"

Seeing question marks appear on everyone's faces, Chen Tian laughed, "Haha, did you forget what I just said?"

"Alexander Pierce. This former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., now a representative of the World Security Council, do you think S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't have HYDRA infiltration during his time as Director?"

Everyone was stunned.

"So after Nat enters S.H.I.E.L.D., she can start looking for the economic sources of HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D."

"When HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D. discover their finances are in trouble, all clues will point to each other, but behind all of this, it's actually us doing it."

Chen Tian stood up, placing his hands on the table, "When they are fighting fiercely, HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D. will have become our blood bags, continuously replenishing our nourishment and strengthening our bodies."

"Until... the day they collapse... everyone will discover..."

"The Red Room has already become the strongest Agent organization...."
