Chapter 42 - Dante Virus

The Fire in the fireplace crackled, Chen Tian was studying the route on the map, and Vergil was elegantly wiping his Yamato nearby. Dante, on the other hand, was sprawled on the sofa, a toothpick dangling from his mouth—that was their last 'snack'.

Yes, Dante's terrible luck with money had caused this family to lose their hard-earned cash again. Fortunately, 2B was there and managed to save enough money for them to travel to Nepal.

"From New York to Nepal, the cheapest way is to take a boat to Europe first, then transfer by land," Chen Tian frowned. "But that would take at least two months..."

Dante lazily said, "Nephew, don't forget, we're all undocumented. We can barely pay the electricity bill now. By the way, why don't we just fly there directly? We can all use our Demon forms, after all."

"Shut up!"

"Shut up!"

Chen Tian and Vergil were truly afraid of this guy who seemed to be possessed by a god of poverty.

Chen Tian pressed his temples. "We must keep a low profile now, because I don't know if the current timeline we are in is the one I was in before, or if we were sent to another timeline by a spatial-temporal turbulence."

"Master," Uchiha Madara's figure suddenly emerged from the Shadow. "I just 'convinced' a Captain at the dock. He's willing to smuggle us to Morocco."

Vergil raised an eyebrow: "What method did you use this time?"

"I just let him have a nice dream," Madara's Sharingan flickered in the Firelight. "He dreamed he won the lottery, and the condition was to take a few 'friends' to Africa."

"Africa, huh... Sigh...." Chen Tian looked at Madara with a bitter smile. "Since you could 'convince' that Captain, why didn't you just take us directly to Europe? It's closer to Nepal from there..."

"Uh..." Madara was speechless for a moment, as he hadn't studied the map of this World.

"Never mind, never mind. This way, we at least save a sum of money." Chen Tian patted Madara's shoulder. "You did very well, Old Man Madara."

Just then, 2B pushed the door open. Everyone looked at her, and Dante even flipped over, hoping she had brought back some food from Alexei's place.

When everyone saw 2B's empty hands, they all sighed involuntarily, and Dante directly collapsed onto the ground.

2B calmly stepped over Dante, who was sprawled on the ground, her synthetic leather boots precisely avoiding the demon hunter's deliberately outstretched foot meant to trip her.

"Master, there's been a change in the situation," 2B's speech was much faster. "Alexei's family is urgently packing their luggage, and Melina is acting unusually nervous."

Chen Tian abruptly looked up from the map: "When did this happen?"

"Thirty minutes ago," 2B held up three fingers. "They looked calm, but I could tell they were in a hurry."

Chen Tian stroked his chin, recalling the plot of the movie "Black Widow," then clapped his hands.

"That's right! They're escaping the United States!"

Chen Tian's eyes suddenly lit up, and he excitedly slammed the table: "That's right! They're escaping the United States!"

Everyone looked at him blankly. Dante got up from the ground, still with the toothpick in his mouth: "Nephew, did you hit your head? Didn't they say they were going on a family trip?"

"Trip my foot!" Chen Tian laughed loudly. "This is the Red Room's emergency evacuation! They have a private jet!"

Vergil put down his Yamato, deep in thought: "You mean..."

"Hitching a ride!" Chen Tian excitedly spun in a circle. "They must have a complete set of fake documents and flight permits! It's a million times better than us sneaking in!"

Chen Tian's excited expression suddenly froze on his face. He slapped his forehead: "Oh no! I remember now, their private jet is super small, it only seats a few people!"

Dante immediately deflated like a punctured balloon, collapsing back onto the ground: "So it was all for nothing?"

Vergil's slender fingers gently tapped the sheath of the Yamato: "How many people can it seat exactly?"

"I remember..." Chen Tian frowned, recalling, "The standard configuration is four seats, but you can squeeze in a maximum of six."

Madara snorted: "There are five of us."

"Then it's just right!" Dante came back to life. "Their family of four plus our five... Wait, something seems off?"

Vergil elegantly rolled his eyes: "Math genius."

Chen Tian quickly calculated in his mind: "Melina, Alexei, Natasha, Yelena, plus the five of us... That's a total of nine people. This is clearly overloaded."

2B looked at the several foolish men whose spirits had fallen again. She lightly cleared her throat: "Everyone seems to have overlooked a crucial fact." Her voice was still calm, but it instantly quieted the entire room.

"We are Master's summoned beings," her expression was somewhat helpless. "We can enter the summoning space."

The air instantly froze.

The toothpick in Dante's mouth clattered to the ground, Vergil's hand paused in mid-air as he wiped his Yamato, and Madara's Sharingan stopped rotating. Chen Tian's mouth was open wide enough to fit an egg.

"Holy crap!" Chen Tian slapped his forehead hard. "I actually forgot about this!"

Vergil's cheek twitched as he put down his long sword: "...Indeed."

Dante flipped over and jumped up: "Wait! You mean that dark, cramped little room with no pizza?"

"We can stay there permanently," 2B said calmly. "It's just a bit boring, and it's not small at all."

Madara's mouth twitched: "You thought of this a long time ago?"

"When Master first brought up the concept of an airplane," 2B's head tilt had the precise movement characteristic of a machine.

Chen Tian awkwardly covered his face: "So we've been calculating seats like idiots for ages..."

Vergil lightly coughed: "At least we confirmed the plane's capacity."

"And we can protect our Master throughout the journey," 2B added.

Dante suddenly waved his arms: "Wait! Can the summoning space carry game consoles?"

"No!" Chen Tian and Vergil shouted simultaneously.

Madara slowly rose, his Sharingan glowing red in the Firelight: "The plan is simple." He scanned the others. "2B continues her nanny role, and the four of us wait at the airport. After the plane takes off, Master will bring us into the space, and then 2B will take him onboard."

2B looked at Madara, who had proposed the plan. Even as an android, she couldn't help but complain: "Mr. Madara, you seem to have overlooked a key variable. Alexei's family is in an emergency escape. Why would they agree to me accompanying them? Let alone Master?"

The atmosphere in the room instantly solidified.

"Moreover," 2B continued, data streams flickering in her eyes, "if they encounter pursuit, Master's presence would actually increase the risk of exposure. This completely contradicts our strategy of maintaining a low profile."

Chen Tian looked up at the ceiling and sighed: "2B is right! Why didn't I think of that!" Saying that, he glared at Dante, "It must be contagious from you."

Dante spread his hands, looking wronged.

Vergil elegantly raised his eyebrows: "It seems our ninja mister hasn't considered everything thoroughly enough."

Madara's face darkened: "Then do you have a better suggestion?"

2B lowered her gaze slightly, data streams rapidly flickering in her mechanical pupils, as if performing complex probability calculations.

"Mr. Madara," she suddenly looked up, her voice still calm but with a subtle change, "Can your Sharingan... perform mass suggestion on ordinary people?"

Madara's Sharingan rotated slightly: "Mass suggestion?"

"Yes," 2B's fingertip traced a trajectory in the air. "Make Alexei's family subconsciously ignore Master's presence. This way, Master can quietly follow them onto the plane."

The atmosphere in the room suddenly became subtle. Vergil put down his Yamato, looking thoughtfully at Madara. Dante exaggeratedly whistled: "Wow, 2B, that's a sinister idea! I like it!"

Madara's lips curved into a dangerous arc: "No problem, I can easily do that."

2B immediately replied: "According to my observations, the entire process from them leaving their residence to boarding the plane will not exceed 90 minutes."

Chen Tian clapped his hands excitedly: "Perfect! This way, I can sneak onto the plane without anyone knowing!"

Vergil suddenly frowned: "Wait, there's still one problem. What if there are Red Room Agents monitoring on the plane..."

A blue light flashed in 2B's pupils: "I've already implanted a miniature jammer in Natasha's doll, which can temporarily block surveillance equipment."

Dante dramatically clutched his chest: "2B, when did you become so cunning?"

"After spending a long time with Mr. Dante, if I'm not cunning, I can't keep my money," 2B replied expressionlessly, but a subtle smile played on her lips.

Uchiha Madara suddenly stood up, his Sharingan appearing particularly eerie in the firelight: "Then the plan is set. I will apply a mass suggestion to Alexei's family at the appropriate time." He looked at Chen Tian, "Master, I will inform you immediately after I am done."

Chen Tian nodded, then suddenly thought of something, his expression becoming strange: "Uh… in the Summoning Space… you guys won't fight, will you?"

Vergil and Dante exchanged glances, both snorting coldly at the same time. Uchiha Madara had already begun wiping his war fan.

2B sighed softly: "I will ensure flight safety." She paused, then added, "But more than that, what I'm more concerned about is Diablo—he's been holed up in the Summoning Space ever since he came to this point in time."

Chen Tian pouted, "That's his punishment. I'm not afraid of ignoring him; the movies, TV shows, and anime on his tablet are enough to last him hundreds of years."

Outside the window, the snow fell even harder. Chen Tian looked at this group of 'family members' with vastly different personalities and suddenly felt that this free ride might be more… lively than expected.

"Alright everyone," he clapped his hands, "Action time is almost here. 2B, what's the situation with Alexei's family now?"

Data streams flickered in 2B's pupils: "They have already started moving luggage to the garage. Estimated departure in 15 minutes."

Chen Tian took a deep breath: "Then it's settled. Uchiha Madara, prepare your Sharingan. Vergil, Dante…" He looked at the two Devil Hunters, "…try not to fight in the Summoning Space."

Dante gave an OK gesture with a playful grin, while Vergil snorted coldly with his arms crossed.

The flames in the fireplace illuminated everyone's faces. An extraordinary "smuggling" operation was about to begin.

— — — —

The night was as dark as ink, and snowflakes swirled in the cold wind. Chen Tian tightened his trench coat and, using Uchiha Madara's Sharingan suggestion, quietly blended into Alexei's family's group. Melina and the others had no suspicion of this 'temporary bodyguard'—Uchiha Madara's illusion had taken effect, and after completing the task, he had already been recalled by Chen Tian to the Summoning Space.

"Hurry up!" Melina urged in a low voice, holding a sleeping Yelena in her arms, "U.S. Agents could discover us at any time."

Chen Tian helped stuff the last suitcase into the trunk, taking the opportunity to glance at his watch. 3:17 AM, the time when human alertness is lowest. 2B was originally supposed to be by his side providing cover, but considering the limited space on the plane, he had already recalled her to the Summoning Space, leaving only himself to follow.

As everyone squeezed into the old station wagon, Chen Tian noticed Natasha tightly clutching the doctored doll in her arms—2B had quietly implanted a jammer inside it before leaving. The little girl's sleepy eyes gleamed with an alertness unbefitting her age.

"Three minutes to the airport." Alexei turned the key, and the engine groaned under the strain, "Damn weather…"

The sound of tires crunching over snow was particularly grating on the quiet street. Chen Tian observed the rear through the rearview mirror when suddenly, a faint blue light flashed in Natasha's doll's eyes.

Something's happening.

Sure enough, car lights appeared in the distance behind them. Three black SUVs, like ghosts, burst out from a side road, their red warning lights on the roof tracing bloody trails in the snow.

"Damn it!" Melina spun around abruptly, "How did they find… "

"Hold on!" Alexei floored the accelerator. The station wagon shot forward like a startled Beast.

Chen Tian felt like his internal organs were being thrown to his back. Little Natasha clung desperately to the seat, and the doll slipped from her arms. Chen Tian, quick as a flash, caught it, pressing a hidden spot on the doll's belly—2B's jammer activated.

The pursuing SUVs behind them suddenly slammed on their brakes, their headlights flickering eerily. Taking advantage of this precious 30 seconds of chaos, the station wagon made a sharp turn and sped into the side gate of the private airport.

"Quick! Quick!" Alexei jumped out of the car, waving his arms like a madman. Melina was already rushing towards the Cessna small plane on the tarmac, holding Yelena.

Chen Tian helped carry the last few pieces of luggage, secretly feeling fortunate—Uchiha Madara's illusion was stable enough that Melina didn't even realize there was an extra person in the group who shouldn't have been there.

"Is everyone here?" Alexei shouted from the driver's seat.

Melina quickly counted heads: "Natasha? Yelena? Temporary bodyguard?" She frowned in confusion, but quickly shook her head, "Damn it, let's go!"

The roar of the plane engine made the ground tremble slightly. Chen Tian crouched and squeezed into the cabin, finding that this so-called 'private plane' was practically a sardine can—the four seats were packed, and he could only curl up in the luggage area at the tail.

"Hold on tight!" Alexei yanked the control stick.

A sensation of weightlessness came over him, and the plane violently bounced in the air currents like a leaf. A suitcase crashed at his feet, revealing bundles of fake passports and cash inside.

"We're safe!" Ten minutes later, Alexei let out a long breath, "The flight path is set. Next is a seven-hour flight."

Melina's tense shoulders finally relaxed, and she began to check her two daughters' sleeping positions. The cabin gradually quieted down, with only the hum of the engine and Natasha's steady breathing.

Inside the cabin, Chen Tian was curled up in the luggage area, his gaze falling on the sleeping Natasha and Yelena. The two little girls nestled together, Yelena's small hand still tightly clutching her sister's clothes.

"Master." 2B's voice sounded in the mental link, "Detecting abnormal heart rate fluctuations. Have you encountered a problem?"

Chen Tian gently shook his head, responding with his consciousness: "2B, you said… should we change their fate?"

2B was silent for a moment, "According to my calculations, interfering with history could lead to unpredictable butterfly effects. But…" Her voice, rarely, showed a hint of hesitation, "If Master decides to act, I will assist with all my might."

Chen Tian took a deep breath, his gaze becoming resolute. He quietly pulled a coin from his pocket—Dante had "accidentally" dropped it there, calling it a "lucky coin."

"Heads, save; tails, don't save." He muttered to himself, flicking his thumb.

The coin arced silver in the morning light, and Chen Tian suddenly realized—both sides of this 'lucky coin' were heads! That scoundrel Dante had tampered with it long ago.

"That old swindler…" Chen Tian clutched the coin, laughing and crying at the same time, yet feeling a strange sense of peace.

He gently woke up his companions in the Summoning Space and told everyone his decision.

"Do what you want, child." Vergil's voice carried affection.

"It's about time! Let's make a ruckus! Nephew!" Dante shouted excitedly.

"Master, 2B will always support you." 2B's voice carried pleasure.

"Master, I will make all your enemies die in my Fire Release." Uchiha Madara's voice, though no longer arrogant, still had that tone of pride.

"Ah ah ah, Master, can you let me out this time? The space you left for me is too small!" Lia (Diablo)'s voice was a little aggrieved.

Chen Tian listened to the voices of everyone in the Summoning Space and laughed.

(Golden Finger new function: Can contact characters in the Summoning Space through mental power, avoiding the situation of being disturbed by the Dimension Demon God from happening again.)

The plane flew steadily. Chen Tian looked out and saw an ocean, and the more he looked, the more he felt something was wrong.

He suddenly snapped back to reality, almost wanting to slap himself. He really had been infected by Dante; he had actually forgotten that the place they were escaping to was not Asia or Russia, it was freaking Cuba!

"Ahem, guys, I seem to have misremembered. We are now… in Cuba…" Chen Tian said awkwardly in the Summoning Space.

"….."

"….."

"..."

"So, the meticulously planned smuggling operation… was wrong from the start?" Even Vergil was speechless.

What's wrong with this kid? Was he infected by Dante?

"Never mind!" The current goal is to get little Natasha and little Yelena out of the Red Room!" Chen Tian decided not to care. If it was wrong, it was wrong. At worst, he would just snatch the Red Room's plane when the time came.

He hadn't even thought about whether anyone could fly a plane… or if 2B could?
