Chapter 23 - Chen Tian’s New Abilities and Mark-Eclipse Light Angel

The motorcyclist's corrupted domain continued to expand under his feet, the asphalt track seeming to be swallowed by some invisible force, turning into a pitch-black mire.

The metal railings in the stands twisted and deformed, the plastic seats melted, and even the air began to grow murky, as if also contaminated by the decaying power.

Chen Tian stood still, the smile at the corner of his mouth growing increasingly wild.

His eyes had completely changed—his originally ordinary pupils had transformed into brilliant Azure Sky Eyes, his irises like a liquid starry sky, deep and cold, as if capable of seeing through all laws of the World.

The motorcyclist's movements paused slightly, his dark eyes fixed on Chen Tian, a low growl escaping his throat: "Your eyes... have changed?"

Chen Tian did not answer, but slowly raised his right hand, bending his ring finger and pinky, holding up his thumb and index finger, while his middle finger was bent behind his index finger.

"Domain Expansion—"

Chen Tian's voice became ethereal, as if from the depths of the Universe.

The motorcyclist's instincts screamed in warning, and he abruptly retreated, trying to escape Chen Tian's range, but it was already too late.

"Unlimited Void."

Buzz!

The entire World seemed to have been paused.

The motorcyclist's movements froze; his thoughts, perceptions, and even time itself were infinitely stretched at this moment.

In his vision, Chen Tian's figure disappeared, replaced by an endless White void.

"What is this...?" His consciousness struggled, but his brain felt as if it had been crammed with infinite information; every second was decomposed into countless moments, and every moment had countless chaotic pieces of information flooding into his mind—

"Who am I?"

"Where am I?"

"Why can't I move?"

His soul felt as if it had been thrown to the end of the Universe; all his cognition, memories, and senses were crushed, reassembled, then crushed again, and reassembled again.

His body was clearly still standing in place, but his consciousness had already experienced billions of thought cycles.

Tony's armor thrusters spewed out brilliant White exhaust flames.

He rolled sideways, narrowly dodging Ivan's claws.

The pitch-black demonic armor burned with crimson Hellfire, each swing leaving twisted scorch Marks in the air.

"Jarvis! This bastard's claws are corrosive!" Tony's palm cannon blasted out, but Ivan merely sneered and took the blow head-on.

The Hellfire on the armor's surface instantly devoured the energy Impact, and even the aftershocks of the explosion were twisted into grotesque fireballs.

"Sir, the nanocoating on the armor's outer layer has a wear rate of 47%. I suggest you disengage and wait for core energy to restore—"

"I wish I could!" Tony gritted his teeth, pulling back sharply, but Ivan was faster.

The mechanical bone wings on the demonic armor's back suddenly unfurled, and a thick, sulfurous mist poured out, instantly obscuring Tony's vision.

"Cough—Damn it!" Tony's HUD interface flashed wildly; the armor's sensors were interfered with by the sulfur gas, and his vision was blurred.

He could only barely dodge based on Jarvis's emergency warnings, but Ivan's offensive grew increasingly ferocious; each claw strike carried the searing heat of Hellfire, and the armor's outer shell had already begun to show signs of melting.

Tony's breathing grew heavy inside his faceplate, and sweat trickled down his temples.

He stared at the constantly flashing red damage warnings on his HUD, a savage grin twisting his lips.

"Jarvis! Unlock the Mark-Eclipse energy lock!" Tony bit out, "I'm going to let Ivan know that I was just playing with him!"

"Mark-Eclipse restrictions unlocked, Mark-Eclipse Light Angel module can be activated," Jarvis's voice responded to Tony, adding, "Have a pleasant demon-slaying, Sir."

A wild smile suddenly spread across Tony's lips, and his eyes beneath the faceplate gleamed with excitement.

"Jarvis, what did you just say?" He deliberately drew out his words, as if savoring the drama of the moment, "Pleasant demon-slaying?"

The next second, his laughter abruptly erupted, carrying a hint of madness and arrogance—

"Hahaha! Ivan! Let me show you—what true 'Angel Descent' is!"

As he made his incredibly chuunibyou declaration, the Arc Light Reactor in his chest suddenly burst forth with dazzling blue light!

Buzz—!

A blue energy torrent, like a living entity, surged from the core, instantly covering his entire body!

The original gold and red armor rapidly decomposed and reassembled under the blue light's wash, the nanomaterial flowing like liquid, the armor structure reshaping in the glow!

Click! Click! Click!

Every inch of the armor was evolving—

The originally rounded shoulder pads split open and expanded, transforming into sharp wing-like structures, with blue-White energy blades flowing along their edges!

The chest plate became more elongated, its central energy core enveloped in blue light, like an Angel's stigmata!

The leg armor extended into streamlined propulsion wings, the thrusters on the soles of his feet enlarged, spewing blue flames!

The back armor unfolded, and six massive energy Light Wings spread out like feathered wings, each composed of pure blue energy, with particle effects shimmering along their edges!

Mark-Eclipse Light Angel—Activated!

Tony hovered in mid-air, the brand-new blue, White, and black armor shimmering brilliantly in the Sun, his Light Wings slowly flapping, scattering countless light particles.

The lines of his faceplate became sharper, and the Arc Light screens over his eyes glowed with a deep blue light, as if a true mechanical Angel had descended upon the World!

"Sir, energy output has increased to 400%, Light Angel mode activated," Jarvis continued to suggest, "Based on your combat habits, I recommend playing AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' as background music."

Tony grinned, his eyes beneath the faceplate gleaming with excitement.

"Ha! Jarvis, you really know me!" He abruptly raised his arm, the charging sound of his palm cannon perfectly synchronizing with the electric guitar intro that suddenly exploded in his earphones—

"Then let's get this party—rocking!!!"

The next second, engines full power!

Blue-White exhaust flames erupted with a roar to the furious rhythm of "Thunderstruck," and Tony, like a War God blessed by the God of Rock, plunged towards Ivan with a deafening wave of sound.

Wherever he passed, the sonic boom of tearing air and the soaring chorus mingled into one, and the entire battlefield instantly became his show!

Boom!!!

Blue-White exhaust flames carved dazzling light trails in the air, and Tony's speed suddenly exploded, almost turning into an afterimage!

Ivan's demonic armor had not yet had time to react when Iron Man's fist slammed heavily into his faceplate!

Crack!

The demonic armor's helmet instantly caved in, the Hellfire scattered by the violent Impact, and Ivan was blasted hundreds of meters away, slamming heavily into the ruins of the spectator stands!

"Awesome!" Tony laughed wildly, his six Light Wings on his back suddenly unfurling, blue-White energy particles scattering like stardust.

His hands, at some point, had grasped two blazing laser swords—their blades composed of pure high-energy plasma, their edges shimmering with dazzling blue light, even the air was scorched into distorted ripples!

"Sir, combat data synchronization complete," Jarvis's voice remained clear amidst the roar of the rock music, "Your reaction speed has increased by 427%, power output by 398%, energy weapon efficiency—"

"Cut the chatter, Jarvis!" Tony plunged down, his laser swords trailing two brilliant blue lights behind him, "Now it's—Execution Time!"

Ivan had just climbed out of the ruins, his Hell energy not yet re-coalesced, when Tony's figure flashed before him!

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The laser swords transformed into a deadly net of light, and Ivan's demonic armor was instantly slashed with dozens of cracks!

Hellfire surged wildly, attempting to repair the damage, but Tony's attack frequency was too fast—each sword strike precisely cleaved at the armor's joints, energy nodes, and even the Hellfire's flow paths!

"Roar—!!!" Ivan roared in Fury, his mechanical bone wings on his back suddenly unfurling, a sulfurous mist erupting like a tsunami!

But this time—Tony didn't even dodge!

"Purification Protocol Initiated!"

The six Light Wings suddenly burst forth with dazzling blue light, energy particles sweeping like a storm, and the sulfur mist was instantly vaporized upon contact!

Tony's figure broke through the mist, his laser swords cutting down in a cross—

Slice!

Ivan's right arm, along with half of his mechanical bone wing, was severed at the root!

The pitch-black demonic metal melted under the high temperature, and Hellfire roared like a wounded Beast, retreating!

"What? Giving up already?" Tony's wild laughter echoed across the battlefield, and he suddenly delivered a spinning kick, his armored boot slamming heavily into Ivan's chest!

Bang—!!!

The demonic armor's chest plate shattered, and Ivan flew backward like a cannonball, crashing through three concrete walls before finally stopping!

Tony hovered in mid-air, his Light Wings spread, his laser swords angled towards the ground.

His eyes beneath the faceplate locked onto Ivan, the blue light as cold and majestic as a God's.

"One last strike, Ivan," His voice came through the roar of the rock music, "Welcome to—the Heaven's Punishment of Science!"

The six Light Wings suddenly retracted, all energy converging towards the core in his chest!

Tony crossed his two swords before his chest, the plasma light surging to its maximum—

"Supernova—Slash!!!"

A blue-White energy torrent, over ten meters in diameter, erupted with a roar!

Wherever it passed, the ground cracked, the air ionized, and even space itself seemed to be cleaved open by this single sword strike!

Ivan's pupils contracted sharply, Hellfire surging frantically, attempting to defend—

Boom!!!!

The light of the explosion swallowed everything!

Tony hovered in the afterglow of the explosion, his six Light Wings slowly unfurling, blue-White energy particles swirling around him like stardust.

The flames of the explosion formed a magnificent curtain of Fire behind him, yet could not approach him in the slightest—all incoming Impact and high temperatures were elegantly deflected by the energy barrier formed by his Light Wings.

"Sir, target life signs have disappeared," Jarvis's voice sounded at the opportune moment, "Would you like me to pull up the combat data?"

Tony did not answer immediately.

He slowly raised his right hand, the plasma blade of the laser sword gracefully spinning once, drawing a perfect blue Arc Light in the air before automatically retracting into his arm guard.

The movement was fluid, like a deadly waltz.

"Data?" Tony chuckled softly, his faceplate automatically retracting to reveal his signature cynical smile, "That kind of thing is for the laboratory."

He deliberately let the explosion's firelight reflect off the side of his face, ensuring the angle was photogenic enough.

The Light Wings on his back suddenly spread to their maximum, each one bursting with dazzling blue light.

Tony deliberately slowed his descent, allowing the armor to trace a graceful parabola as it slowly landed.

The moment he touched down, he bent one knee slightly, supporting himself with his right hand on the ground, a pose that perfectly positioned the last Light Wing to unfurl above his head, creating the effect of a perfect Angelic halo.

"Jarvis," Tony stood up, casually dusting off non-existent dust, "clip the combat footage from 3 minutes 27 seconds to 3 minutes 35 seconds, and send it to all my social media accounts. For the caption, write..." He paused, a mischievous grin playing on his lips, "'Sunday afternoon tea, and saving the World in passing.'"

Six Arc Light wings elegantly folded behind him, transforming into streams of light that retracted into the armor. Tony turned and walked towards the exit, deliberately letting the remaining sparks dance behind him. With each step, the armor's blue glow diminished, and by the time he reached the passage, the armor had returned to its normal gold and red mode—as if the destructive Angel form had never existed.

"Oh, right," he suddenly stopped, snapping his fingers without looking back, "turn up the BGM volume by 30% so the whole World can hear it—"

As his words fell, the guitar solo of "Thunderstruck" suddenly reverberated throughout the ruins, a perfect ending soundtrack.

However, as Tony Stark's good friend, there was no way he would let him continue showing off like that.

Just as Tony struck his perfect curtain call pose, a blue-violet light beam suddenly shot up from the other end of the arena!

The light was like lightning tearing through the sky, yet it carried a strange sense of tranquility. The light beam was over ten meters in diameter, with countless tiny runes flowing within it, and the space at its edges appeared unnaturally distorted.

"My hair?!" Tony's faceplate instantly reclosed, and energy alerts flashed wildly on the HUD interface. "Jarvis! What kind of energy reading is this?!"

"Unable to parse, Sir." Jarvis had a 0.3-second delay. "Energy form is outside the database scope. Recommend immediate evacuation."

The light beam lasted for a full three seconds before gradually dissipating. When the dazzling light faded, the scene of the arena was horrifying—the asphalt track was still covered with black, corrupted Marks, the twisted metal railings and melted plastic seats remained in their eroded state, and the decaying smell in the air still lingered.

The evil-smelling motorcyclist, along with his heavy motorcycle, had vanished without a trace, as if he had never existed.

Tony stood rooted to the spot, his mouth under the faceplate wide enough to fit a donut. He mechanically turned his head towards Chen Tian's direction, only to see the Eastern youth, who usually loved to bicker with him, slowly walking over.

"Yo, done showing off?" Chen Tian's Heaven's Eye had returned to its normal dark brown. "I helped you deal with that zombie-like guy, you're welcome."

Tony's faceplate clicked open, revealing an incredulous expression: "That guy was clearly looking for you! And! What was that black technology just now?!"

"This, huh..." Chen Tian rubbed his chin, thinking, "My new ability." After saying that, he even raised an eyebrow at Tony.

Chen Tian didn't wait for Tony to speak, reaching out to poke Tony's shoulder: "Hey, show-off, look around."

He gestured with his chin, "Do you want to keep waiting here for those annoying security forces to ask questions, or should we quickly find a place to eat?" He rubbed his stomach, "I'm starving."

Tony stared at Chen Tian for a full five seconds, then suddenly burst out laughing: "Jarvis! Cancel all social media upload plans!" He threw an arm around Chen Tian's neck, "Let's go! I'm going to get you drunk and then extract all the secrets of that move!"

Chen Tian grinned, looking at Tony, his eyes sparkling with mischief: "Brother, drinking with you is no problem, but..."

He deliberately dragged out his words, leaning in with a wicked smile, "Remember that party at your Villa after the New Mexico battle a while ago? A certain playboy, a great genius, cried while hugging Pepper after getting drunk."

He held up four fingers and wiggled them in front of Tony's eyes: "Now my alcohol tolerance is four times what it was then, unlike a certain genius inventor who had to rely on Jarvis to call an ambulance in the end." He then exaggeratedly made a vomiting gesture, imitating Tony's drunken state at the time.

With that, Chen Tian jumped onto Tony's back, patting his helmet a few times, "Let's go! Iron Man steed! Back to the hotel!"

Tony pouted, the expression under his faceplate a mix of helplessness and indulgence: "You guy..." He deliberately let the thrusters blast a wave of hot air, messing up Chen Tian's hair, "Hold on tight, if you fall, I won't pick you up."

With a roar of engines, the armor, now restored to gold and red, shot into the sky. Tony deliberately did a 360-degree flip, and after hearing Chen Tian's strange cries from his back, he smugly curved his lips: "Jarvis, open navigation, destination—"

"The location of the Kimpton Hotel has been marked for you, Sir." Jarvis interjected at the right time, "Do you need to pre-order your usual truffle pizza and..."

"Double!" Tony interrupted, deliberately making a sharp turn in the air, "And prepare ten of the strongest tequilas for this 'Sir Knight'—let's see if he can still be so arrogant later!"

The gold and red armor cut through the clear blue sky, trailing a brilliant plume of exhaust in the dazzling midday Sun.

Tony suddenly swooped down, the armor almost skimming the sea surface, the waves stirred up by the thrusters refracting diamond-like light in the Sun.

"Hey! You're absolutely doing this on purpose!" Chen Tian clung tightly to Tony's neck, his voice torn and fragmented by the rushing air.

"Does that even need saying?" Tony laughed and accelerated again, the armor drawing a long White wake on the sea surface, "Welcome to the Stark Air Express!"

Their laughing and cursing were exceptionally clear in the clear blue sky. On the track, the red and blue police lights were still conspicuous in the midday Sun, like a swarm of busy beetles.

And the gold and red armor high in the sky, like a comet streaking across the heavens, sped towards the hotel with the roar of its engines.

The sea breeze, laden with salty air, blew in their faces, and the sunlight plated the armor's surface with a flowing golden edge. In the distance, on the yachts in Monaco Bay, tourists raised their phones, recording this rare sight—Iron Man carrying his good brother, soaring freely in the azure sky.

— — — —

The morning Sun of the next day spilled onto the Malibu coastline, and Tony's private jet slowly landed on the Villa's helipad. Tony and Chen Tian walked down the gangway arm in arm, both still showing signs of a hangover, but still bantering with each other.

"I bet you threw up three times last night," Tony rubbed his temples, his eyes narrowed to slits behind his gold-rimmed sunglasses, "Jarvis recorded it all."

Chen Tian rolled his eyes: "Oh, come on, who was singing 'Hotel California' while hugging the toilet?" He deliberately imitated Tony's raspy voice, "Welcome to the Hotel California~"

Pepper, walking behind them, shook her head helplessly, while 2B quietly followed beside her. Happy trudged along at the very end, dragging several suitcases and panting.

"Gentlemen," Pepper raised her voice, "your energy is—"

Her words stopped abruptly. Tony and Chen Tian had already pushed open the Villa's glass door, and their playful noises suddenly froze in the air.

In front of the living room's French windows, a tall, black figure stood silently. The person wore a high-necked sweater underneath and a leather black windbreaker over it, his gleaming bald head reflecting the morning light, hands clasped behind his back, like a statue.

Tony's sunglasses slipped to the tip of his nose: "My hair—"

Chen Tian saw Nick Fury's iconic posing, and slapped his forehead directly: "Again?" He muttered, "This bald guy has to strike this pose every time he appears. What's so good to see outside the window anyway?"

Fury slowly turned, his single eye scanning the two of them, finally settling on Tony: "Mr. Stark." His voice was low, "Do you know how much trouble you two caused in Monaco?"

Tony raised an eyebrow, pushing his sunglasses back into place: "Oh? What trouble?" He shrugged casually, "We were clearly saving the World—and adding some excitement to the F1 Grand Prix."

"Excitement?" Fury's single eye narrowed dangerously, "You destroyed half the track, causing the race to be canceled, and the Monaco government is putting pressure on the United States." He took a step forward, "Not to mention the terrified spectators and—"

"Wait," Tony suddenly interrupted him, turning to Chen Tian, "Who is this guy? Do you know him?"

Chen Tian rolled his eyes: "Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he's the one who approved my cooperation with S.H.I.E.L.D. to go to New Mexico, and he's also the most show-off bald man in the World." He deliberately raised his voice, "By the way, he can hear you."

Nick Fury's single eye twitched slightly. He expressionlessly pulled out a tablet, quickly swiped his finger across it a few times, then turned the screen towards the two of them.

"While you were busy 'saving the World'," Fury's voice was laced with suppressed anger, "this 1.2 billion U.S. dollar KH-13 spy satellite was destroyed by some unknown energy pulse."

The screen displayed the satellite's last transmitted image—a blue-violet light beam shooting straight into the sky, followed by a burst of static.

Tony leaned closer to the screen, his eyes wide behind his gold-rimmed sunglasses: "Wow, the image quality is so clear... Wait, isn't that Chen Tian's big move?" He suddenly turned to Chen Tian, "You blasted the U.S. Military's satellite?!"

Chen Tian scratched his head, looking innocent: "Well... I was aiming for that motorcycle zombie guy at the time, who knew there was a peeper in the sky?" He glanced at Fury, "Besides, isn't destroying a satellite that secretly photographs other people's privacy a way of eliminating a public menace?"

Fury's single eye narrowed dangerously: "Eliminating a public menace?" He said through gritted teeth, "That satellite was responsible for monitoring one-third of the World's missile silos! Now those old guys at the Pentagon are jumping up and down!"

Tony suddenly burst out laughing: "Wait, you mean..." He tried hard to suppress his laughter, "Chen Tian, with a casual skill, instantly took out the U.S. Military's most advanced spy satellite?" He turned to Chen Tian, giving him a thumbs up, "Well done!"

"Stark!" Fury's voice became a tenor, "This is no joke! The President already—"

"What about the President?" Chen Tian interrupted him lazily, "Does he want me to pay compensation?" He slowly pulled out a crumpled checkbook from Tony's pocket, "1.2 billion, right? I'll write it to you now."

Fury's expression froze. Tony, meanwhile, collapsed onto the sofa, laughing: "Hahaha... Chen Tian, you're amazing... Hahaha..."

Then his smile suddenly stiffened, and he snatched the checkbook from Chen Tian's hand: "Damn it! That's my check!"
