Chapter 143 - A Friend of a Friend Is Not My Friend

"It can actually revive?"

In Konoha's training grounds, Rock Lee was sparring with a burly blond man from another ninja village.

On the viewing platform, Uchiha Sasuke stared at the resurrected Deep Blue and sank into thought.

After so many days of chatting in the group, he had learned from the other members that the current admin had taken the position after killing the previous one—he just hadn't expected the man to also have a method of resurrection.

That made Sasuke feel even more confident about taking revenge.

Meanwhile in Marvel's world, because all the items Bai Ye stored in the Void Space had been destroyed, he casually rewarded a shopkeeper with ten years worth of inner power as payment for clothing.

Under the shopkeeper's shocked, almost reverent gaze, Bai Ye raised his right hand—still holding the Suspended Ring—and lightly waved it.A spatial passage to the White House opened.

On the other side of the portal, Bai Ye saw a slightly disheveled Tony Stark facing off against Kingpin.

"You told me earlier everything was going great, didn't you?" Bai Ye said with a smile, looking at Stark's messy hair and frustrated expression.

"How was I supposed to know the people down there were that stupid? I already listed out every detail of the plan, step by step, and they still managed to screw things up."

Seeing Bai Ye arrive, Stark immediately began venting:"Especially him! Can Kingpin please stop stuffing his underlings—who I'm not even sure graduated middle school—into government positions? They force out the competent people, and spend work hours loitering in nightclubs and bars!"

"They've followed me for so many years," Kingpin argued, "Even if they have no achievements, they've worked hard. Now that I've risen to the top, I have to bring them up with me. What, should I let them stay gangsters forever?"

"Then just give them money! Why occupy important positions? With their level of education they can't even understand the documents I send them!" Stark roared back.

"And your little underlings—barely promoted and they're already taking bribes. Their behavior is crossing the line."Stark looked at Bai Ye, clearly wanting to see how he would handle it.

"Why are you looking at me? What does this have to do with me? I already said—I only play around, I don't manage things."

Bai Ye picked up an apple from the table, took a bite, and said casually:"I don't even know your little underlings. If they annoy you, just kill them and replace them with obedient ones."

He hadn't expected Bai Ye to be so direct. Stark, who had been furious a moment ago, suddenly hesitated."…Isn't that a bit much?"

"Mr. Bai."Hearing Bai Ye say that, Kingpin panicked and rushed to plead:"They've followed me for so long—I'll discipline them immediately."

"I told you already, you handle your own problems. If you're unhappy, you could always kill Stark's entire family."

"After all, I don't know your families or your subordinates. I only take responsibility for people I personally know. As long as you two don't start fighting and give me a headache, I don't care."

Bai Ye spoke with complete indifference—after all, a friend's friend was not his friend.

Otherwise, if you follow Stanley Milgram's six degrees of separation theory, anyone can be connected to anyone else in the world through seven people. If he had to consider every indirect connection…Wouldn't that mean the entire world was his friend?

Then in the future, if he walked down the street and felt like blowing someone to pieces, would he have to ask for their household registration first to make sure he didn't know anyone related to them?

He had no intention of taking responsibility for that many people. He barely had any friends to begin with.

Hearing this, now it was Stark's turn to be stunned.

He glanced at Kingpin and repeated,"You are to immediately restrain your men. No more crimes. None of them are short on money—if they want thrills, they can pay for something legal on their own. Just don't interfere with my planetary governance."

Ignoring the two men's bickering, Bai Ye instructed:"My old phone is gone. Remember to get me a brand new one, perfectly replicated—same number, same contacts, everything."

"No problem," Kingpin agreed immediately. Then he added:"Mr. Bai, although you've already taken control of this planet, up to now we still haven't held a grand celebration in your honor."

"So, Rodriguez and I discussed it—we want to hold an official celebration ten days from now, to congratulate this planet on the honor of being ruled by you."

"A celebration?"Bai Ye looked at Kingpin's deeply bowed, humble posture, thought for a moment, and said:

"Sure, I'll attend. But cut out all the tedious ceremonial stuff. Just put on some energetic performances—I don't want anything too complicated."

"As you command," Kingpin said respectfully, his flattering expression making Stark secretly curl his lip.

"By the way, where's Rodriguez?" Bai Ye asked, noticing only two people present.

"The President is running around preparing something. He wants to give you a surprise," Kingpin said with a smile.

"Really? Then I'll look forward to it," Bai Ye nodded.

At this moment, Stark spoke again:"I don't want to ruin the mood, but even though you've taken over most regions, a small number of people are still resisting your rule. They don't acknowledge your legitimacy."

"That's something you should deal with. Send troops and wipe them out quickly."

"If I have to personally handle every little thing, then what do I need you two for? That's enough, I'm going out to have some fun."

As Bai Ye finished, he vanished in a burst of displaced air.

At the same time, in a vast desert full of swirling yellow sand, an unconscious figure lay half-buried in a dune, slowly opening his eyes.

The unconscious man was Thor, who had been banished by Odin.Once his mind cleared, he immediately panicked and shouted at the sky:

"Father! Heimdall! I know you can hear me—open the bridge and send me back!"

He kept shouting at the sky, but it remained completely silent.Ten minutes later, he finally gave up, slumping onto the sand as he accepted the reality of being abandoned.

Bang bang bang!

Suddenly, from the distant dunes came a series of gunshots—growing closer and closer.

Thor looked up to see a large group of armed men engaged in a fierce firefight.People were falling one after another, blood turning the sand bright red.

A few minutes later, one side overwhelmed the other, wiping out the dozens of enemy fighters. Then they noticed Thor standing there watching the whole time. They pointed their guns at him.

"Who are you? Are you with them?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about. Rebels? And what realm is this? Alfheim? Nornheim?" Thor asked seriously.

"This is Mexico. We're the uprising army resisting the White Devil," said the man who seemed to be the captain.

Seeing Thor's large build and rather dim expression, he asked,"Who are you, and how did you get here?"

"I am Thor, God of Thunder, banished to the mortal realm by my father through the Bifrost."When Thor finished, the men all looked at him as though he were mentally ill.
