"So… you don't know how he got in here?" Evren asked Indigo, who nodded stiffly, her eyes scanning the scene as Willow yanked the mask off the man Navian had dropped to the floor.
"I was only gone for a few minutes," Indigo said, tightening her grip on her scythe, still streaked with the intruder's blood.
"You don't recognize him?" Willow asked, stepping closer. Indigo walked toward the body, her gaze sharp and curious, but then she shook her head.
"No… I don't."
"Well, he isn't a student here," Navian muttered, kicking the body aside with ease. "He's a grown man, and he came here to assassinate you and anyone with you." He glanced at Willow, whose concern for Indigo was evident.
"I'm so sorry this happened to you," Willow said softly.
Indigo shrugged with a faint, ironic smile. "He almost beheaded you, not me. I think I owe you the apology."
Evren knelt and inspected the body, muttering under his breath. "He really bypassed every security system in Nexus… that's meticulous."
