The voice that came through wasn't Stella's. It was deep, stern, and painfully familiar.
"Eve, come home now."
Her heart tightened. That voice… she hadn't heard it since she blocked his number: her father, William Walters.
Her knuckles turned white around the phone.
"William Walters!? You—"
"We need to talk, or your sister will be the one who receives my wrath!" William Walters said sharply.
For a moment, she couldn't speak. Her heart thundered in her chest as anger and shock collided like a storm.
How dare he use Stella's phone?
"Why did you use Stella's phone to call me?"
There was silence on the other end, only the faint sound of his breathing.
"You've sunk so low, Mr. Walters!" she expresses her annoyance.
"I won't say this twice! Come here now... your sister might get hurt otherwise!"
Before Evelyn could say another word, he hung up the call.
Evelyn's hands were shaking slightly, too angry to hear William Walters threaten her.
