Chapter 7 - 7: The Graduation

Shit, is he gonna expose me?

Q's face goes bleak. Beads of sweat are visible on his forehead. As his eyes dart at that Beta, he can't hide his nervousness anymore. He jumps from the chair, only to find himself slumped on the floor.

"Agh!"

"Q!" Both Rei and Tish shriek, causing the Beta personnel who greeted the dark vibe Beta just now to run towards them

While fighting the pain, Q can only look at that male Beta as he walks away from there.

"I am sorry, I know I should follow the system, but the thing comes so suddenly. We're feeling helpless now," Mei apologizes as she and Principal Star walk out of the office.

"It's fine, Lady Sarin. And, I am so sorry that I can't help much," Principal Star expressed her guilt.

"Don't say that, Ma'am! Having someone to listen to my vent is more than enough," Mei replies, grabbing Principal Star's hand and bringing them closer to her.

"I hope, you'll find the light at the end of the road. Wishing you nothing but the best, M'lady."

Mei nods and smiles, showcasing her demure features. As they talk, Mei notices a person is waiting for her.

"Oh, here you are! Did you have a great time in here, Cir?"

The male nods politely as his gaze shifts to Principal Star. "Your students are great. Not to mention, very hospitality."

"This is Cirrus, my nephew. He's a Beta, but a talented one!"

Cirrus bows politely. He sticks out his hand for a shake. "Nice to meet you. I'm Cirrus Sarin."

"The pleasure is mine..." Principal Star replies. "What a gentleman you are!"

"He is, indeed! That's why I love to ask for his company whenever I go. Plus, I can save up, flight tickets are expensive nowadays!" Mei grins happily.

"Oh, did you guys—?"

"Yes. We fly on a private jet. Cirrus is the pilot. My husband had some work, so he couldn't tag along."

"Lady Sarin is too generous. Don't listen to her. I can fly a plane but not as good as Lord Sarin. He's indeed a great pilot!"

Mei smiles, her cheek blushes. She loves hearing compliments about her husband, they are something to be proud of.

"I guess, it's time to go, Lady Sarin. The school time will be over soon," says Cirrus.

"Oh, don't forget tomorrow, Lady Sarin! We'll be delighted if you can join us for The Graduation," Principal Star reminds Mei.

Cirrus glares at his aunt. The lady, as usual, portrays a smile like a fairy. Sweet, lighting, polite, poise, and delicate.

All of the Omega traits; check.

"Ah, I don't know, ma'am. We actually have to go back by tomorrow—"

"We will make it, Principal Star. Don't worry. I'm the pilot, I can always reschedule," Cirrus gives out his promise. He turns his head, piercing his sharp gaze at Mei. Gradually, the older person grasps the signal.

They both take their leave after, strolling along the silent corridor. Both have so many things in mind, but they would rather keep them first.

"You need to call home and inform them about the delay, Cir. Things are not good back home," Mei reminds him. Her pure delicate face turns bitter. No more sweet smile coming from her.

"I did. Alpha Kawei is probably on his way here. He will be joining us tomorrow, but I told him to stay at the accommodation," Cirrus replies softly. "Let us handle everything by ourselves."

Mei nods. She glares around, watching the thick, stone wall along the corridor. It brings back memories for her. Suddenly, she feels like 18 again.

As soon as they arrive at the foyer, a white Maserati is waiting. Cirrus opens the door for Mei, before he enters the vehicle. The car slowly leaves the academy for accommodation in the city.

From his hiding, Q watches as the car leaves with a whir in his heart. He saw them coming out of Principal Star's office. Now, he feels the pressure.

I gotta see War!

"Welcome to our 100th Graduation ceremony! To all graduates, congratulations and all the best for your future!"

The announcement serenades the whole academy. Everyone gathers in the main hall, waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Today is a busy day for Q, even if he is not among the graduates, he has to help these two hopeless Omegas; Rei and Tish, to get ready and shoot some motivation. The two just met their respective Alphas this morning. Rei seems to be calm because she knows the Alpha, and Tish looks a bit excited to see her masterchef Alpha for the first time. But, still, these two can't hide their nervousness.

"I look fat in this..." Tish whines.

"It's all your illusion, silly! You just tried it this morning and it fits!" Q sighs.

"Ah! My brows! My brows!" Rei whimpers. Q shifts his seat, checking on her. The right eyebrow is not aligned with the left one. Q wants to laugh, but he chooses to be generous and calls the makeup artist to fix it for Rei.

The preparation continues as everyone slowly leaves the fitting room, one by one. Tish and Rei hug Q, bid the male Omega goodbye before they join the crowd as well.

Q sits on his chair alone. He checks on his leg; they have already gotten rid of the cast. The pain is there, though it's just faint.

He logs in to the Ou Academy website to watch the live stream, cheering for his friends. The ceremony is simple but meaningful as this is the beginning of a real deal. Thinking about it makes Q's heart ache. He has no clue what's waiting for him next year. If he manages to get a good Alpha family, he is more than grateful. The memories of him and Mr. Sky slowly fade these days.

I think, it's time to grow up...

As the ceremony comes to end, Q rises up from his chair slowly. He packs his bag and ready to meet Rei and Tish, but somehow, he has a goosebump. A dark presence makes him feels eerie out of the blue.

He turns around, looking at the Beta who is standing in front of the fitting room. "We meet again, little cub..." he says.

Q unconsciously drops his bag. His feet feels heavy. He tries to run, but he can't even lifts his toes at all! As the Beta approaches him, he feels his dark aura, surrounding the male. The Beta lifts up his hand, shoving his index and middle finger onto Q's forehead and smirks.

"Lock.on."
