Chapter 316: Money Bag Delivered to Your Door
Uchiha Izumi said.
"Okay."
Naruto actually wanted to finish this game before eating, but he was too hungry, so he directly turned off his phone.
"Wow, what kind of dish is this? It smells so good!"
Naruto looked at the dish on the table and said in surprise.
A moment later, a burst of laughter came from the next table.
Naruto was originally burying his head in his food, but he was attracted by the laughter and looked up, realizing that the next table seemed to have a new group of people.
"Hahaha, today was truly satisfying! Do you know what I found in the troll's nest today when I was hunting it?"
Troll?
Naruto caught that word.
He had just been asking the uncle about trolls.
He didn't expect someone at the next table to be talking about trolls.
He immediately pricked up his ears.
"Many treasures?"
"Wrong! Guess again."
"A treasure?"
"Still wrong."
Naruto glanced over. The person speaking was burly, a bit rough, wearing a low-cut vest that revealed the black-haired burly man's chest.
The delicious food in his mouth almost lost its appeal.
Naruto, who took a deep breath, seemed to have thought of something. He nudged Sasuke, telling him to look at the next table.
"What is it?"
Sasuke curiously turned his head to look and almost spat out the food in his mouth.
How could this guy be so ugly?
Sasuke turned back and glared at Naruto for making him look at something so unappealing.
Naruto lowered his head, trying to suppress his laughter, but he got carried away. The food in his mouth didn't go down, and he choked. His small face turned crimson, and he vigorously patted his chest with his small fists.
Sitting on Naruto's other side was Uchiha Izumi. She thoughtfully handed Naruto a glass of juice.
Naruto quickly gulped down the entire glass.
After the food stuck in his throat went down, Naruto finally felt that the whole world was smooth again. He leaned back in his chair and let out a long sigh of relief.
Sasuke scoffed, his expression clearly saying, Serves you right.
"Stop being a damn riddler! Tell us what you actually found!"
The conversation at the next table continued.
Naruto pricked up his ears again.
"Naruto, do you want more juice?"
Uchiha Izumi asked, but Naruto didn't reply. Uchiha Izumi turned to look at him and saw him leaning back in his chair, looking shifty, as if he was eavesdropping on what the next table was saying.
"Sister Izumi, don't mind him. Just eat your own meal."
Sasuke said.
Uchiha Izumi said "Okay" but didn't stop her hands, still pouring Naruto a glass of juice.
Her own glass of juice hadn't been drunk and was clean. Worried that Naruto might want more, she poured it into Naruto's glass first.
"It'll scare you when I tell you! I found a wild elf!"
The black-haired burly man said, winking. He seemed to be thinking of a certain scene and licked his thick lips. "Tsk tsk, that taste, you can't even imagine."
The faces of the people sitting opposite him changed, and one person lowered their voice, seemingly afraid of being overheard.
But Naruto was sharp-eared and sharp-eyed, and sitting so close, he heard everything clearly.
"Are you crazy? Aren't you afraid of the elves retaliating against you?"
The black-haired burly man looked nonchalant. "Afraid of what!" He sneered. "This place is so remote, how could any elves come here?"
His words seemed to dispel his companions' concerns. After exchanging glances, they all showed ambiguous smiles.
"Where's your elf? Can we have a taste? Good things are meant to be shared."
"She's locked up at my house."
The black-haired burly man chuckled. "You want to be with her? Sure, ten gold coins for one time!"
"Are you crazy? Ten gold coins? Why don't you just rob us?"
"Exactly, your elf might have been tormented by the troll into who knows what state, and you still want ten gold coins? I think you're crazy for money."
"Exactly, exactly, trolls are so big, which elf can withstand that?"
Seeing all three of them refute, the black-haired burly man seemed to think of something and coughed.
"Haha, I'm just kidding with you guys. We're all good brothers, how could I possibly charge you ten gold coins? How about I give you a discount! A 10% discount, I'll charge you one gold coin."
"No, it's still too expensive."
"Too expensive, too expensive."
"Cheaper."
The three of them said it was expensive in unison.
The black-haired burly man's eyes darted around. He asked, "Then you tell me, how much should I give?"
The three exchanged glances, and one slowly said, "I think, ten copper coins."
The black-haired burly man was enraged. "Ten copper coins? Are you trying to give me beggar's alms! Impossible!"
Another person chuckled and said, "Hey, ten copper coins is too exaggerated. She's an elf after all. How about one silver coin!"
The black-haired burly man's expression softened slightly.
The last person agreed, "One silver coin sounds good to me. There must be something wrong with your elf, right? Otherwise, you wouldn't give in so quickly."
Naruto, who still didn't understand the dynamics between men and women, listened to the whole conversation, feeling confused and not quite understanding.
He quietly asked Sasuke next to him, "Sasuke, what's an elf?"
Sasuke was sitting next to Naruto, so he naturally heard the entire conversation from the next table.
He said, "How would I know? I'm not from around here. If you ask me, who should I ask?"
Naruto asked again, "Then what do they mean by 'ten gold coins to be with an elf once'?"
Sasuke also shook his head, looking a bit bewildered.
Mikoto hadn't yet imparted this kind of knowledge to the two children; after all, they were only seven years old.
Seeing that he couldn't get anything from Sasuke, Naruto looked at Uchiha Izumi, who was eating next to him, and then simply got up and walked two steps to the next table, asking innocently,
"Uncles, what did you mean just now by 'ten gold coins to be with an elf once'? I don't understand."
Sasuke covered his face. "This idiot."
The black-haired burly man saw Naruto suddenly approach, and his brows furrowed fiercely.
"Where did this brat come from? Get lost!"
He was used to being arrogant and mistakenly thought Naruto was just some commoner child. He pushed his hand, intending to send Naruto tumbling.
But the speed of his push was seen by Naruto, who easily dodged the dark, large hand with a slight twist.
"Hey, Uncle, if you don't want to talk, then don't. Why resort to violence?"
Naruto put his hands on his hips and said somewhat displeased.
Uchiha Fugaku and the others also cast their gazes over.
His heart stirred; it seemed he didn't even need to go to the Adventurer's Guild for a quest—someone had delivered himself to their doorstep.
"Brat, I think you want to die."
The black-haired burly man's gaze was gloomy. This brat didn't run and even dared to provoke him.
Didn't he know the consequences of provoking an Adventurer?
Today, he would teach him what the consequences were like.
The black-haired burly man stood up, looking at Naruto with a sinister expression. A thick, tree-trunk-like arm reached out towards Naruto, seemingly intending to capture him first.
In his opinion, the brat dodging him just now was merely luck; he hadn't been very serious while sitting in his chair.
Since the brat wanted a beating, he would satisfy him.
