"why do I involve myself in things that are none of my business" Sirius scowled as his reached the hill that would soon be hanakos resting place. He knew this part of the story well. Her death is the point where nova could never receive redemption. He was blamed for her death and the village feared him more than ever. That lack of trust caused them to ignore Nova's warnings during the holy knights exams, causing the death of thousands.
"Like I care what happens those fools" he muttered to himself "still, I don't want that bubbly idiot to suffer. Not after all he fought for-"
"You certainly enjoy talking to yourself" he jumped at the sound of a girls voice next to him. His eyes landed on Selene's amused smile "my you're quite jumpy, aren't you Sirius" she poked his cheek.
"Enough" he slapped her hand away with blush.
"There's no need to be embarrassed" she stood, leaning to the side with a knowing smile "judging from what I picked up you believe something bad will happen here. Something involving nova"
"It's none of your business" he turned his back to her.
"Oh don't be like that" she rested her chin on his shoulder, an action that caused his face to heat up "two heads are better than one and plus I like nova. Let me help"
He paused before speaking "what if I told you that in a few hours a classmate of ours would die here and nova would be blamed for it? What would you say then?"
He expected to be told he was insane or for her to completely dismiss him but instead she smiled "I'd say you're a mad genius"
"Huh?" He looked up in surprise.
She strolled up to the tower that stood on the hill, the first building ever built in the kingdom. It was a historical monument. She touched it gently, her eyes scanned the building "hmm" her eyes landed on some black beetles "have you ever seen bugs like this before Sirius?"
"No" Sirius stood up and followed her. They were an odd breed- he stopped. His eyes caught a faint pulsing red light "Selene watch out!" He tackled her out of the way as the tower exploded.
"That was close" he sat up slowly after shielding Selene. His body ached but he was mostly alright "are you alright?"
"Yes thanks to you superhero" she smiled bashfully.
"Very impressive" a voice rang out from the dust covering the area. The voice was young but they couldn't see them clearly "I was ordered to kill the hakuta princess but I suppose the prince of the Astor family will have to do"
