Chapter 441: "I Will Make A Move!"
That colorful light was none other than the Bifrost Bridge.
At the other end of the Golden Palace, at the entrance of the Bifrost Bridge, Heimdall used his greatsword to activate the transmission of the Bifrost Bridge.
The light came suddenly and left just as suddenly; before the spear could pierce Thor's throat, Thor's body was swept away by the Bifrost Bridge and disappeared into the colorful light.
Hela's spear pierced the air.
She raised her head and looked at the ceiling of the Golden Palace.
There was a contracting colorful halo there, the brief trace left behind after the Bifrost Bridge departed.
Her green eyes extended along the light trail of the Bifrost Bridge, seeing the other end of the Universe.
That blue, tiny, and inconspicuous Planet.
Earth.
"Run, little brother." Hela said, her voice echoing in the empty hall of the Golden Palace.
"Run to Earth to find your helpers. I will go. Once I rule Asgard, once I gather my army, I will go to Earth to find you. By then, no one can save you."
She turned around and walked toward the throne.
Odin's throne was shattered, battered beyond recognition by Thor's impact.
She looked at those fragments, looking at those golden fragments carved with heroic epics, the corners of her mouth slightly raised into a cruel smile.
"I will build a new throne." She said. "Bigger, more magnificent than Odin's, and more suited to me."
She sat on the wreckage of the throne, her green eyes looking at the entrance of the Golden Palace, looking at that land outside shining in the starlight.
Asgard.
She was back.
The light of the Bifrost Bridge exploded in the desert of New Mexico.
Thor tumbled out of the beam of light, rolling more than ten meters on the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.
His body was embedded in the sand, limbs sprawled out like a starfish washed ashore.
Golden blood seeped from the corners of his mouth and the cracks of his armor, dripping onto the sandy ground and making a sizzling sound.
The blood of the god burned small depressions into the mortal sand.
His eyes were half-closed, his breathing rapid and chaotic, and every rise and fall of the ribs in his chest brought a piercing pain.
The fragments of Mjolnir were still held in his right hand, that largest fragment bearing the runes carved by his father.
The faint light of the runes had almost completely extinguished, leaving only a faint, illusory dark golden pulsation, like a heart's last beat before stopping.
He pressed the fragment against his chest, feeling the residual warmth, feeling that energy pulsation like an old friend that he had lost.
The hammer was gone.
Father was dead.
Asgard had fallen.
He lay in the desert, looking at the unfamiliar sky above him with only stars, the moon, and occasionally drifting clouds.
The Milky Way spanned across the horizon, like a river formed by countless points of light.
At one end of the Milky Way, in a place he could not see, Asgard was groaning under Hela's iron hoofs.
He closed his eyes.
"Loki..." He whispered, his voice so hoarse it was almost inaudible.
He did not know if Loki was still alive.
At the very moment he was teleported away, he saw Lokistruggling to stand up from beneath the wall of the Golden Palace, holding another dagger in his hand.
He opened his eyes and struggled to sit up from the sandy ground.
Every muscle in his body protested, and every broken bone punished his recklessness with pain.
But his will was stronger than his body; he was Thor, Thor, the King of Asgard, and he could not lie in the desert like a loser waiting to die.
He still had one thing to do, one person he could turn to for help.
Loren Morgan.
He stood up from the sand, swaying unsteadily like a dead tree about to be snapped by the wind.
He used that tattered longsword as a cane, supporting his body and walking step by step toward the east.
He knew Loren was at Morgan Manor in New York, and he knew it was thousands of kilometers from New Mexico to New York.
He knew that walking this distance in his current state would take months or even longer.
But he would still walk it.
Because he was Thor, he never gave up.
He took three steps and then stopped.
Because in front of him, in the desert, a figure was walking out of the starlight.
Gray eyes, dark shirt and trousers, no cloak, no armor, no trace of any weapons.
His steps were very light, so light that his feet made no sound when stepping on the sand, like a leaf falling from a tree, like a drop of rain falling on the Water.
His gray eyes glowed faintly in the darkness, not reflecting starlight, but glowing by themselves, like a distant lighthouse, like bioluminescent insects in the deep sea.
Loren Morgan.
Thor looked at him, his blue eyes filled with complex emotions.
Relief, confusion, gratitude, and a trace of unvanquished vigilance.
The latter was not aimed at Loren, but an instinctive reaction of having just escaped from a near-death battle.
"How did you know I was here?" Thor asked, his voice hoarse.
"Felt you coming." Loren said, his voice calm, as if speaking of a very simple matter.
"The energy of the Bifrost Bridge is very special; it has traveled through the Universe countless times, but opening it in the desert will still leave traces."
Loren's gaze moved from Thor's face to his chest.
There, the armor had cracked open with a large gap, exposing the bruised skin underneath and the continuously bleeding wound.
His gaze moved to Thor's right hand, seeing that fragment of Mjolnir, seeing those runes that had completely extinguished.
"Your hammer is shattered."
"Shattered by someone who claimed to be my sister." There was a hint of bitterness in Thor's voice.
"She said her name is Hela, Odin's first child, the rightful heir of Asgard."
Loren's gray eyes narrowed slightly.
"Hela, the Goddess of Death, Odin's executioner." He paused for a moment.
"I know her; her power comes from Asgard itself. The longer she stays in Asgard, the stronger her power gets. You cannot beat her!"
Thor listened to these words he had never heard before, his blue eyes filled with confusion.
"You know her this well?"
Loren looked at him, something flashing in his gray eyes.
"Yes, just this well!" Loren nodded.
Thor looked into his eyes for a long time.
Then he nodded, his movement very slow and difficult, like a stone rolling down a hillside, finally finding a place to rest.
"Asgard's army is no match for her; I need your power." Thor said, the hoarseness in his voice lessening a bit, replaced by more of an exhaustion.
Loren did not answer immediately.
He looked at Thor, looking at the wounds on his body, looking at the fragments of the hammer in his hand, looking at the stubbornness burning in his blue eyes that would not extinguish even in a desperate situation.
"I once promised your father that when Asgard faces crisis, I will make a move, and I keep my word!" Loren said.
Chapter 442: Bring Hela Back Alive For Me!
In the study of Morgan Manor, Thor was sitting in an armchair, and the wounds on his body had been simply treated by Loren's servant.
The golden bloodstains had solidified into a dark golden crust on his armor, and his broken ribs were barely fixed under the servant's bandaging.
But his breathing was still heavy, and every inhalation felt like swallowing broken glass.
His left hand held the last fragment of Mjolnir, the runes had completely gone out, leaving only a piece of cold uru metal, like a dead heart.
Loren stood by the window, with his back to Thor, his gray eyes looking at the moonlit lawn outside the window.
His hair fluttered slightly in the night breeze, and his fingers gently tapped on the windowsill, with a slow and steady rhythm.
He didn't speak, he was waiting for Thor to finish speaking.
Thor had already said a lot.
About Hela, about her power, about how she crushed Mjolnir with one hand, about how she easily defeated him and Loki.
His voice, from its initial hoarseness and trembling, gradually became calm and steady.
Not because the fear had disappeared, but because he had already accepted the reality.
His sister had come back, Asgard had fallen, and he couldn't beat her.
"My father once said something to me." Thor looked at the fragments of the hammer in his hand, his voice very low, as if talking to a nonexistent person.
"When I first picked up Mjolnir, he said: 'This hammer will help you focus your power, but remember, power comes from yourself, not from the hammer.' I thought I understood, but until the moment the hammer shattered, I truly understood the meaning of this sentence; turns out I never understood it at all."
Loren turned around and looked at him.
"Your father was a smart man."
"He was." Thor raised his head, his blue eyes looking at Loren.
"He was also a person who made preparations in advance. Before he passed away, he came to you. Did he tell you something I didn't know?"
Loren's brow twitched slightly, and he didn't deny it.
Instead, he walked over to the desk and took out a silver scroll wrapped in an energy field from the drawer.
The surface of the scroll was engraved with ancient runes of Asgard, glowing with a faint golden light under the illumination of the energy field.
He placed the scroll on the desk, his fingers gently tracing over the runes, the energy field dissipated, and the scroll automatically unfolded.
Thor looked at the contents on the scroll, his blue eyes widening slightly.
That was his father's handwriting, he recognized it—those ancient and elegant strokes, every single one of them like the edge of a sword.
Thor read out the text on the scroll: "Loren Morgan, when you see this letter, I am probably already dead.
Death is the destiny of the Allfather, and I do not mourn for myself.
But I mourn for my daughter, Hela.
She is my firstborn, my sharpest sword, and also my deepest scar.
Her ambition consumed her, and I had no choice but to seal her away. But the seal would eventually break one day.
When that day comes, Asgard will face catastrophe.
I beg you, for the sake of the agreement between us, to help my son Thor and stop Hela."
He finished reading the last line of words and remained silent for a long time.
"The agreement between you two—what agreement do you and my father have?"
Thor raised his head, his blue eyes filled with confusion.
Loren rolled up the scroll again, sealed it with an energy field, and put it back into the drawer.
"Have you ever heard of Ragnarok?" Loren looked at Thorindifferently and asked.
"I've heard of it, and this is also something my father has always been worried about, but what does this matter have to do with the agreement between you and my father?"
"It has everything to do with it. Back then, your father handed over all the treasures of Asgard to me on a silver platter, and the purpose was precisely because of this prophecy.
He wanted me to help you Asgard safely get through this terrifying prophecy; that is the agreement between us."
"So this terrifying prophecy of Ragnarok is related to my sister Hela?"
As if thinking of something, Thor looked at Loren with disbelief on his face.
Loren did not deny it, but nodded silently.
"Although Hela is not the direct person who causes the prophecy to become reality, she is indeed an indirect promoter, and this prophecy is indeed related to her appearance."
"Then what should we do now? I cannot just watch Asgardperish in her hands. Can she be sealed again?" Thor said with full of worry.
Loren turned around and faced the window again.
"Your father knew long ago that Hela would return. Not maybe, not possibly, but definitely.
He said that when he dies, the seal will loosen, and Helawill struggle to break free from the seal and descend upon the World again!
But he didn't ask me to seal Hela again, because your father knew he owed Hela too much.
She is his daughter, his warrior, his Shadow, and your only blood-related elder sister in this World."
He sealed her away for thousands of years, but he never hated her. He didn't want her to die; he just hoped she could reflect on herself."
Thor looked at Loren's back, looking at his slender and steady fingers placed on the windowsill.
He recalled the words his father said, looking into his eyes, during the last few days of his life on the coast of Norway.
In those words, there was love for him, and apologies for Loki, but no mention of Hela.
It wasn't that he forgot; it was that he dared not mention it.
Because once mentioned, the guilt and pain sealed deep in memory would surge out like a flood, drowning everything.
"What do you plan to do?" Thor asked.
Loren turned around and looked at Thor.
"Capture her alive."
Thor's eyes widened a little bit.
"Capture alive? Hela? Do you know how strong her power is? She is almost invincible on the land of Asgard."
"To you she is invincible, to me, she is not."
Loren interrupted him, his tone calm, without any arrogance, simply stating a fact.
Thor closed his mouth.
He had no reason to refute.
The person in front of him killed Thanos, who possessed the six Infinity Stones, and destroyed the Infinity Stonesthemselves.
Hela was strong, but no matter how strong she was, she couldn't be stronger than the six Infinity Stones.
If Loren said he could do it, then he could do it.
"Tifa, have 2B and Wanda come to the study." Lorenturned his head and said to Tifa beside him.
"Okay, Master!" Tifa nodded and went out the door.
A few minutes later, the door was pushed open.
The first to walk in was a Silver-haired woman wearing a black dress.
Her facial features were as exquisite as porcelain, but her expression was as cold as stagnant water.
Her eyes were covered by a black blindfold, and her pupils could not be seen.
But anyone could feel the blade-like sharp aura emanating from her body.
Her pace was very light, so light that almost no footsteps could be heard; the person coming was none other than Miss 2B.
The second to walk in was Wanda, her dark brown long hair hanging over her shoulders, her eyes flashing with a faint but extremely dangerous red light.
She wore a simple red coat and black trousers, without any decorations on her fingers.
But her fingertips were glowing slightly, which was the residual energy of Chaos Magic.
"Master, are you looking for us?" Miss 2B asked.
"Yes, there is something I need you to handle. Go to Asgardand bring Hela back alive."
Chapter 443: 2B vs Hela
Thor looked at the two women, his blue eyes filled with confusion.
He didn't know 2B, but he knew Wanda.
He had seen her on Earth and knew her power.
But relying on just the two of them to fight Hela?
His brow furrowed.
"Two people? Hela single-handedly defeated the entire Asgardian army, crushed my hammer, and easily defeated me and Loki, and you're sending two people to capture her alive?"
Loren nodded calmly. "Two people executing the mission can chat along the way; otherwise, even two people feels like too many to me."
"..." Thor.
"Just a mere Hela, nothing to worry about!" 2B said with a hint of disdain.
Her expression didn't change at all, but her right hand was already resting on the hilt of her katana.
That wasn't tension; it was preparation.
She completed initialization the moment she received the mission orders, and her body had already entered combat status.
The red light in Wanda's eyes brightened slightly.
"Capture alive?" Wanda asked, her voice low, carrying a lazy sense of danger. "Not kill?"
"Don't kill her. Keeping her alive will be more useful."
The corners of Wanda's mouth curved slightly into a ruthless arc.
"As you wish, I will bring her back alive."
Loren nodded, extended his right hand, and drew a circle in the air with his fingertip.
A silvery-white light flowed from his fingertip, condensing in the air into a spinning halo.
It wasn't the colorful hue of the Bifrost Bridge, but a silvery-white color like moonlight.
The halo gradually expanded, revealing a starry sky at its center. Right in the middle of the starry sky was a golden Planet shining amidst the stars.
Asgard.
2B was the first to walk into the halo.
Her black dress fluttered in the silvery-white light, and the scabbard of the Miao blade gently brushed against her belt, making a faint metallic sound.
Her steps carried no hesitation, no doubt, like someone walking down a street they were familiar with.
Wanda followed behind, her dark brown long hair turning dark red in the light—a reflection of Chaos Magic.
Her eyes had completely turned deep red, and Chaos Magic surged within her body, flowing along her blood vessels and gathering at her fingertips into visible red energy.
The two figures disappeared into the halo.
The halo contracted, turning into a speck of light before disappearing completely.
Thor sat in the armchair, looking at the air that had returned to normal, his fingers gripping the hammer fragments tightening slightly.
"Are they enough?" he asked.
Loren did not reply. He walked to the window and looked out at the moonlight again.
"We'll wait and see."
The hall of the Golden Palace was completely unrecognizable.
The murals depicting Asgard's history were smeared and tampered with by Hela using black energy. The images of Odin and Thor were erased, replaced by her own.
A scene of her riding a giant wolf and leading the army of the dead to conquer the Nine Realms.
The golden pillars were eroded by black, vine-like energy, and their surfaces were covered with cobweb-like cracks.
Scattered across the ground were shattered golden stone slabs, collapsed statues, and the bodies of those who had once been Asgard's most elite warriors.
Hela stood in the center of the hall, facing the gates of the Golden Palace.
She had been waiting for some time. When the space portal opened before her, she showed no surprise, no tension, and didn't even move an inch from her lazy standing posture.
Her right hand hung at her side, her left hand on her hip, her green eyes watching the two figures step out from the halo.
The first wore a black dress, white hair, and carried a long sword.
The second wore a red coat, dark hair, and had red energy burning on both hands.
Hela looked at them, the corners of her mouth curving slightly into a ruthless arc.
"The helpers Thor found are you two? Two little girls?"
2B didn't answer. Her blade had already left its scabbard the moment Hela uttered her first word, reflecting a chilling silvery-white luster in the golden light of the Golden Palace.
Her body leaned slightly forward, center of gravity forward, left foot forward and right foot back, the tip of the blade pointing at the ground. This was her combat posture—concise and lethal.
Wanda stood slightly behind and to the side of 2B, her hands open, red Chaos Magic spinning in her palms like two churning red nebulae.
Her eyes had completely turned deep red, and her pupils reflected Hela's figure.
"We're not helpers; we're here to capture you alive," Wanda said, her voice calm, but the red light around her body grew denser and denser.
Hela's laughter echoed through the hall of the Golden Palace, low and hoarse, like the sound of a rusted iron door blown by the wind.
"Capture me alive?"
She walked down the steps of the throne's wreckage with a leisurely pace, like a lioness patrolling her territory.
Black energy flowed around her body, and her battle suit bulged slightly in the energy field.
The horned crown on her head cast distorted, branch-like shadows in the golden light.
"Asgard is my land. Here, my power is infinite."
"Your magic, your swords, your courage—here, they are nothing."
She extended her right hand with her fingers spread wide.
Black energy gushed from her palms, condensing into a dozen black, spear-like spikes that floated around her body, their tips pointing at 2B and Wanda.
"Kneel and submit to me, and perhaps I can grant you a quick death."
2B's answer was a slash.
Her body left an afterimage in place, while her true self had already appeared less than two meters in front of Hela.
The Miao blade swung upward from below, its blade tracing a silvery-white arc in the air, the end of the arc pointing straight at Hela's throat.
The speed of this slash exceeded the speed of sound, and the shock wave generated by the blade cutting through the air exploded in the hall of the Golden Palace like a short, sharp scream.
Hela's green eyes narrowed slightly. This was the first time her expression changed in front of these two little girls.
It wasn't out of fear, but out of surprise.
Her surprise wasn't because of how fast the slash was, but because of its precision.
The target of the blade wasn't her throat, but the crown above her throat.
The position where the horned crown was worn.
If this slash succeeded, her horned crown would be split down the middle, but her body wouldn't be injured.
Capture alive.
She silently repeated the word in her heart.
They weren't here to kill her; they were here to capture her alive.
Hela's fingers clenched, and a dozen black spears shot out simultaneously—not targeting 2B's body, but her advancing path.
Anticipating her trajectory and blocking her space.
The black spears embedded themselves into the floor of the Golden Palace, forming a cage that trapped 2B in the middle.
2B didn't slow down.
Her body flipped in mid-air, her right foot stepping on the shaft of a black spear, bouncing off the momentum to leap out from the top of the cage.
The Miao blade rotated 180 degrees in her hands, changing the blade from facing upward to facing downward.
She plummeted from the air like a diving eagle, the tip of her blade piercing straight at Hela's crown.
Chapter 444 2B vs. Hela - Part 2
Hela took a step back.
This was the first time she retreated in this battle.
It was not because of fear, but because she needed to re-evaluate this opponent.
The woman in the black dress was not an ordinary warrior.
Her speed, strength, and combat skills all exceeded her expectations.
Every one of her movements was accurate to the millimeter, and every judgment was as perfect as if it had been calculated by a computer.
2B's blade tip struck the spot where Hela had just been standing, piercing through the floor.
The golden stone slabs were cut open like tofu under her blade, and the blade sank into the ground all the way to the hilt.
2B did not pull out the blade; she drew a short blade from behind her waist and swung it towards Hela's neck the moment it was pulled out.
Hela blocked with her right arm, and the edge of the short blade cut into the skin of her forearm.
What came out of the wound was not blood, but energy, surging out and rolling in the air like thick smoke.
Hela lowered her head to look at her wound, watching the black energy surging from the wound, and then raised her head to look at 2B.
"You hurt me." Hela said, the hoarseness in her voice reduced a little, replaced by a strange tone that was close to appreciation.
"No one has been able to hurt me for a long time."
2B did not answer. Her short blade made a half-turn on Hela's forearm, trying to widen the wound.
At the same time, her right foot kicked towards Hela's knee, wanting to make Hela kneel down.
Hela did not kneel.
Her left hand grabbed 2B's right ankle, black energy surging from her fingertips and wrapping around 2B's lower leg.
The energy was contracting, trying to freeze her joints.
At that instant, 2B's body felt immense pressure—not her bones bearing the pressure, but her joints.
Hela's strength was trying to snap her leg off at the knee.
2B's gaze did not change at all. She let go of the hilt of the short blade and leaned her body backward.
Supporting herself on the ground with both hands, she kicked towards Hela's head with the foot that was not grabbed.
Hela tilted her head to dodge that kick, but 2B's supporting hand pushed hard against the ground.
Her whole body flipped upward, and the grabbed leg twisted hard in the opposite direction during the flip.
Her knee joints emitted a harsh friction sound—not a fracture, but the resonance produced by the Vibraniumalloy skeleton under huge torque.
Her leg broke free from Hela's grip, but the nano-Vibranium artificial skin on her lower leg was torn apart by Hela's black energy.
Hela looked at the skeleton, her green eyes widening slightly.
"You are not human."
2B did not speak. She stood three meters in front of Hela, her posture unchanged.
The Miao blade was still stuck in the floor, and the short blade was still by Hela's feet.
She had no weapons in her hands anymore, but she still had her body, her fists, and her feet.
Hela looked at her, the smile at the corners of her mouth changing.
No longer a cold, cruel smile, but a more complex one mixed with curiosity and a sort of excitement.
"You are a robot. Who sent you? Thor? No, Thor does not have this technology. Is it that Earthling? Loren Morgan?"
2B still did not answer. Her body crouched slightly, her hands clenched into fists, her center of gravity forward.
Because Hela held the geographical advantage, in Asgard, she was practically immortal.
No matter how much damage she sustained, she could recover in an instant.
Therefore, relying solely on the power of blades could not defeat Hela; the only way to defeat her was to accumulate damage through continuous high-intensity attacks or find her weakness.
Right at this moment, Wanda moved from the side.
Red Chaos Magic surged out of her palms, transforming into two red chains that simultaneously wrapped around Hela's arms from both left and right sides.
The chains began to contract the moment they touched Hela's skin, making a sizzling sound.
Hela lowered her head to look at the chains, watching them pull her arms apart to the sides of her body, trying to stretch her body into an X shape.
"Chaos Magic," Hela said, looking at Wanda with great surprise in her green eyes.
Wanda did not answer. Her hands clenched into fists, and the red chains tightened abruptly, completely locking Hela's arms to the sides of her body.
"2B, now!" Wanda shouted.
2B moved.
Her body left a residual image on the ground, shooting toward Hela like an arrow released from a bowstring.
Her right hand clenched into a fist, the surface of which was wrapped in a layer of crimson flames—that was precisely the Eternal Flame fused within her body.
The target of the fist was not Hela's face, nor Hela's chest, but the horned crown atop her head.
She had noticed it.
Hela's power came from Asgard, but the horned crown on her head was an amplifier of her power.
Just like Mjolnir was to Thor, shattering the horned crown would weaken her power.
2B's Eternal Flame struck the horned crown, and a loud explosion burst within the hall of the Golden Palace.
Hela's body slid back several meters, her feet leaving two deep gullies on the floor.
Her head was slightly lowered, and her long black hair hung down to cover her face.
The horned crown on her head, that crown made of twisted metal and bone, developed a tiny crack.
Hela raised her head.
In her green eyes, there was no anger, no pain, only a cold, abyss-like calmness that made one's hair stand on end.
"You almost succeeded, almost."
Her body shook violently, and black energy burst out from her body, shattering Wanda's red chains into pieces.
Wanda was pushed away by the Impact, rolling a few times on the ground, crashing into a golden pillar, with blood overflowing from the corner of her mouth.
Hela extended her right hand, and the black energy condensed into a spear in her palm.
Not the tentative, tiny long thorns from before.
But a true spear, two people tall, with black electric arcs flowing across its surface.
The spear tip pointed at 2B, and the electric arcs on the spear shaft burst in the air, making crackling sounds.
"You are strong." Hela said to 2B.
"Stronger than any warrior I have ever seen, but do you think your mechanical body is stronger, or am I stronger?"
2B did not answer. A wisp of Eternal Flame condensed in her hand.
"Let's find out." 2B said.
Hela's spear thrust forward.
It did not thrust in a straight line, but left three afterimages in the air.
Three spears thrust simultaneously from different directions toward 2B's head, heart, and abdomen.
This was her power warping space itself; it was not an illusion, but three possibilities existing simultaneously.
2B did not try to distinguish which was real and which was fake.
The moment she saw the three afterimages, she gave her answer—all of them were real.
Hela's spear split into three during the thrust, each having a physical body, and each capable of causing real damage.
2B's body made an incredible movement the moment before the spear pierced her.
Her waist bent backward by ninety degrees, and her entire body leaned backward like a fully drawn bow.
The three afterimages swept past above her body, and the black energy on the spear tips scorched her skin, leaving three charred marks on her face and chest.
Chapter 445: Take Me to See That Earthling
Taking advantage of the momentum, she rolled backward, springing up from the ground with her dual blades spread wide on either side of her body like a pair of silver wings.
Hela's spear did not stop.
She pursued 2B the moment the latter rolled backward, smashing her spear down from above—not a thrust, but a slash.
The shaft of the spear, carrying black energy, smashed toward the top of 2B's head. If it hit, her head would be smashed to pieces.
2B did not dodge; she crossed her dual blades above her head, blocking the spear shaft.
The black energy and her Eternal Flame burst into a circular Impact in the hall of the Golden Palace, blowing away all the scattered debris on the ground.
2B's feet sank into the ground, the flagstones shattering beneath her feet, and her knees bent slightly, but she did not fall.
She raised her head, looking at Hela's face from above her crossed dual blades.
Hela's face was very close to hers, featuring green eyes, pale skin, and deep red lips.
2B pushed her dual blades forward, Hela's body leaned back slightly, and the spear was pushed away.
2B pulled her feet out from the cracks in the ground, her dual blades dancing as she launched three simultaneous attacks at Hela's neck, armpits, and knees.
Hela blocked two of them with her spear, but for the third—the blade aimed at her knee—she was a tenth of a second too slow.
The tip of the short blade pierced the side of her knee, and black energy gushed out from the wound, splashing onto 2B's hands, as hot as molten lava.
Hela gritted her teeth.
She didn't cry out, she didn't shout, she just gritted her teeth.
She stepped back two steps.
2B did not give her a chance to breathe.
She pursued like a black whirlwind, her dual blades drawing silver-white arcs one after another in the air.
Every slash precisely struck the joints where Hela's defense was weakest: wrists, elbows, shoulders, knees, ankles.
The density of her attacks constantly increased, from three strikes per second to five strikes per second, and from five strikes per second to eight strikes per second.
Her blade speed had already surpassed the speed of sound, and the shockwaves of the blades cutting through the air intertwined in the hall of the Golden Palace into a harsh sonata resembling thousands of birds screaming simultaneously.
Hela's spear was blocking, but her blocking speed couldn't keep up with 2B's attack speed.
She blocked with her arms, with her shoulders, with her palms.
New wounds continuously appeared on her body, and black energy gushed out from the wounds, rolling around her body like thick smoke.
Countless gasps were cut into her battle attire, a few strands of her long hair were severed by the blade edges, and the cracks on her crown were expanding.
But she did not fall.
She was still smiling.
"Your attacks are fast, accurate, and vicious."
Hela said. Amidst the gaps in her blocking, her voice came out from between 2B's blade edges.
"But you cannot kill me, because in Asgard, as long as my will does not perish, my body will not die."
2B did not reply; her blades became even faster.
Wanda stood up from behind a pillar.
There was blood at the corner of her mouth, and her body was numbed by the Impact, but her will was stronger than her body.
She watched 2B and Hela fighting, and the red Chaos Magic recondensed in her palms.
She wasn't watching their battle; she was watching Hela's defense.
Hela's arms, shoulders, and spear were blocking 2B's blade edges, but her back was empty.
No block, no defense, nothing could stop an attack launched from behind.
Wanda's eyes turned completely red.
Chaos Magic gushed out from her palms—not chains, not energy beams.
But a more covert and lethal attack; she directly attacked Hela's reality.
She wasn't attacking her body, but her connection to Asgard.
If she could interrupt the energy link between Hela and Asgard, Hela's infinite regeneration ability would disappear.
The red magic seeped into the ground beneath Hela's feet, extending downward along the gaps between the golden flagstones, infiltrating downwards.
She could feel Asgard's energy flowing deep within the strata; that was Hela's source.
Wanda's Chaos Magic began to erode those energy channels—not destroying them, but temporarily blocking them.
Just like blocking a water pipe with mud and sand.
Hela's body paused for a split second.
She felt it.
Her power was weakened at that moment—not vanished, but diminished.
Her regeneration speed changed from instant healing to taking a few seconds, and her power output changed from infinite to finite.
Her green eyes looked toward Wanda's direction.
"You!" Anger appeared in Hela's voice for the first time.
2B seized that exact moment.
Her dual blades swung out simultaneously, not slashing at Hela's joints, but crossing to slash at her chest.
The blade edges carved two deep cuts on Hela's battle attire, and black energy gushed out from the cuts like a breached flood.
Hela's body fell backward, but she did not fall to the ground; she propped her body up with her spear, kneeling on one knee on the floor.
Her head drooped, and her long hair hung down to cover her face.
The cracks on the crown had spread across the entire crown surface like a spiderweb.
"You..." Hela's voice came out from behind her long hair, hoarse and deep.
But it still carried that unquestionable dignity belonging to the Goddess of Death.
"Not bad."
2B stood in front of her, her dual blades hanging at the sides of her body, her expression still unchanged, extremely cold and indifferent.
"Come with me, my Master wants to see you."
Hela raised her head.
Green eyes looked at 2B through the gaps in her long hair, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly into an arc.
Not mockery, not anger.
But a strange, complex, and contradictory expression that seemed like conceding defeat yet not entirely conceding defeat.
"Loren Morgan, that Earthling who killed Thanos."
"Yes," 2B said.
Hela was silent for a moment.
Her gaze shifted from 2B to Wanda, from Wanda to the zenith of the Golden Palace, and from the zenith of the Golden Palace to those murals that she had smeared and tampered with.
Her gaze lingered for a long time on those murals depicting herself.
She let go of the spear, and the moment it left her palm, it turned into black energy and dissipated.
She stood up from the ground, patted the dust off her battle attire, and tucked the long hair hanging in front of her behind her ears with her fingers.
Her movements were calm and elegant, like a queen tidying her appearance rather than a newly defeated captive.
2B sheathed her dual blades back into the scabbards at her waist, and the short blades were also put away at her waist.
She walked up to Hela with a pair of silver handcuffs.
Not ordinary handcuffs, but ones made by Loren using energy suppression materials stripped from super biological weapon technology.
Locking Hela's hands.
The moment the handcuffs closed, they emitted a faint blue light, and Hela's black energy was suppressed the instant it was activated, like a basin of Water extinguishing a flame.
Hela lowered her head to look at the silver handcuffs on her hands, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly.
"What if I don't want to go with you?"
2B looked into her eyes, her silver-white pupils devoid of any emotion.
"Then we will carry you away."
Hela smiled, this time a real smile, neither mocking nor cold.
"Interesting, take me to see that Earthling."
Chapter 446: Giving You a Chance to Prove Yourself
Chapter 446
In the Underground Room's laboratory of Morgan Manor, the lights were blindingly bright.
Hela was brought to the center of the laboratory, silver handcuffs locked around her wrists, reflecting a cold light under the white lights.
Her green eyes scanned this unfamiliar space—the complex equipment flashing with data and images, the detectors and culture dishes she couldn't understand, and the energy cores exuding a faint glow.
Her battle suit had sustained multiple damages in the previous battle, but under her own will, the cracks in the battle suit were slowly self-repairing, and the black energy emitted a faint, breathing-like light during the repair process.
2B stood on her left side, with a Miao blade at her waist, arms crossed, and her silver-white pupils constantly locked onto Hela's every move.
Wanda stood on her right side, red Chaos Magic dancing at her fingertips, ready at a moment's notice to suppress any resistance from Hela.
Alice stood at the door of the laboratory, her consciousness already connected to the energy field of the entire manor; as long as Hela made any unusual moves, she could turn the entire laboratory into a cage within a second.
No. 18 was not there; she didn't like the Underground Room, preferring to look at the stars on the terrace. Tifaand Nymph were upstairs in the kitchen continuing to bake the second batch of cookies, because Nymph had already finished eating the first batch.
Loren walked in from the other end of the laboratory.
He wasn't wearing any combat gear, just a dark shirt and trousers. His black hair cast a soft sheen under the white light, and his gray eyes were as calm as two pieces of frosted glass.
He walked up to Hela, stopping less than two meters away, and looked at her.
Hela looked back at him as well.
Green eyes met gray eyes.
"You must be Loren Morgan?"
Hela said, her voice low and hoarse, yet carrying an innate, unquestionable majesty.
Even handcuffed and standing on someone else's turf, she still exuded an aura that people dared not underestimate—the demeanor of a millennium-long conqueror, the lingering might of the Goddess of Death who once made the Nine Realms tremble.
"I am," Loren said.
"You sent people to bring me to this gloomy Underground Room; what do you want from me?"
Loren looked at her, the corners of his mouth twitching slightly.
"Simple. You."
Hela's brow furrowed slightly.
"Your power is strong, your combat experience is rich, and your leadership skills are outstanding."
"You were imprisoned in the cracks of the underworld for thousands of years, but your will has not been worn down, your power has not faded, and your ambition has not been extinguished. I need someone like that."
Hela was silent for a moment.
Then she laughed.
A cold laugh, like the wind in winter.
"You want me to work for you?"
"Not for me, but for us."
"What's the difference?"
Loren didn't answer the question. He took out a small silver device from his pocket and pressed the button. The handcuffs on Hela's wrists emitted a beep, a blue light flashed twice, and then they unlocked.
The handcuffs slid off Hela's wrists, falling to the floor with a crisp metallic sound.
Hela lowered her head, looked at her free hands, and then raised her head to look at Loren.
"Aren't you afraid I'll kill you right now?"
"You can try."
Hela's green eyes narrowed. She moved her wrists, and black energy gushed out from her fingertips, condensing around her body into an increasingly powerful energy field.
She could feel that her power had recovered—not one hundred percent, but within a few short seconds after the handcuffs were unlocked, her power was rebounding at an astonishing speed.
The cracks on her battle suit completely healed, her long hair fluttered in the energy field, and the crack on her horned crown—the one made by 2B—was also slowly healing.
"You don't know who you're talking to," Hela said, the hoarseness in her voice gone, replaced by a texture like echoes coming from the abyss.
"I am Hela, Goddess of Death, Odin's first child, and the rightful heir of Asgard. I once conquered the Nine Realms, killed countless deities, and trampled the entire Universeunderfoot."
"And yet you, an Earthling, a creature of flesh and blood, a mortal who has lived for less than a hundred years, want me to work for you?"
Black energy exploded from her body, and an Impactspread in all directions.
2B's hand pressed onto the Miao blade, Wanda's Chaos Magic ignited in her palm, and the gemstone between Alice's brows lit up with dazzling blue light.
Although the Mind Stone was crushed by Loren.
Yet Loren had endowed Alice with power no less than that of the Mind Stone.
Seeing that her subordinates all looked ready to make a move, Loren raised his hand instead.
"Alright, nobody make a move!" Loren said.
He looked at Hela, the calmness in his gray eyes remaining unchanged.
"You were sealed for a thousand years, defeated less than a day after coming out, locked up, and brought to a stranger's territory. You feel humiliated, angry, and unfairly treated. I can understand you."
"You don't understand," Hela's voice became sharp.
"You know nothing. You don't know what it feels like to be betrayed by your own father, nor what it feels like to spend a thousand years alone in the dark."
"You don't know what it feels like to watch your heritage inherited by an idiot holding a hammer. You don't understand. You cannot understand."
"..."
"When did I become an idiot?" Thor said.
Ignoring Thor aside, Loren looked at her and nodded calmly.
"Perhaps I can give you a chance to prove yourself."
Hela's eyes narrowed.
"I will open a different dimension. There, your power will not be subject to any restrictions, without Asgard's bonus nor Earth's suppression."
"There, you can attack me using all your power, all your abilities, and all your weapons."
"If you can hurt me, even if it's just touching my skin, I will let you go back to Asgard, let you reclaim your throne, and let you do everything you want to do."
"But if you can't..." He paused for a moment.
"Then you will have to stay and work for me."
Hela looked at him for a long time.
"Aren't you afraid I'll tear your different dimension to pieces?"
"You can try."
Hela's hands clenched into fists.
Black energy condensed on her fists, growing thicker and thicker, turning from black to deep purple, and from deep purple into a singularity almost like a non-reflective black hole.
The temperature of the energy singularity exceeded that of a stellar core the moment it formed, and the air was filled with ozone and a more pungent smell like evaporated metal.
"Deal," Hela said.
Loren smiled and extended his right hand, spreading his five fingers.
A silver-white light flowed from his fingertips, forming a rotating halo in the air—the same halo as when he sent 2B and Wanda to Asgard, but larger and brighter.
Chapter 447: This is impossible!!!
The center of the halo was not the starry sky, nor any known location, but a void without any matter and energy.
There was no color, no temperature, no distinction of up, down, left, or right in the void, only a dizzying sense of emptiness like standing at the edge of an abyss and looking down.
Loren stepped into the halo.
Hela did not hesitate; she followed behind Loren and walked into that void.
When her feet stepped into the void, she felt something hard.
It was not the ground, but space itself compressed into a solid.
She could walk, run, and jump, but there was nothing beneath her feet, only a supporting force existing at the level of space itself that she had never experienced before.
She looked around.
The void was infinite, with no boundaries, no up and down, and no reference points.
Only she and Loren, two people, stood face to face in a pure white nothingness.
"Where is this place?" Hela asked.
"An alternate space created by me." Loren said.
"Not in any dimension, not in any timeline, not in any known Universe.
Only my will can maintain its existence. Here, there are no rules, no restrictions, no laws, only my will."
Hela's green eyes lit up.
"No rules?"
"None."
Hela smiled.
This time, the smile was not cold, nor mocking, but a genuine excitement from the bottom of her heart for the upcoming battle.
Her body began to change amidst the laughter, not because of transformation, but because she could finally release without reservation the power she had accumulated in the underworld for over a thousand years.
Her battle suit was dissolved, recast, dissolved again, and recast again in the black energy, turning into a harder new form with dark red light patterns flowing on the surface.
Her long hair fluttered in the energy field, changing from black to dark purple, and from dark purple to an almost transparent silver-purple like energy itself.
Her horned crown was completely repaired, taller, sharper, and fiercer than before, with black electric arcs leaping on the tips.
In her hands, two weapons made of pure energy appeared.
Not spears, not swords, but two curved black blades like a scorpion's tail.
There were barbs at the ends of the blades, and black energy was dripping from the barbs, corroding the spatial structure in the void like venom.
"A thousand years of accumulation." Hela said, her voice no longer hoarse, but a bright voice like metal colliding.
"A thousand years of anger, a thousand years of hatred, a thousand years of waiting. All condensed into this single strike. Are you sure you can withstand it?"
Loren stood in place, his hands hanging naturally at his sides, his posture no different from when he was drinking tea in the study.
"Come on." He said.
Hela moved.
Her body just flashed in the void and appeared behind Loren.
It was not teleportation; an afterimage was left where she had just stood, and her true body had bypassed to Loren's back at a speed exceeding the limit of vision.
Two black blades slashed down simultaneously, one hacking towards Loren's neck and one hacking towards his waist.
The blades hit Loren.
"No!"
It was the blades hitting the invisible energy field around Loren's body.
The tips of the blades stopped less than a millimeter from Loren's skin, like crashing into an infinitely thick wall.
Black energy surged from the blades, trying to erode that energy field, but the energy field remained motionless, like a piece of metal that would not be corroded by anything.
Hela's eyes widened for a split second.
She withdrew her blades, took a few steps back, and then rushed up again.
This time her attacks were faster, denser, and more variable. The two blades rotated, flew, and attacked alternately in her hands, changing the angle and force of attack every second.
She attacked from the front, from the side, from above, from below.
Her body left dozens of afterimages in the void, and each afterimage was making different attack movements.
Surrounding Loren from different directions, different angles, and with different forces.
The blades hit Loren.
All of them hit.
But all of them were blocked by that invisible energy field.
No sound, no sparks, no sign of being hit at all.
Just stopping there.
The blades stopped less than a millimeter from his skin, as if frozen by time.
Hela withdrew her attacks and retreated more than ten meters away.
Her breathing became heavier, not because she was tired, but because she began to realize that this Earthling's power exceeded her expectations.
Not exceeding a little, but exceeding a lot.
Her full-strength attack hit his body, and he didn't even move his footsteps.
"Your energy field is very strong." Hela said.
"But it cannot block my full strength."
She raised her right hand with her five fingers spread open.
Black energy surged from her palm, shooting into the sky like a fountain, forming a huge, rotating energy vortex in the void.
The diameter of the vortex was constantly expanding, from a few meters to tens of meters, from tens of meters to hundreds of meters.
The center of the vortex was a spherical space glowing with a dark red light, and the interior was pure, compressed to the extreme power.
"This is the strike I prepared for Odin." Hela's voice came from below the vortex, covered by the roar of energy, but still clear.
"I prepared for a thousand years to shatter his defense when he sealed me. He didn't give me the chance, but now, I give you this chance."
She waved her right hand downward fiercely.
All the energy, all the power, all the anger condensed into a single point.
A fist-sized, white-glowing, extremely unstable energy ball.
The energy ball rotated in her hands, and energy constantly splashed out from the surface, blowing up small, fleeting cracks in the void.
"Take this." Hela said.
She threw the energy ball at Loren.
The speed of the energy ball was not fast, but its existence itself was a kind of oppression.
The void it passed through left a long, black trace behind it.
That was not a space crack; the memory of space itself was changed by the power of the energy ball, leaving permanent, unhealable wounds.
The energy ball hit Loren's chest.
Sound, there was no sound.
The power and impact of this strike were absorbed, transformed, and eliminated by Loren's body, without producing any perceptible sound waves.
The energy ball exploded on Loren's chest, white light swallowed everything, and the World turned into pure, shadowless white in that instant.
The white light dissipated.
Loren stood in place.
His shirt was not wrinkled, his hair was not messy, there were no wounds on his skin, and his eyes were as calm as an abyss.
He looked at Hela, exactly the same as before the energy ball hit him.
Beneath his feet, the void did not crack and left no trace.
All the power of the energy ball was borne by him alone, one body, one existence, and even the aftermath did not spread to the outside.
Hela stood in place, two black blades slipped from her hands, turning into energy and dissipating in the void.
Her green eyes widened like copper bells, her mouth slightly open, her breathing paused for a beat.
"Impossible..." Hela's voice was very soft, as if she was talking to herself, not to Loren.
"I prepared for thousands of years... This strike is enough to kill Odin... You couldn't possibly... Impossible..."
Chapter 448: Joint Operation
Loren looked at her.
"Odin is the god of his era, and I am the god of my era.
Your power is strong, but you are not my match.
It is not because you are not strong enough, but because your power is still within the framework of physical rules, while my power transcends the rules."
He took a step forward.
Hela instinctively took a step back.
"Now, your choice is to submit, or continue."
Hela looked into his gray eyes, looking at those motionless eyes like the ice of Eternity.
She could see her own reflection in those eyes—a disheveled Goddess of Death who had lost her crown.
The thousand-year seal did not make her yield, and the battle with Thanos did not make her fearful, but the despair of these attacks being ineffective made her feel powerless for the first time.
Her knees buckled.
Not kneeling, just buckling, as if her legs could suddenly no longer bear the weight of her body.
Her head was lowered, and her long black hair hung down to cover her face.
Her hands were shaking, her lips were shaking, her whole body was shaking.
"I... submit!" Her voice squeezed out from behind her lips, hoarse and broken, like a flickering candle in the wind.
Loren looked at her without speaking.
Hela raised her head, her green eyes lacking the previous ruthlessness and cruelty, leaving only an exhaustion like the collapse of someone who had walked too far and could finally stop to rest.
There were tears at the corners of her eyes—not crying, but the natural flow when emotions that had been suppressed for too long finally found an outlet.
"I submit," she said again, this time with a slightly louder voice.
"I will not betray you, I will not run away, and I will not try to seize Asgard again.
I will fight for you, kill for you, and conquer for you.
As long as... as long as you don't let me go back into that darkness."
Loren walked up to her, reached out, and gently placed his hand on her shoulder.
"You won't go back again," Loren said. "I promise."
The different dimension began to contract around them, the white void collapsing inward from the edges, finally turning into a silver-white speck of light that disappeared at Loren's fingertips.
They reappeared in the underground laboratory of Morgan Manor.
2B's hand was still pressed on the Miao blade, Wanda's Chaos Magic was still burning in her palm, and Alice's forehead gemstone was still glowing.
They saw Loren and Hela appear together, seeing the tear stains on Hela's face and her lowered eyebrows.
Wanda withdrew her magic, her eyes looking at Hela, the corners of her mouth slightly curving upward into a meaningful arc.
"Welcome to join!" Wanda said.
2B withdrew the Miao blade and nodded meaningfully.
Loren turned around and faced everyone.
"Starting today, Hela is a member of us, and you must treat her like a sister."
Hearing Loren's words, the Commander White standing aside spoke meaningfully.
"Master, do you really want to treat her like a sister?
If that's really the case, does she also have to join our rotation service list?
And the monthly joint operation, does she have to participate too?"
"Rotation service list? Joint operation? What is this stuff?"
Hela looked at the Commander White with a puzzled face, although she didn't know what this thing specifically referred to.
But just judging from the name, it didn't feel like anything proper.
Hearing the Commander White's words, Lorenimmediately shook his head awkwardly.
Hela and I haven't reached that level of relationship yet, so she shouldn't be on that list, and she doesn't need to participate in the joint operation. It won't be too late to join when the time comes.
"Okay!" Seeing Loren's awkward appearance, the Commander White glanced at Hela with a half-smile.
"It looks like you don't have this fortune yet! But since we are all our own people, I will fight for it for you early."
"????? "
"Fight for what? Fight for what, why do I somewhat not understand what you guys are talking about." Hela looked at the Commander White with a dumbfounded face, not knowing why.
At this moment, she couldn't help but shift her gaze to 2B and curiously asked: "Do you know what she is talking about?"
Hearing this, 2B nodded very seriously and said: "Of course I know. Joint operation, that is my happiest day."
"Happiest day? Why is that? Can you explain it more clearly?"
Unable to understand 2B's words, Hela shifted her gaze to Wanda.
"Do you know?"
Wanda nodded: "Of course I know, I am also one of them!"
"Then can you explain it more clearly? What on earth is a joint operation?"
"If this matter is explained too clearly, it won't be interesting. Anyway... it's very happy, you know!" Wandashowed a meaningful smile.
Hearing this, Hela seemed to think of something, her face flushed instantly, revealing a trace of embarrassment.
"Damn pervert, don't even think about making me join. I only submitted, I am not your concubine!" Hela frowned and looked at Loren, saying.
Regarding her tough attitude, Loren shrugged indifferently and said: "Rest assured, I have no interest in an old hag who has lived for a thousand years!"
"What did you say! You're courting death! I am a god of Asgard. A thousand years is just a snap of the fingers to me. You actually dare to call me old, I am going to kill you."
Hearing Loren's words, Hela exploded immediately, speaking as she was about to rush toward Loren.
But thinking of her performance in the different dimension, she quickly regained her calm.
The man in front of her was not someone she could handle. If she really rushed up, who knows what he would do to her!
"Since it's just a snap of the fingers, why are you still harboring a grudge against Odin's seal? Woman, stop deceiving yourself, you are just old."
"How dare you!!! King is currently in the prime of life, and my bodily functions are at their strongest."
"I don't believe it!" Seeing Hela speaking with a serious face, Loren shook his head.
"I don't believe it either, unless we compare. We'll only know after comparing."
Not only Loren, but the Commander White standing beside Loren also smiled and shook her head.
"This... how to compare?" Hearing the Commander White's words, Hela looked at her speechlessly.
"Isn't this simple? Just have a one-on-one fight with Masterand you'll know!"
The Commander White raised her eyebrows, saying with a mischievous smile.
"Scram, don't even think about tricking King. Do you think King is a three-year-old child, can this kind of thing be tested casually?"
"Master can naturally test it casually!" the Commander White said matter-of-factly.
"Alright, stop teasing her. You are you, she is she, it's different. Commander White, take Hela to her room to rest!"
Loren smiled and shook his head, not delving deeper into this matter. After all, as far as he was concerned, he already had enough women.
Chapter 449 From the Gods
After Hela surrendered, Morgan Manor returned to a superficial peace.
But superficial peace was never true peace.
Loren stood in front of the study window, his black hair casting a soft luster in the afternoon sunlight, his gray eyes looking somewhat absent-mindedly at the breeze-swept lawn outside the window.
His absent-mindedness was not without reason.
After Hela surrendered, he originally thought the crisis of Asgard had been lifted, and the prophecy of Ragnarok might be rewritten due to his intervention.
But what was happening in the Universe made him unable to feel at ease.
His Silver Superman perception had captured some unusual fluctuations in the past few days, not fluctuations of energy, but fluctuations of existence.
A certain powerful life was disappearing one by one.
It was not ordinary death, but complete disappearance.
It was as if someone was erasing those names stroke by stroke from the scroll of the Universe with an eraser.
He closed his eyes and extended his perception deep into the Universe.
At the other end of the Milky Way Galaxy, on a Planetshrouded in darkness, he felt a void.
There used to be a powerful existence there, a god known as the "Peak of Sovereign", worshipped by the primitive civilization of a certain galaxy for tens of thousands of years.
But now, that existence had disappeared.
It was not a fall or a migration, but being completely erased from the level of existence by some kind of power, and even the traces of his past existence were being wiped out.
Loren opened his eyes and tapped his fingers lightly on the windowsill.
"Master, what are you thinking about?" Tifa's voice came from behind, gentle and calm.
"Something is wrong in the Universe, some powerful existences are disappearing," Loren said.
Tifa walked to his side and looked out the window following his gaze.
On the lawn, Nymph was talking to a butterfly, her antennae swaying gently in the breeze.
Number 18 sat on the railing of the terrace, tilting her head up and looking at the sky.
Even in the day, she could feel the existence of the star she named "Number 18".
Alice was in the corner of the garden, holding a book about ancient myths in her hand, the gem between her eyebrows emitting a faint blue light while reading.
Hela stood under the shadow of an oak tree, her green eyes looking at the sky with a complex expression, not knowing what she was thinking.
They all looked very calm.
But Tifa knew that Loren's intuition would never go wrong.
"Should we go and find out?" Tifa asked.
"Need to, but not now."
Loren was about to continue when a roar from the sky interrupted him.
It was not thunder, but the sound of energy tearing space apart, the spatial gate of the stormbreaker was opening.
Golden light burst from an invisible point in the sky, forming a rotating vortex glowing with blue electric arcs.
From the vortex, a scarred figure fell down.
The person coming was none other than Thor.
He landed on the lawn of Morgan Manor, smashing out a shallow pit.
His body was covered with new wounds, not the ones left by Hela, but new ones.
His armor was corroded by some black tar-like substance, emitting pungent smoke in the sunlight.
His left arm hung by his side, bent at an abnormal angle, broken.
And it was a comminuted fracture, with the bones protruding from under the skin, appearing exceptionally glaring in the sunlight.
There was no expression on his face, not calm, but a state where after experiencing huge pain, a person suppressed all emotions to the lowest layer of consciousness, not even wanting to move their facial muscles.
But he was still standing.
He stood on the lawn, the stormbreaker held in his right hand, black blood still dripping from the axe blade.
His blue eyes found the second-floor window among the crowd on the lawn, and found the silver-haired man in front of the window.
"Loren, we need to talk," Thor's voice rasped.
In the study, Thor sat in the armchair he had sat in last time.
His left arm had been simply immobilized by Tifa, treated for the open fracture with a medical spray produced in Wakanda, and wrapped with Vibranium fiber bandages around the damaged muscles.
But Thor refused further medical treatment, not because he didn't need it, but because he didn't want to wait.
His eyes were red, not from crying, but from anger.
That suppressed anger, about to explode, surging like magma beneath the crust.
Loren stood opposite him, arms crossed, his black hair glowing with a cold light in the dim light of the study.
2B stood at the door, her silver-white pupils locking onto every move of Thor.
Hela stood by the window, her green eyes looking at Thor, with a meaningful yet imperceptible arc at the corner of her mouth.
She was not watching her own brother suffer; she was reading his mind.
She could feel the kind of anger on him, exactly the same as her own anger before she was sealed.
"Speak," Loren said.
Thor took a deep breath and began to recount.
"Three days ago, Asgard received distress signals from all over the Universe.
Not ordinary distress calls, but distress calls from gods.
The god of craftsmen of the Dwarf Kingdom, the god of fertility of Vanaheim, the god of forging of Nidavellir, and gods of more than a dozen other Small Worlds all disappeared successively within three days.
Their temples were still there, their believers were still there, but they were gone. No one knew where they went, and no one knew who did it."
He paused, his fingers tightening on the handle of the stormbreaker.
"I was a bit worried, so I let Heimdall use his eyes to investigate. His eyes can see everything in the Nine Realmsand every corner of the Universe.
I asked him to find the last locations of those missing gods, to find their commonalities, and to find the person manipulating everything behind the scenes."
Something shattered in Thor's blue eyes.
"Heimdall saw it."
His voice was very low and heavy, as if squeezed out from the deepest part of his chest.
"He saw a black, slender figure like a withered tree.
That figure stood on a dead Planet, holding a black sword dripping with some kind of liquid in his hand.
Under his feet were the corpses of the gods on that Planet, not one, but countless.
The power of those gods was being extracted from the corpses, turning into black energy, and being absorbed by that sword.
Then that figure, that thing, raised his head and looked into Heimdall's eyes."
Thor's voice paused.
"Across the distance of the entire Universe, he saw Heimdall."
The room fell silent.
Hela's brow furrowed slightly.
She had seen Heimdall's eyes, and she knew the power of that pair of eyes.
That was one of the oldest and most powerful magic of Asgard, capable of penetrating any barrier and seeing anything in any corner of the Universe.
But the power of those eyes lay in their concealment.
The person being seen should not know they were being seen.
If that person could feel Heimdall's gaze and could follow that gaze to find Heimdall himself—
That meant—
"Heimdall has been exposed," Hela said.
Chapter 450: God Butcher - Gorr!
Thor looked at her, something burning in his blue eyes.
Not anger, but sorrow.
The kind of sorrow where, after losing an important part of one's life, nothing remains but emptiness and ashes.
"Last night, the night sky of Asgard split open."
Not the light of the Bifrost Bridge, not any known method of teleportation, but a black scar-like fissure.
"A person walked out of the fissure, claiming to be the God Butcher, named Gorr."
When he uttered that name, a few blue electric arcs leaped across the blade of the stormbreaker.
It was not because Thor was summoning lightning, but because the stormbreaker itself reacted to that name.
An instinctive, biological level of fear.
"Heimdall discovered him immediately." Thor's voice began to tremble.
"Heimdall raised his greatsword, standing at the entrance of the Bifrost Bridge, guarding it like he had guarded Asgard for thousands of years.
He said to that thing: 'You do not belong here, please leave.'"
Thor closed his eyes.
"Gorr did not answer, he just walked step by step toward Heimdall.
His pace was slow and steady, like a person walking in his own garden.
The long black sword in his hand, the one he called the 'necrosword', gleamed with a dull light under the starlight.
Heimdall swung his sword, the edge of his greatsword striking Gorr.
But Gorr vanished, then appeared behind Heimdall.
The necrosword stabbed in from Heimdall's back and pierced out through his chest."
Thor's voice broke.
"Heimdall fell."
The study fell silent once again.
This time, the silence was deeper and heavier, like a giant boulder pressing against everyone's chest.
Hela's green eyes narrowed slightly, her fingers tapping gently on the windowsill.
This was not her expressing unease, but her way of masking a certain fluctuation deep within her heart.
She did not like Heimdall, never had.
That black giant always looked at her with his golden eyes, as if looking at a prisoner who needed to be monitored.
But he had guarded Asgard for thousands of years.
His loyalty to Asgard was purer than any warrior she had ever seen.
Thor opened his eyes, the sorrow in his blue eyes covered by a harder, colder layer.
"When I arrived, he was already dead.
His eyes were still open, not closing even after death, and his blood was still on the ground, golden, different from the gold of Asgard, it was his own."
"I made a move against Gorr, the power of the stormbreaker was enough to kill Thanos.
In my fury, I poured all the lightning into the blade of the axe, the power of that strike was enough to split a Planetin half."
He looked at his hand, that bandaged left hand that had been fixed by Tifa.
"But he caught it."
Thor's voice became very strange, not fear, but a mixture of confusion and awe.
"He extended his left hand, pinching the blade of the stormbreaker with two fingers, like pinching a leaf falling from a tree.
Lightning leaped on his fingers, and black energy surged from the necrosword, tearing and biting together with my lightning.
His face was very close to mine, ash-white, like a corpse.
But his eyes were black, without pupils, without whites, only two bottomless, black hole-like voids.
His lips were black, slightly parted, emitting a sound from his throat like metal friction."
Thor lowered his head, looking at the stormbreaker in his hand.
"I don't know how to defeat him, I bombed him with lightning, and he absorbed it with the necrosword.
I chopped him with the axe, and he caught it with his hand, I punched him, and his body was as hard as stone.
He wasn't fighting, he was torturing me, letting me know the gap between us.
He fought me with one hand, the other hand behind his back, and he was smiling."
Thor raised his head and looked at Loren.
"Then he left, not running away, not retreating, but swaggering away.
Just like when he came, he broke open the void and disappeared into that black fissure."
Thor stood up from the chair, his blue eyes staring straight into Loren's gray eyes.
"Loren, I need your help, not for me, but for Heimdall.
For the slain gods, for all the living gods who could become Gorr's next target at any moment, this person must be stopped."
Loren was silent for a long time.
His gray eyes looked at Thor, but not at him, rather at the void behind him.
Searching the endless ocean of information deep within his consciousness for memories about the "God Butcher Gorr".
His mind contained all the settings of the Marvel Universe, but not every setting was complete, and not every character would exist in this reality.
Gorr's existence meant that the pantheon system in this Universe was much more complex than he had expected.
"Gorr," Loren said, his voice calm, but with a weight that people dared not take lightly.
"I know this name."
Thor frowned slightly.
"In the ancient legends of the Universe, there is a prophecy about the 'God Butcher'."
Loren walked over to the bookshelf and took down a thick, leather-bound book from the third shelf.
An ancient book written in a script he couldn't read, but which the system could translate.
The pages were yellowed, the corners worn, and the gilded letters on the spine had faded almost to the point of illegibility.
He opened the book, his fingers pausing on a certain page, then placed the book on the desk, pushing it toward Thor.
"It is not a prophecy, it is a record. Many centuries ago, in a remote corner of the Milky Way Galaxy, there was a race called 'Indigo'."
Their civilization was underdeveloped, but they had faith, believing in an existence they called the'Supreme God'.
This Supreme God gave them food, gave them Water, and gave them protection.
Over tens of thousands of years, they built magnificent temples, carved huge statues of gods, and composed long epic poems praising the gods.
Then one day, the Supreme God disappeared, not dead, just disappeared, and then the Indigo suffered a great famine, and many people died!"
Thor looked at the ancient texts and illustrations on the page, his blue eyes full of confusion.
"The Indigo people fell into despair. One of them, a man whose name had been forgotten by history.
He no longer prayed, no longer sacrificed, no longer believed, and he began to search.
He walked across his Planet, walked across the surrounding galaxies, and walked across every corner of the Milky Way Galaxy.
He wanted to find the gods, and then question them: Why did you abandon us?
Why do you not respond to our prayers? Why do you not protect us?"
