*Chapter 19: The Escape*
Mira and Eva moved swiftly through the deserted streets, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of danger. They had managed to escape the basement, but Mira knew Leo's men would be hot on their heels.
As they turned a corner, Eva suddenly stopped, her eyes fixed on a sleek black car parked on the side of the road. "Get in," she said, her voice low and urgent.
Mira didn't hesitate,she curious but doesnt say a word she just slid into the passenger seat as Eva started the engine. They sped away from the curb, weaving through traffic as they put as much distance between themselves and leos house as possible.
Mira's mind was racing with questions. Who was Eva, really? And what was her connection to Venom? But she knew she had to focus on their immediate survival.
As they drove, Eva's eyes kept darting to the rearview mirror, her expression tense. "We're not safe yet," she said, her voice tight with anxiety.
Mira's eyes locked onto the mirror, her heart skipping a beat as she saw a black SUV tailing them. "They're following us," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Eva's grip on the steering wheel tightened. "Hold on," "this guys are different they are not his men "she said, her voice grim.
With a sudden burst of speed, Eva took a sharp turn, narrowly avoiding a collision with another car. Mira's heart was in her throat as they sped through the city streets, dodging pedestrians and cars.
But their pursuers were relentless, and Mira knew they couldn't keep this up for much longer.
Suddenly, Eva slammed on the brakes, and the car screeched to a halt. Mira's eyes widened as she saw a narrow alleyway between two buildings. "In there," Eva said, her voice urgent.
Without hesitation, Mira followed Eva into the alley, their hearts pounding in unison as they waited to see if they'd lost their pursuers...
