The night was silent, but the silence felt wrong, like the air itself was waiting for something terrible to happen. The house was too still, the lights too dim, and Aria couldn't sleep. She sat by the window, her knees pulled close to her chest, watching the shadows outside shift under the moonlight.
It had been three days since the message. Three days since Sebastian's number appeared on her phone. She had deleted it, blocked it, even changed her SIM card, but somehow, new messages kept coming. Each one shorter. Colder.
"You think you're safe?"
"Look behind you."
"He's not who you think he is."
She didn't know if it was real or someone trying to scare her. But every time she looked into Lorenzo's eyes now, a part of her hesitated. He had done so much for her, saved her, protected her, fought for her, but there were parts of his life she still didn't know.
And now those parts felt dangerous.
